Look who's back!!

I've been out of the gym game for a bit now....needed to focus on other things more & get my mental health back to a better place. Now, to add the weights back to the mix!
I thought this would be the perfect place to find some motivation!!!

Ok guys...going back to the classic 5-6 meals a day bc the IF didn’t seem to cooperate with my body at this time. I am going to be mixing up grilled chicken and fish for the protein, sweet potatoes or brown rice for the carbs, and broccoli or green beans for the veggie. Biggest issue is breakfast. I want some protein packed ideas that I can prep the night before and just grab on the way out the door in the am. I was thinking overnight oats. Anyone have any good recipes? @TheSolution?

Pasteurized egg whites. Just drink em out of the glass. I know it sounds hideous but they really have no taste and go down like water.

Eww! Lol Maybe I should say enjoyable

Also, I don’t care for the protein powder I have plain but maybe if I mixed it with oats and Greek yogurt it wouldn’t be too bad.

Yeah maybe a smoothie with your oats, a banana and some yogurt would do the trick.

Have you ever checked for Powerful Oatmeal at your local stores, they pack 20g protein per bowl

Have not. Might try one but looks a little high for 1 serving.

Hard to believe this thread started over 4 years ago and you’re still committed. Awesome!
Wow! That is crazy! I knew it had been a while but guess I forgot we started it that long ago! Haha

1/2t cocoa powder
1/2c water (I didn’t have almond milk)

Love these and I find them for just over a buck a piece. Sugar varies based on which one you get. But I haven't seen anything over 9g. They work great when in a hurry.

You could always make a quiche of some sort for breakfast too. Cook it the night before and reheat in a damp napkin.

How were the overnight oats you made by the way? It sounded pretty legit.

This mornings workout was great! Actually had to drop weight on the last giant set! Legs were fried! They’re already hurting! Lol Also, my hamstring that I injured about 3-4 weeks ago is feeling much better! Tested the water with stiff legged deads and then was able to add weight on lunges, glute kickbacks, and leg curls!

Took the day off from work today. Daughter had wisdom teeth out. All of that went well.

Went back to sleep after taking care of my youngest this morning and went to the gym a little later. Had an excellent upper body workout.

Happy Monday! It was a great weekend. Worked around the house. I definitely earned an appreciation for you guys that do landscaping work! I dug a 3’x1’ whole to plant rosemary in one of our flower beds. It was a ton of clay and rocks. That junk was HARD! Lol

I also signed up with Doterra Essential Oils a week or two ago so I’ve been trying to learn more about the oils, combinations, and uses. Even made a spray for my plants to keep off bugs and mold. We had some trouble last year with my hydrangeas getting mold spots and hostas were torn up by bugs.

I never really thought much of them but we started using them last year when my son was having issues with anxiety. I continue to be impressed at how much they help!

I’ve noticed for a while that my right leg(screwed up hip) is shaped different and I finally figured out why...figured I’d share the video to correct it just in case anyone else has this problem with theirs.

No gym yesterday. Daughter woke up bleeding a lot from one of her wisdom tooth extraction sites. We were up for a few hours dealing with that. Everything is good now. Just chose to sleep until 6 instead of doing cardio.

I took off today to hang out with my son for spring break. Boss is off and we aren’t seeing patients this week so that’s why I’m able to take off. We went to a local state forest with hiking trails. Hiked about 4 miles, had a picnic and then went to a playground.

Gym session this morning before hiking.

BB Bench/pull-ups
45x12, 75x10
95x8
105x8
115x5x4 sets/4 sets of 8

DB bench/ DB Rows
50x6-7/65x10
4 sets of each

Deadlifts
135x5
185x5
205x5
225x3x2 sets
Last on I did a long hold. Can tell it’s been a while.

Db shoulder press
35x15
35x7-failed 8
30x8-F
30x6- F
Crazy how well the first set goes and then I fail so early on the rest. So I end up with a lot of bottom holds

Pull-ups/cable crunches
3 sets of 6-8/90x15x4 sets

Machine Reverse flyes
70x20x5 sets

Machine lateral raises
30x15x5 sets

Decline sit-ups
2 sets to failure

Ab coaster
2 sets to failure
