Blue GENE Update

I officially have 5 more dosages of Blue GENE left. I should be performing my official post cycle strength evaluations this week, however, now that my little brother is off to college, I'm lacking a camera crew. Not only was he my camera crew, but he also owned the equipment.

I'd hate to open up with performance videos and end with a written report, but I'll see what I can do. I would really like to get videos up for an integral validation of any endurance or strength improvements, that makes a much greater impact then a written report in my opinion, however, my desired outcome is currently not very promising, but I will try my best.

 Im so hitting up my college for a masseuse!!! Thanks Irish!! I had no idea!

I found out one of our Yoga instructors is a certified Masseuse, but there's nothing on services.

"excuse me, ma'am, how much do you normally charge per hour for your "services"?

"Well, you could whore yourself out to 100 fat chicks for $50 apiece. Or 50 fat chicks for $100 apiece... What? Fat chicks need love too... But they gotta pay."

Lumbar Update

For the record, my lumbar did not suffer any "unwanted" pains from my dead lifts the other. Granted I used quite a light load, but its encouraging I am at least on the road of rebuilding. It'd be friggin glorious if I am able to perform "heavy" deads on the Blue Balls Stack. This would especially conducive to an elevated testosterone environment.

Also, my traps got mashed from the previous deads and shrugs session. My traps nevware get sore and they are absolute dust. Perhaps even slightly strained in a borderline injurious manner, so I'll remain mindful of them (which is why I've been on a witch hunt for a good masseuse recently!)

good luck on your search man.

also, have you ever done snatch grip deads? i did some today for the first time, and i gotta admit, i liked it, a lot. felt like a more natural movement for me. it felt more like i was actually picking a heavy ass object off the ground rather than simply performing a heavy lift.

oh and i was looking at barnes and noble today after lifting, and they got some cheap massage books. like 10 bucks i think. could be good bonding for you and your girl haha.

Death by Forearms

As many of you know, I am a brachioradialus fanatic, including forearm flexors and forearm extensors development. I aesthetically favor the forearm extensors over the flexors, even though the flexors have more functional use, both in real life and bodybuilding, but what can I say.

Barbell Reverse Curls
65lbs x 12 reps
70lbs x 10 reps
75lbs x 9 reps
80lbs x 8 reps
75lbs x 8 reps
70lbs x 8 reps
65lbs x 8 reps
65lbs x 8 reps

Preacher, EZ Bar Reverse Curls
55lbs x 10 reps
55lbs x 9 reps
55lbs x 8 reps

Machine, Reverse Curls
50lbs x 15 reps
55lbs x 12 reps
60lbs x 12 reps
65lbs x 12 reps
70lbs x 8 reps
65lbs x 10 reps
60lbs x 10 reps
55lbs x 10 reps
50lbs x 12 reps

Seated, One Arm Cable Reverse Curls
50lbs x 12 reps
60lbs x 10 reps
70lbs x 10 reps
80lbs x 8 reps
80lbs x 8 reps

Barbell Reverse Wrist Curls
65lbs x 20 reps
65lbs x 20 reps
65lbs x 18 reps

Normally, I would perform half hammers, half reverse curls splits, or some more concentrated forearm work, like wrist/reverse wrist curls type exercises, but I've been hammering my "hammers" along with my typical biceps days, so I decided to focus on the reverse movements tonight, which I particularly enjoy. I will sometimes lift in a manner that is out of the ordinary to kill lifting monotony. Monotony only occurs when the lifting frequency for a particular muscle group is incredibly high, and I've been hitting bi's like crazy lately, so this was a "just for fun" workout.

4 more doses of Blue GENE left and I'm still trying to concoct a plan to have my performance evaluation videos taken.

nice workout man1 I like extensors more than flexors too

maybe this has been addressed before, but what are your leg workouts like?

My leg workouts, due to my back & left knee, is very unconventional and experimental. I'll explain a principle I used to exploit. It encompasses high volume and time under tension principles, mixed into a gumbo of experimental bodybuilding based on physiological rational and theory. I don't record them because it's really out there and I don't expect anyway to understand. Hell, I wouldn't do it if I could do regular squats, but here goes.

#1. Take two 25lbs weights and line them up on the floor.
#2. Stand on then so your heels are elevated, but your toes are touching the floor.
#3. Hold two 25lbs Db's in your hands.
#4. Perform 30 squats.
#5. Immediately following the 30 squats, you put the Db's aside and immediately knee down into a resting squatted position, hams on calves, but maintaining balance on your feet, for 1 min.

The 30 squats creates an intense, instinctual & reactionary muscle contraction across the quadriceps. A muscle contraction from a physiological stand point is simply muscle shortening. However, as you kneel, you prevent the quads from being able to contract (to shorten), so they remain in a highly, highly tense and very painful state as they remain fully extended in that squatted position, but are mechanically desiring to contract in response to the previous set of high repetitions. In essence, this creates a minute long contraction state. That's TUT fo yo @$$.

#6. Immediately following this VERY PAINFUL, 1 min squat, you stand back up, grab the Db's and perform another 30.
#7. Repeat the 1 min stretch.
#8. Perform 3rd and last set of 30 squats.
#9. Perform 3rd and last set of 1 min stretch.

Perform calves on the calf raise machine with 45's & 25's in the same manner, and leg curls.

One of each and that's, that. It's actually very excruciating, I put a trainer at Glendora's L.A. Fitness through it, and during the calf raises he started tearing from his eyes.

Like i said, experimental, but that 1 min contraction is an intensity like nothing else you'll ever do. I'm definitely not professing it's a superior method, you can't beat heavy squats, there are no replacements for heavy deads and heavy squats, but I make do with alternatives to keep me encouraged and enthusiastic when need be.

Edit: This method may have more biochemical benefits, then physical benefits.

you never cease to amaze my friend. that sounds like it would be interesting to try. i think im going to try that in the next couple weeks. ive been trying to find alternatives to squats while letting my lower back recover a little more. so far so good, but this looks better than my routines.

And here I was thinking big forearms were from...well, nevermind.

Awesome numbers man.

Jeez, if I'm out of Anabolics for more than 2 days I'll have another 30 pages to catch up on your log Volcom

i see this at my gym too. except these kids are in high school and think they are superman because they are on tren or some other designer, and think they can hit 315 cold, with no stretching, no belt, and no technique.

Excellent point Rolandajoint, to do any compound exercise without a proper warmup and stretching is plain :fool2:

Nice vids Vol!
Dragonfly you fit in so well - its not even funny....:cackle:

We best learn from our own mistakes. Personally I found this article to be quite of an eyeopener:
