How does it effect it as a stand alone then ?
I have a feeling it will work better, but I'm curious to see what the mental effects will be like, if any. The old formula usually gave the user a boost in mental confidence, but I don't know what this one will do in that facet.

Yeah, the old formula is a real mood-lifter. But, if the new formula works even better for strength gains, all I can say is: :jaw: :woohoo:

Ok, I've got to rant a little: what's the deal with the prices on intra-workout supplements?! Holy Crap you'd think they were giving you gold in a bucket with what they cost. "Here, we'll give you 7g CHO, 4g Pro, and not enough Leucine or BA to actually do anything. Furthermore, we're only going to give you 25-30 servings of that and charge you $30-50 even though it's basically our post-workout formula just watered-down to 1/6 the strength."

Seriously, the prices simply aren't worth it! I'm a huge fan of Intra-Aid, but I need 2scoops per workout for that stuff to benefit me and then a tub only lasts about 3weeks - that's $30+ for something that's worth maybe 1/2 that if I mix the bulks myself.

Thank you supplement companies, but I think I'll stick to formulating my own intra-workout shakes. I can make them better and astronomically cheaper than anything you have to offer.

Want my business? Make a product with 30-40g fast CHO, 10-12g Hydrolysate, 10g EAA, 15g Leucine or 4:1:1 BCAA, 6g WMS, 3g BA and some good electrolytes. Give me 40-50 servings of that size and charge me $40-50. Cuz that what's I can get for that price if I mix it myself - shoot I even looked into making it in bulk and I could make a profit selling the stuff for about that much!

Freaking greedy companies...

(Note:this actually doesn't apply to LG - I haven't encountered anything of theirs that is overpriced when bought at NP. Also, LG doesn't make a complete Intra-Workout product, only BC+EAA, which is a tasty addition, but I would still like to see it in a bigger tub size! :D )

We should market a intra w/o assembly kit with all the ingredients then the consumer can create their own personal intra w/o shake.

Agree here, some products just seem really underdosed, almost to be able to make claims it is in the product. I personally make up my own pre and intra workout drink. Just use Lg's Perfect Carb + 3-5 scoops Bc+Eaa and Bulk BA, ands that's me done.

What can I say... I'm a real fancy man ;)
:) Those foundational staples can make all the difference.

Just as an example of the kind of overpricing that I'm referring to, I designed on Trueprotein an intra-workout product that would beat the pants off most things I've seen on the market:

7.5g Hydrolysate
7.5g EAA
7.5g Leucine
3g GMS
- that is 85% of the allotted 30g serving size formula that TP uses, so there's still room for adding BA (which TP doesn't have on their custom mix for some reason) or something else if one wanted. Additionally, I added premium flavoring, electrolytes and vitamins. I'm keto right now, so I left off the carbs, but I have tons of dex and malto laying around, so I'm set there (and you can get them for literally two-cents per gram, so if you wanted them, they'd add no real cost).

Final Price for this mix (which is basically double-dosed Intrabolic with GMS)? $15.25/lb

That's for 15servings, so if you're a big guy, you might want two - well guess what? Even buying two-pounds of this stuff is cheaper than buying one pound of Intrabolic!

Ok, I'm ending my soapbox now, I just think that there are some companies who should be ashamed of themselves.:privateeye:

how many servings would 1lb yield?

1lb is 15 servings, hence this:

But that's certainly not the clearest sentence I've ever written. :)

Also, that's from TP. If you shop around and mix ingredients yourself, you can do it even cheaper than that. Only vitamins are hard to find in bulk powders.

Yup! Gotta keep her happy. :) I go to school all day and she's been working evenings, so anytime we have together, we try to make the most of.

Supplement thoughts:

SV2: Not a whole lot new to report on this front. I'm feeling leaner, but also a bit like I'm holding water. my "After" Pics will be coming this weekend when I get to start reincorporating carbs in my diet. Arm, chest and shoulder vascularity has increased a lot. Typically, these are the areas where I lose fat the fastest - my gut stays stubborn to the end. Still, I will attempt to get a shot of some of my "veinage, bro."

AS: Still not wild about the taste, but I can't argue with the performance. I felt great in the gym yesterday. Lots of energy, lots of tenacity and some darn good anaerobic stamina too. Even after the workout was done I felt alert and my mind active.

T-911: Strength continues to rise here and there - leg press and incline press both showed some marked improvement. Mood enhancement is in full swing; in addition to feeling alert post-workout (presumably from AS), I was also a little euphoric. I recall this feeling from several workouts last time I ran T-911, and it always seemed to follow sessions where I kept rest periods rather short.

Combat: Just about empty. I'll post up a final review in it's own thread here in a couple of days. Pretty versatile stuff.

Yesterday's Workout:

Smith Squats: 135 x25, x25, x20, x20
ss'd w/ Inc DB Press: 75s for 4x12

Leg Press: 450 for 3x10 + Calf raises for 3x12
ss'd w/ Inc DB Press: 75s x12, x10, x10

Unilateral Decline Cable Press: 110 per arm for 7x12
ss'd w/ BW Lunges for 4x15

Triple-Dropset Flat DB Flies: 3 sets
50x6 + 40x6 +30x6

Unilateral Leg Ext: 75 for 4x20
ss'd w/seated Uni leg curl: 75 for 4x20

Whew! Been a while since my pecs have felt THAT worked - that fly dropset is really something. I rotated the dbs as I raised them, going from a supinated grip at the bottom to pronated at the top, with a good squeeze when they hit each other. I loved it!

I just didn't feel like doing leg presses for sets of 20, so I decided to mix it up a bit and threw some extra weight on there. The first set was hard, but the second two were surprisingly easy. I think it's a good indicator that my legs have retained most of their strength. They've actually gained some size over this month too - my gym shorts are beginning to get tighter around the thighs like they used to be. However, my hams used to be the dominant factor in my leg size - now, my hams have shrunk somewhat, but my quads have compensated in turn. It's all the volume I've been giving my quads recently.

Today, I have an appointment with a specialist, who will determine whether I need surgery or not. If I do, it'll probably happen in the next week or two, so any prayers are appreciated. I don't want surgery, but I want to get this fixed, so I'm willing if that is what is necessary.

Oh, and I forgot - My dad gave me a Traeger Grill for my birthday (saturday)!!!!!! It's this one.

If you ever get the opportunity, eat anything that is cooked on this thing - it will make you never want to cook in the house again. It burns wood pellets and cooks via confection and oh, man, the stuff that comes off of it is amazing. Pecan and Maple smoked top sirloin anyone? :D

I'm in the same boat with the surgery thing. I don't know if it's necessary or not, and I'd definitely like to stay away from it, but whatever it takes, I guess.

I feel the same with the legs. It feels like mine are getting bigger, but in a different way. Something odd is going on...I don't think my glutes are as big, though. It seems as though I've retained the strength, but my back just can't handle a heavy load, so I don't do certain exercises to failure. I can still get my Quads nice and sore, but my Hams are a little more difficult to hit as I can't do RDL or SLDL. I'm pretty much limited to variations of the leg curl.

Chest mutilation sounds good right now. I'm about to hit it in an hour or so.

Exactly. When hip flexion and spinal loading are out of the question, hammies are basically an "isolation movement only" muscle. Not a whole lot of variety available then...

You should go get your back checked out man - I know you went to a chiropractor a while back, but having an MD take a look at it would be good too.

I'm coming to Dallas. :D

 Oh, man - still my favorite line in the entire series.

Good news all - the surgeon said I do not have a hernia and don't appear to need surgery at this point. He says its just a minor tear, like the first doctor initially thought. He said he doesn't really understand why I was referred to him, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

Also, I'm not allowed to lift at all for 2weeks. :( I've been keeping it from healing by lifting, even lightly, apparently. I guess a break will do me good.

So, well, no more workouts for this log, but it's pretty good timing, considering I only have a few days left anyways.

Ok, that will need a little time to heal up. No load bearing exersises for sure. I am sure light cardio would not be a problem right? At least it turned out to be a pretty simple solution R. Heal up big man!

Gracias, my friend. I don't think something like walks or stair-stepper or other light cardio should be a problem, I'll probably be doing that part of the time when I go with BW to the gym.

Minor tear of the connective tissue of my oblique is what he said it was most likely.
Luckily for you, you're not playing football for a 1950's football coach, otherwise he'd tell you to take a salt tablet, rub some dirt on your oblique and get back in line :drillsergeant:

Ok, so this "not working out" thing is already making me chomp at the bit. I'd been planning my next log all summer, I've got the training schedule all worked out, I've got all the supps except the new T-911 but I can't do any of it.

I went to the gym with BW today anyway and just spotted her and taught her a few things: she can now front squat and performs leg curls with feet dorsiflexed for concentric and pointed for eccentric. It was cool being her coach and getting to entirely focus on her while she lifted. And I successfully overcame temptation and didn't lift a single weight.
