Low volume would mean more weight. Nah, young grasshopper, my knees don't like it -and I had some trouble with sciatica recently too.
I always get to the burn. If nothing helps I do quick reps followed by slow-mos. At some point my eyes will fill with tears -the moment I know its enough.
I figured, bodybuilding is just masochistic overreaching, there is always one more rep, no matter if that means snot flying out of your nose or unsolicited moist farts.
Its always the "how you do it", not how often (reps, sets), IMHO. Push ups I do with handles (lifting me 3 inch from the ground) and with legs on a bench. 3-4 sec lowering, explosive up for the first set, quick -almost jumping second set... done. Chest screams.I really like the going until you "triggered the muscle" perpective. Yesterday i was doing some cardio training with friends and wanted to get a quick pump in. We did 3 sets to failure of both pushups and pullups. For whatever reason, i dont feel like i did my job...

Anything works as long as you train intense, I guess. I'm sure there are methods superior to others -but it gives me pleasure to be creative and go by intuition. Yeah. Its wierd how one can know this but still get away from it from time to time. I think our bodies speak to us, we just arent taught to listen. I also think fasting and liftin help you make that connection and start understanding what your body is telling you. I count reps only when I have to post my workouts. Since I go mostly to failure anyway, it doesn't matter how many reps I did -or with what weight. Only if it takes too long I up weights. I swear, I hardly do bench press. If I do, mostly partials (bottom partials) with low-moderate weight. Push ups are my bench substitute. Every now and then I gauge my strength, like yesterday. My numbers are fine, even though I never trained with heavy weights. No idea if my intuitive approach works for others. For me its all about pushing the limit without going heavy, that is all.

I ate it the night before a wrestling match after being a pound under the night before. Hadnt eaten for 4 days, hadn't drank in a day and a half. It was downright magical. Still remember it 17 years later. At the time i was thinking, "who knew an egg on pita was this good!!??" Its never been that good again.Fasting for a week mainly just gave me an appreciation for how spoiled we are in America - you can make very little money and still have access to & be able to afford hyper-palatable food anywhere, anytime.

I did a weird workout the other night for biceps, crazy volume. I started with the bar only for 12 super strict curls, then added 10 kilos, did 12 more, added 10 more kilos, did 12 more, then added increments of 5 kilos and kept doing this until I couldn't hit 12 then immediately made that last set a drop set until I was left with just the bar. Only did the on exercise, only trained biceps. Couldn't tell you how many total sets and reps I did but workout took 30 mins. Not practical for every muscle group but may work for lagging bodyparts or something. Biceps felt it the next day.Full body 3x week-but if I skip a body part, I do more sets of it the next day. Also not doing always 3 sets. IMHO, doing 3 sets is superstition, nothing gym related. I do an exercise until I feel "I triggered the muscle", like lactic acid build up --> failure + 1 more. If I'm less motivated -or wanna keep the workout short, I do only 1 set + 1-2 RP sets, this way, the muscle is on fire faster and I move on.
Sometimes with chest exercises, I have to do at least 4-5 exercises to get to the muscle and feel the burn where I want it to be. I figured legs are easier, just by controlling the speed I can stimulate them enough for growth, doing squats slowly with 90kg x 8-10 (roughly 200lbs) was enough to see some separation after a few weeks.

Tbol with proviron, as tbol lacks the androgenic part. I swear proviron is a game changer for most cycles.I might end up joining you on your TBol adventure... Once I have the other things I am focusing on taken care of I will be ready to roll. That or some MSten... Depends on where I am at mentally, if still a bit stressed and moody I won't risk the MSten just yet. I can't even imagine the kind of rebound I am going to have once I focus back in after 5 months of just doing enough not to fall apart. A lot of my joints definitely feel better right now too. Yesterday was "viernes de soltero" (Singles Friday). Its called this way here. All married man go out on Friday and are single for a day. Past the night dancing with 4 (four!) young ladies (students). I'm getting old, because I suddenly had fatherly feelings and found myself escorting them from the party to the bus, scaring away drunks (instead of having a possible 5-some) .
