Army Guy "Kleens" out the cabinets with LG, AI, PES, USP, and the kitchen sink!

NEW EXERCISE - saw one of the monster guys do these with his monster son. He is a ZZ Top look alike with the beard, but has 21 inch arms and is in his 50's!!!! Simply a monster!!! and his son is close to him as well!
It is a shrug done on the cables. each side at the bottom setting with the handle. The weight is maxed out. Grab each side then stand in the middle and slowly shrug for 5 reps. Then take 2 steps forward and shrug for 5 more (hits the back of the trap) These felt awesome. Will do these regularly now!!!

Leg press - on sled
3 sets of 300 - couldn't go above this even though the weight was VERY easy. On the negative portion the ligaments in the knee sounded like Rice Krispies!!! It wasn't painful, but I stayed there at 300 none the less. The sound made me nervous. Could have done around 600 though... :grumpy: However I will keep this here until the snapping crackling sound goes away... Oh and these were heals to butt too :veryhappy:
Squats - my current nemesis!!!!! ROM just kills me with the knee!!!
did 3 sets with only bodyweight. Complete perfect form as well
then grabbed the bar to get the balance back. Did 2 sets with just the bar. Knee was very shaky, but held up with the ROM. Hopefully will be adding weight again soon :ponder:

popping sound=scar tissue that needs to be cleared so you can regain mobility. Totally harmless. Just don't go crazy.
Yeah that scar tissue sounds nasty when you are going through it but better to get through it early. Don't think 300 is the weight to be going through it with but the Major is gonna do whar he is gonna do.
Yeah, right...what he's NOT telling you is that it was a 405-pound bar. Specially made for him.
LMAO!
:rasp: shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh they already E-kick the crap out of me enough!!!

Probably right tho!

You're wearing a good knee wrap for that knee right? Traps workout sounds interesting, I'm always up for a new way to stimulate my into having camel humps.

lol you must be joking!!!! I did squats with just the BAR!!! :stooges: thanks though!!!
I did have a good shoulder workout... muahahahahahaha :rasp:

Yeah volcom those 300+lb leg presses don't even count as leg exercises!

Perfectly reasonable explanation from AG...

I do those shrugs with cables

great encouragement my friends!!! and yeah I wrap these knees up when doing this. I DO want to start getting off of them with lower weight though. However, I know I will never be able to go heavy without them...

Only had time to do a quick Bicep lift today after PT with the cadets.
Hammer Curls:
4 sets up to 70's. Need to break through this 70 threshold... starting to get a bit frustrating. Only got it for 4 reps. They were perfect though.
Alternating DB curls:
started at 45's and without stopping went all the way down to 25's in 5 lb increments. Last set I putt he weight down, took a 15 sec break, and grabbed them again for 10 more reps. Great pump
Standing Preacher curl with EZ bar-
4 sets up to 115, and then dropped to 75 for 15 to finish off
1 arm cable curls
4 sets
reverse curls
2 sets and then had to bolt...
time to hit the showers!!!

You should grab the 70's, drop back on the incline bench like your setting up for a incline press set, then go, "oh no wait, I'm curling these."

beast with the 70's

:rasp: ok you got me!!! but been there for about a month now :grumpy: hit the 75's once in that time frame, but was totally juiced with Army frustration :ponder:
Man I would love to be able to hit the 80's like TG on the incline curl... With that exercise I can only get the 65's about 5 times...
Not too bad though given that I am on nothing but ASGT at the moment. Next cycle coming soon to a battlefield near YOU!!!! :32:
Muahahahahahahahahaha

Gots to get urself somma dat der Muskle Tech!!

Not if it makes me do that sloppy form... :grumpy:

I use that swing motion to get my DBs into position for shoulder presses! Just posted for the laugh anyway!!:veryhappy:

lol good one, yah the pros often use that kind of form. Doesn't make a lot of sense as most the exercise is in the negative part of that motion...:ponder:

haha great vid. Strong dude any which way though!!!

I agree with the negative portion. Last year in Iraq I learned that for the 1st time with my roommate who was ALL about form and the science behind it. It's hard to go slow down, especially if the weight is heavy!!! but it is worth it for the control!!
don't go on cycle yet man
:ponder: you have my attention... :bigok:

My primary opinion of Henry is that he has one of thee premier back shots in all of bodybuilding. That dude has landscape depth, contour and very aesthetic size from the back.

Given that Henry only does DC, he's probably accustomed to swinging, when everything he does is max effort.

Agree on both points!! Pound for pound one of the best physiques in the biz...

I think allowing for higher weight on eccentric than concentric is one of the really good uses for machines. Its a pity that most machines aren't set up to do that, some are though.

yes, but the ones that are set up for that, alas... the weight is to light. We have to strap plates to them just to get the effect. That's when the old people look at you with those beady eyes angry because you are ruining their equipment ;)

Screw old people!! Wait.........I'm old. Oh shit. :ntome:

Possibly fapping...

I think it has to do with writing thousands of sentences when I was in grade school though. Was a hellraiser.

I saw a simpsons one time where bart moved his wrist around after writing sentences and it made the same noise, lol.

you are nuts!!! lol

ok guys, quick update. Very busy day for Army land on Mondays... booooooooo

Quick chest lift after some ok Army PT

Chest
flat BB bench
5 sets and stayed at 265. Haven't done true bench in many MANY months, need to get this back up... last 2 sets were drop sets
Incline BB Bench
5 sets, and stayed at 225 with the last 2 sets drop sets
Flat Flies
3 sets
A guy wanted help doing drop sets, so I joined in because it looked fun
Flat BB Drops no rest - done with 25's stacked on both sides, so each drop is 50lbs
4 - 25's per side - 5
3 - per side - 5
2 - per side - 10
1 - per side - 20
bar - 25
you guys need to try these. Having them at the end of the workout just pumped the chest like crazy!!!! We agreed that next Monday we will end with 2 sets of those bad boys and start with 5 - 25's per side that is 295 lbs for those of you doing the math :) at the end of the workout that will be BRUTAL!!!! Which is JUST how I like it!!! Muahahahahaha

time to go kick the crap out of some Cadets... AS YOU WERE

Good stuff here AG!! When I wrote out that 5 day split for you, I liked it so much that I put myself on it. ha ha It's nice to concentrate on one bodypart and beat it into submission until it can't take anymore!!

Now go kick the crap outta those candy-ass cadets!!!:buttkick:

I am interested in trying those drop sets with quarters. Sounds pretty intense at the end of a workout.

My last workout partner insisted on drop sets on leg day. It was not abnormal to still be walking awkwardly 3+ days later, lol.

yeah those are just nuts. The fact that the bar gets heavy at the end is the best part! Simply brutal! The guy and I alternated, so he did his entire push first, and then it was my turn. Like I said, we will do it twice next time. One full rotation each, load the bar, and then hit it again. The entire rotation takes around 2 minutes, so that is not much of a break to kill that again on the 2nd round!!!

Ok was going to do Arms today, but some pansy weight lifting class came into the gym today as I was finishing biceps, and they had too many people. They had people on every station... and they were all the small guys and fat chicks... boooooooooo One kid asked if I was the instructor, and I told him if I was he wouldn't have gumby arms like those!!! He actually laughed and shook my hand!!! Heart of a "Rudy" right there!!!

Biceps:
Hammer Curls DB
again only up to 70's and for 5 reps on those :(
DB Alternating curls with NO rest
started at 50's for 12 and then dropped all the way to 25's in 5 lb increments. After the 25's, shook the arms for 15 seconds, and grabbed the 35's. Nailed 8 more. Was SWOLE at that point
EZ Curl Bar Preacher Curls
4 sets up to 115. Did 5's (5 reps per) and the 115 was just too easy. Will go up to 125 next time - drop sets with 85 repped 15 times
Hercules Curls
4 sets
Isolation curls DB
40's x 2 sets :( this is when the tools started coming in... sooooo moved back to cables
Cable Curls:
4 sets and then the instructor started giving me dirty looks because the students needed the station. I took an extra long rest before my last set, and did that set VERY slow... smiled at the guy and walked out!!!

On a side note, all the supps are gone except the HGHPro. BOOOOOOOOOO going to start another cycle here soon of something. I have so many supps in my cabinet that I still haven't figured out what will be next...
Will check everyone's logs today. Been swamped with work here with the semester starting and the college kids driving me insane... We have the rappel tower this week, so getting that all put together...

Something that I have considered is Natadrol and MMV3 for 6 weeks. Run the Nata at 8 caps the whole time and MMV3 4-6/day. Fun recomp/strength stack that will leave you dry and hard as a rock after 6 weeks. I am planning on the Trifecta next but this is definitely going to be ran in the not too distant future.

Lol i know the feeling im 3 weeks into nata which is awesome and everytime i get out of my car i see a trifecta stack in the backseat and i get a chub, although on second thought that might be from the natadrol :0.o:

rudy, Rudy, RUDY, RUDY! RUDY!! RUDY!!!

Alright, I need to try to go heavier on curls this week to see what all the fuss is about. AG's having all the fun in here with the heavy weights.

I like Obar Curls for my heavy sets...

I used to do the same, but the pressure on the inner elbow just kills those now...

Yah I am using wraps now so far so good... another thing that helps me is to not squeeze the bar so much grip wise. It's hard not to when the weight is heavy though. I don't do anything under 5 reps anymore though and not too often that low.

yeah I can only go that low when using DBs. I wonder if it would work for me to wrap the elbows and then use straps to take even more weight off the grip... something to think about... It is a great feeling walking to a bench where guys are benching 135 and ask if you can work in a few sets, and they say sure. But then you grab the bar and start curling it... man the looks on their faces are priceless!!!

 poor kid.

You never know, sounds like the major was an inspiration to the lad!

Perhaps major, you need to see if you can meet up with "rudy" again, give him another inspirational message and then report back to us.... Better still get him to join AM and we can make him a project!

lol yeah I saw him this morning again. He was with a few of his buddies. They were doing behind the head military presses with the bar, AND with horrible form... said their weight lifting "Teacher" told them this would make their "Backs" huge...:dunno: :pat:
anyways, I corrected their issue, and went about doing back

Back
DL
5 sets and willed myself to stay at the 315 mark for the heaviest set. It is frustrating not being able to have the leg strength as quickly as I would like it... stupid knee...
Pull ups
5 sets with the different hand angles
Wide grip pull downs
4 sets and only got to 240...
seated rows
4 sets and intentionally kept the heavy sets at 200 to get an extra push
then had to bolt...

I will say this. I am off all supps right now, and it is coming through... :grumpy: the fury and drive to push out extra reps is just not as strong as it has been all summer. Not a mental thing, but a physical one. The plan is to ride it out for the next 2 weeks while my body readjust and receptors normalize, and then go back for another 3 month run...
Going to be a llllllloooooooooonnnnnnnnngggggg 2 weeks... :rasp:
