BUT, I will take a heaping helping of Hill Sprints on this heap of a hill.

It may not look like too much, it is only a hill after all. Really more of a bank considering it is the levy / bank of the bayou. From top to bottom is an estimated 40 yards, the bottom of the hill is about a 40 degree slope and at the top I would say it is closer to a 55-60 degree incline. The last 10 yards at the top takes a sharp turn up and man it would kill me at the end of the uphill sprint starting about sprint number 3. Normally I give myself a little more rest by running up then walking over about 30 yards and walk down then turn around and run back up. Today I was in the mood to push it so I nix'ed the walks over and just walked down the hill using a deliberate heel to toe roll to work the quads more. When I got to the bottom immediately turned and sprinted back up, then turned immediately to walk back down. The walk to the bayou was my warm up it is about a mile from my work. So I walked it briskly, then I did 10 of these, then walked about a 1/4 mile the other way then turned around and walked (a little less briskly) back to work.
Now for the fun part of this. While I was running I saw these two young bucks come up. Athletic guys started doing some drills. I noticed them pointing at me when I was walking back down the hill. I kept on going, doing my thing. When I was almost done with my sprints they started walking over by where I was and stopped at the bottom of the hill about 20 yards off to the side of where i was running. Now I was doing my last run out of the 10 I had planned and I noticed them getting into a "starting position" and waiting. The closer I got to where I turned around at the bottom and ran I noticed they were really watching me. As I turned around and was taking off I noticed they both took off running as soon as I took my first step back up the hill. DAMN IT! They are racing me! Son of a bitch! I have nothing left, and I will be damned if some High School or College kid is gonna just make me look bad on my last sprint of the day! I am not sure where i go the burst from but I started kicking so hard I lost traction for a second. As i see the lead they have start to grow from me losing traction I just get more competitive. No fugging way I am getting smoked to the top of this hill! I gave everything I had left to get up that hill passing them probably 5 yards from the top of the hill. I stood at the top of the hill for a second looking over at them, both shaking their heads confused. I smile and nod at them; then turn to walk away hoping my legs didn't buckle under me ruining my Alpha Male moment.
I owe some of the motivation for these wind sprints to reading Army's log about smoking those guys. I just wanted to feel that again. I definitely was smoked so it worked out really well.
Oh yeah, this session was also motivated by 1 Motivate, 1 A-T2, and 1.5 scoops of AS-GT! Probably why I was still able to smoke those boys at the END of my sprints. Sorry still feeling pretty ALPHA from that.
