What's the last thing you ate??

3 whole eggs
3 egg whites
3/4 cup oats
1/4 cup blue berries
1 cup almond milk
1 scoop choc. PB protein for flava.....

I feel today could be a cheat meal... A Pizza sounds good... Very good... So good I already ordered it and I'll let ya know how it was ;)

Ok i can officially post about it its a chicken spinach and onion pizza (might sound gross to you but if thats the case **** you LOL) with light on the sauce... MMMMM I could probably eat this whole thing but I'd feel pretty guilty ;)

I love horrible cheat meals it makes me look forward to eating clean for another week

6 oz chicken, 2 wraps, slice mozzerella, slice pepperjack, salsa, sour cream, hot sauce, blue cheese, small salad

so to follow up on a previous discussion, i found that many types of fruit like bananas, oranges, any berries...actually contain a 50/50 ratio of fructose to glucose. banana for example has 20 something grams of carbs out of which 5 g fructose and 5 g glucose. so there you have it. since its kind of hard to deplete your full glycogen stores completely, i can easily replenish liver AND muscle glycogen from like 3 bananas Post WO and whatever carbs I eat the next day before my next workout. just like that, no difference and i can avoid drinking processed carbs and eating nutrition-less oats and crap.

5 eggs scrambled with onions, spinach, deli turkey and cheese.. and a whole wheat bagel

2 cans of tuna with lemon pepper and a handful of club crackers

whole pint of blue bell vanilla- about 20 oreos and some milk

cheat day

shouldnt have done it as my cheat day was 2 days ago but I got the itch

the high GI fruit carbs cause enormous insulin spike

true the oats dont nourish, but what about the insoluble fiber that helps digestion?

i dont eat 300 grams of carbs a day or anything, but i do eat whole wheats and oats in my first 2-3 meals a day

Edit: i meant fiber doesnt nourish

are u saying oats have no nutritional value in a body builders diet?

if you review the last 2 pages of this thread youll see that anton has conveyed his theory that there is no need for an "excessive" amount of carbs in a diet and that all carbs can be obtained by consuming strictly fruits and veggies.... and that oats, brown rice, whole wheat, sweet potatoes and the likes are all uneeded sources of carbs

in my last post i was referring to the fiber being non-nutritional, but still being important

well the difference is the glycemic load. sure the fruit has a high GI because of the sugar content, but there is no spike from fructose which has to be processed through the liver and the glucose..well the glucose will get digested in the gut and replenish the muscle glycogen. because of the glycemic load it would also take a whole lot more fruit to cause the same spike as a much smaller amount of processed sugar, dextrose, maltodextrin, skittles, etc. when you look up a GI of a food in the gov database for example, the glycemic load value is listed to the right of it.

the insoluble fiber isnt necessary for good digestion. since ive been eating mostly meat/veg/fish, my volume, for a lack of a better word has greatly decreased. this is because grains contain so much insoluble fiber that you are essentially pooping them all out. meat, vegetables, fruit all contain plenty of fiber to stay regular. i go a whole lot less now and my digestive system feels empty and great all the time.

there are many things we've been told over the years about nutrition that have been proven wrong with recent research. i mean the whole battle against saturated fat and cholesterol is still backed by the "Lipid hypothesis" which was written in 1950. since then we've done many studies validating that most of our tissues are actually made of saturated fat, its called saturated because of little room for oxidation which is a million times better for you than rancid plant oils, saturated fat is required for testosterone production, there is no connection between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol, your liver actually produces less cholesterol the more you eat and more the less you eat, etc etc i can go on all day

so maybe its about time we look at the research about the negative effects of grains rather than just taking uncle sam's word to get your 5-11 servings of whole grains a day.

What meats contain plenty of fiber? ................

actually you're right meat doesnt have any fiber, i must have been tired when i wrote that and it slipped in. all that insoluble fiber you get from grains will come out the same way it came in, will make your stool larger and speed up the whole process. the name of the game, however, isnt speed but bacteria. you dont wanna run the cycle too fast or too often because with it comes out the bacteria.
so the point is, you wanna eat more soluble fiber and less insoluble because it will just enhance the thickness of the stomachs contents but doesnt add that much mass to it. im telling you i go maybe once a day and feel nice and empty never constipated, and i eat much more food than i did before i went primal.

Yes, the AHA has lied to us again. I suppose......

Yes. there is absolutely no proof that saturated fat or dietary cholesterol will cause heart desease. they base their arguements on extremely outdated research. but hey to each is own, stick to the government food pyramid and egg whites..i hope its given you all the results you desired.

Yes, to each his own. I eat egg yolks and meat, but moderation is key to healthy life style.

I am still with you about carbs and their essentiality but from all the evidence ive seen, heart disease related to dietary intake of fat is completely dependent on an individuals liver function and how their body packages lipids

other things that contribute are oxidized rancid trans fats like vegetable oils and a bad omega 3 to 6 ratio
