I am not sure where they get their data, but there is a plethora of data showing that they are beneficial in healthy men. Unless you are going after females it would seem that in today's chemically laden society these things are very good for you in general. (I know you were being sarcastic of course)

PATERSON, N.J. (CN) - Nutrex advertises its dietary supplements as "all natural," but uses drugs in them, including an amphetamine, which is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency, according to a class action in Passaic County Court.
The class sued Nutrex Research, its president and founder Jeffrey A. McCarrell, and its vice president and co-founder Jens Ingenohl, all of Oviedo, Fla.
The two men "formulated the product," and sell them as "Lipo-6 Hers," "Lipo-6 Black" and "Ignite," according to the complaint.
The class claims Nutrex pushes the products as "sports nutritional supplements" that "burn fat and allow people to lose weight ... as a result of the ****tail of natural stimulants and other ingredients."
But the key ingredient in all the products is a substance called "methylsynephrine," which is "another name for a prescription drug called Oxilofrine," according to the complaint. It adds that Oxilofrine is "a stimulant drug of the amphetamine class" that was developed and "used to treat low blood pressure."
Oxilofrine "is a metabolite of methoxymethamphetamine," commonly known as PMMA, which is "an illegal designer drug that is considered a banned substance in numerous countries" and has "been responsible for deaths of numerous people," according to the complaint.
The class claims that Oxilofrine "is considered a performance-enhancing drug" and "is classified as a banned substance by both the World Anti-Doping Agency and the United States Anti-Doping Agency."
It claims that "testing of [Nutrex's products] by gas chromatography confirms" the presence of Oxilofrine.
The fact that "methylsynephrine equals Oxilofrine ... is common knowledge in the sports nutrition industry, given the suspension of numerous athletes" who took products containing it, and then tested positive for banned substances, according to the complaint.
They plaintiffs say that Nutrex knows about the problem, but continues to "falsely advertise" that its products are "all natural," that they do not affect blood pressure and that they do not contain banned substances.
The class seeks damages for fraud. It is represented by Donald Boshada with Milstein, Adelman & Kreger of Elmwood Park, N.J

This goes back a ways - It was my first mail order supplement, what an experience. (This is not my own writing)

An entrepreneur named Tom Ciola came up with the idea of using all of the popular ingredients and combining them in a freeze-dried glandular protein base (yum). Herbs like yohimbe were added for their "stimulative" effect so the consumer would "feel" the concoction working. He called it Hot Stuff, and it became an overnight success. Hot Stuff flew off the shelves! Stores couldn't restock fast enough. It seemed as if a supplement finally had been developed that mimicked the effects of steroids. Was it a synergistic effect of all the combined nutrients that made Hot Stuff so effective? Or was it something more?

There have been accusations alluded to by several unrelated sources (who wish to remain anonymous for obvious reasons) that in order for Hot Stuff to "make sure" that its initial release would create a stir, it had to contain an additional ingredient not listed on the can. Something that would leave no doubt of its effectiveness in the user's mind. Something that would bring them back for more. Rumor has it that this "something" was methyltestosterone.

Methyltestosterone is an inexpensive form of orally absorbable testosterone that works quickly and effectively to raise strength and aggression. It's also extremely liver toxic. It would appear to be a good choice as an added ingredient for another reason: it's undetectable in a drug test. The "insiders" theory is that, even if the FDA somehow found out about the drug being used, all of the canisters would already be sold. An inspection of the National Health (makers of Hot Stuff) facility would show no wrongdoing. No evidence has ever been found to substantiate these claims. The rumors seem far-fetched, to say the least, but there was a period when Hot Stuff was pulled from the shelves for reasons that have always been mired in ambiguity. There was a "new and improved" version released shortly thereafter, but anyone familiar with the "first" Hot Stuff will tell you that the new one never quite duplicated the characteristic "kick" of the original

I can confirm the last sentence as true from personal experience.

Ok, I tried an old one, now I'll try a newer one, from this Sept.

Prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Colorado charged Axis Labs on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Denver. Axis Labs is accused of “being involved” in the making and selling their supplement Monster Caps, which the company purported was a dietary supplement that didn’t need to be prescribed by a doctor. Monster Caps actually contained undeclared anabolic steroids (likely just a prohormone) and were intended “to affect the structure and function of the human body,” which made the product a regulated drug needing FDA approval to be sold, investigators alleged.

“It is critically important that consumers know the contents of what they are consuming,” said John Walsh, U.S. Attorney for Colorado, in a press release. “In this case, the product contained synthetic anabolic steroids, and because of its potential for harm, it was a prescription drug that could only be dispensed pursuant to a valid prescription.”

An investigation involving the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found Axis Labs mailed Monster Caps throughout the United States in 2008 and 2009 to customers ordering them over the Internet, authorities allege. Axis Labs faces a fine of up to $500,000 if convicted on the mail fraud count.

methyltestosterone is no more liver toxic than your average oral steroid. it also is most certainly not undetectable (and that includes back in the late 80s when Hot Stuff was sold.
 
A federal grand jury has indicted a Salt Lake County man for simply wanting to help America get erect! The man was charged for his part in manufacturing and selling erectile dysfunction “supplements” that were marketed as “100 percent natural” but which allegedly contained Viagra-related drugs. Kelly “Stiff Dick” Dean Harvey and a Murray-based company initially called TSN Labs Inc. and later renamed Novacare LLC, imported a product containing sulfoaildenafil from China for use in “dietary supplements” marketed under various names, including “Stiff Nights,” “Size Matters,” “Natural Wow” and “OMG.”

Court documents allege that between November 2006 and May 2010, Harvey and anunnamed co-conspirator imported 39 orders of Ophioglossum Thermale (OT) from Shandong, China-based Rizhao Sunan Trading Co. Ltd., with each order ranging in size from 1 to 75 kilograms. TSN and Novacare accounts paid out about $931,000 for the OT transactions, court documents revealed.Harvey had two U.S. labs test OT, and while the product contained no sildenfal citrate (Viagra), varedenafil (Levitra) or tadalafil (Cialis), a sildenafil drug analogue called sulfoaildenafil did show up. The use of sulfoaildenafil would have subjected TSN and Novacare’s supplements to regulation by the FDA. But Harvey did not share those test results with the federal agency, the indictment says. In February 2009, the FDA warned that these erectile dysfunction supplements that were being sold online could contain prescription drugs that carry harmful side effects. However, “Stiff Nights” was billed online as a dietary supplement that was 100 percent natural and safe. And labeling of the product failed to list OT as an ingredient, the indictment says.The website, stiffnights.com, said the product differed from Viagra because it was a nutritional supplement that “uses only all natural ingredients.”"Stiff Nights is not a drug,” the website claimed, touting that “many users report a better experience than Viagra because Stiff Nights also increases the male sex drive and somehow increases a male’s endurance,” court document say.

Superior Metabolic Technologies Inc of Marietta, Georgia is voluntarily recalling all lots of the testosterone booster Uprizing 2.0 because tests have shown the product appears to contain superdrol, a synthetic steroid, making it an unapproved new drug.

On August 5 the FDA made Superior Metabolic Technologies Inc aware that Uprizing 2.0 contains superdrol which is banned by the FDA. This led to the recall of the product.

Acute liver injury is known to be a possible harmful effect of using products containing synthetic anabolic steroids. In addition, use of synthetic anabolic steroids may cause other serious long-term adverse health consequences in men, women, and children. These include shrinkage of the testes and male infertility, masculinization of women, breast enlargement in males, short stature in children, a higher prediction to misuse other drugs and alcohol, adverse effects on blood lipid levels, and increased risk of heart attack, stroke, and death.

Uprizing 2.0 was distributed through retail health food stores in Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Mississippi, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Texas.

Uprizing 2.0 comes in a black plastic bottle with a black, red, and silver label and contains 90 capsules. The SMT logo is center top on the bottle.

Consumers who purchased Uprizing 2.0 are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-888-445-3230, from 10 AM to 6 PM EST Monday through Friday.

Wow. Never heard of sibutramine. Ive used Hot Stuff on a couple shows - but I hate it and never doing so again. Not because of this but just because it ruins my stage color and smells funky.
