How many breaths do you take between RP sets? - Call me weird, but 15 deep breaths is equivalent to the time I take between normal sets. I don't even like calling them RP sets. A RP set to me has always been a very short pause; maybe 10 seconds. 15 breaths isn't that short of a time-frame.
True. I agree. The time you take taking deep breaths are indeed equivalent to regular rest times. The difference to me is you are taking really deep breaths and relaxing for a moment...kinda like yoga. Then, hitting it hard again!
My times vary but for the most part it is 15-20 breaths, depending on how winded I got from the previous set. Sometimes, I go to 30 if I feel I need it, want it, or I am distracted by the Milf doing split squats in the corner.
What does DC say the reasoning behind the breathing is? Just curious, I know a few breathing methods from fighting and what not that may apply. Especially if it is a clearing breathe for being gassed.

I am forcefully breathing like you described in the second one. I like the forced exhaling idea. I'll have to give that at try.
Cool I think you will like that, when I am gassed out from rolling that is my first breath as soon as i can control it. Make sure to exhale so hard your damn near wheezing, that way you know you have expelled all of the CO2 from your bronchial sacks. You will be tempted to immediately gasp for air after that breathe but don't gasp, keep control of it.

How do you perform the tricep stretch with weight?
Do you do this for every r/p set? or just the last or first?
I only dont use straps for the tricep stretch. No need. My shoulder can only handle so much weight. And my grip has no problem holding onto 40lbs for 60-90 seconds. Other stretches, hell yes I use straps. As for the breathing, I agree. I dont do DC to the T and I know this. I am doing what I have learned to work best for me. 12-15 deep breaths only wasnt doing much for me. I wasn't excelling the way I am now. I am now like 7 lbs heavier (I think) from when I started DC. So I think I have a good handle on it. We all have to figure out what's best for us. Im learning to listen to my body more and more and it's making working out more fun and interesting.Really met, you don't use straps for your stretches? I can get SOOO much deeper with wraps.
The DC standard for breaths taken is 12 deep breaths. It should be about 30 seconds give or take a few seconds. That is much shorter than my typical rest period of maybe 1 minute - 1 minute 30 seconds when I am training volume.
Taking too many breaths I would think would take away from the point of DC training.
Well I haven't done DC but I would try it during any pause where you are supposed to be doing the deep breathing. We do it for fighting because rolling is extremely anaerobic in nature. Lost of Lactic Acid build up and lots of CO2 build up. Getting gassed comes along with it. The clearing breathe simply makes all of the following breathes more efficient at supplying oxygen creating a higher MaxVo2. I would definitely do it with the major lifts, not sure if there is much need for it in smaller lifts. Unless of course you are kind of holding your breathe when you are lifting then I would do it anyway.
I do about 5 big deep breathes before every set I do though. I have always done that. I didn't understand the science behind it before but 3-5 fast big deep breaths before every set just kind of got engrained in me for some reason.
awesome workout man!!! I was really into rest pausing way before starting DC. So I know how awesome it is to do it with high Volume. Is this something you are considering keeping up with?

I am sorry but a test booster isn't recommended for a woman. If she chooses to use it that is up to her of course but not recommending it.

Fair enough, and as a business owner I truly understand your stance. It is not widely accepted practice and may not be something you would want to advocate as a business owner who could be held liable by less scrupilous people. I respect your stance and am enjoying the product so far.
Yet your second suggestion. HMMMMM.... I had already thought of it but didn't want to burn any bridges by doing that. As much as I am enjoying the product I may let her have a go at it, or get her some bulk Testofen and Divinal, without the estrogen modulator.
