Gym names...

Hey guys,

So, my brother-in-law are opening up a fitness studio in Brooklyn, NY. Its going to be a type of one-on-one training facility. We have a handful of trainers ready to work and all other preparations are in the process.

We're still looking for names. I thought it would be a good idea to get some feedback from people here.

Give me a few good names for a fitness studio that you would go into. Something that when asked whats the name of the gym you go to... you can say with no embarassment, I go to ___________.

lol no...something simple always works for me, NY Fitness, or Team (insert last name) Fitness, jsut my opinion

Or hell you could could it "Drive" or "Driven" "Club Drive" then have a "New You" program, a "Crucible" bootcamp, and so one, and so on.

I plan to open a gym, so I usually play around with ideas already.

I dont know the people there, so I dont know what would really "grab" them.

Ass Busters (might depend on the neighborhood for acceptance there)
Ball Busters (I like dis one.)

Personally, I'd just call it "The Gym". Think of it, it writes itself!

"Where ya goin?" "The Gym"
"Where you train?" "The Gym"
"Last night I was checkin out this cardio hottie at 'The Gym'".

It just WORKS!!!


(5% royalties to me if you pick that name.) :D

Sheepshead... I think brooklyn barbell is taken... plus, we need something that doesn't narrow down the demographic. The wider the better. Maybe later we can tailor to a particular demographic, but for now everyone should feel welcome.
 
I say def have the word gym in the name if its a "hardcore" place but if its more of a place for people looking for help like it sounds like go with something that has fitness in the name. Will probably attract the crowd u r looking for better this way.

I would go with a name which indicates the purpose of the gym. In this case, the focus seems to be on individualized training programs, and a key focus on trainer-trainee interaction: as a result, I would go for names that evoke this focus:

Singular Fitness - This works because "singular" not only indicates individual, but also exceptional.

Protégé/Prodigy Fitness

In Focus Training Center - This works either with or without the "In."

Nucleus Training - Again, the customer is the center/focus of the gym itself.

This sounds good. I dunno about Nucleus though... You'd be surprised how many people would misinterpret that.
