Old Fugger Ready to take on all challengers...Transfomation time!!!

I have spoken with him and he is a very cool guy. He is not caught up in himself. I have also bumped into a couple of times riding a bike instead of some flashy sports car. I do think he has more than 1 ex LOL.

Kewl, that is good to know! I have experienced a lot of people who get hung up on themselves and whether they have a reason to be or not, I don't like it. I really like it when someone has a reason to be stuck on themselves, but are not... HUMBLE!!!

A perfect example, I played football at LSU in 1992 and Shaq hard already left for the NBA, but he did come back to visit a couple of times and he was out in the parking lot of the Athletic dorm and I was just a freshman and one of the Seniors introduced us and he just said, "Hey.. nice to meet you!" ok, no big deal, but as I was walking away, in no way did he try and keep me from hearing, he said to the same guy who introduced us... "Who is he... WTF, why are you introducing me to him, don't do that to me again!" Like I was a nobody, I mean I wasn't even four feet away from them yet! Sorry, but that is just an A$$ thing to do/say!

I am so NOT surprised to hear that... most pro sports people I have met are to some degree like that sadly. Musicians aren't, heck I hung out backstage more than once and everyone was super chill and happy to have some people to spend time with that liked their music. And we all enjoyed the shared herb but that is neither here nor there :deal:

Hey herbs are good bro, nothing wrong there... I mean I love cooking with some good Thyme and Basil leaves, a little Oregano here or there! I'm from N.O. that's what I'm talking about... "Let's take it up a notch... anotha notch!!! "BAM!"

Very wise indeed. If you don't already, I'd suggest keeping a training log/journal at the gym with you with your weights already printed out that you will use that session. Add 5% for the next week's workout for that same bodypart. I find that if it's written down, I'm more likely to adhere to it and not throw caution to the wind and load on more 45's!! :laugh2:
Excellent advice Thunder!
More great advice, I always keep a journal/log when I am doing a serious cut or bulking phase. If nothing else it is a more accurate way of keeping track of my progress.. Great idea!
Yeah, but imagine the progress you would make if you kept one at all times.
I have a spreadsheet already done....
Nice! I have one I keep my stuff in, and one when I do HST with the planned increases but otherwise I tend to wing it some times. I am definitely going to make one for the remainder of my recovery. I will be starting my 12 reps phase on upper body this coming week and I need something to keep me from just throwing 225 on the bar in a week or two and trying to hit 12 and blow my shoulder out again by not letting it get strengthened up first.

Nope he has too many rides in the elevator for that. LOL

Yah I have to change my whole outlook toward lifting, I can't press for big lifts anymore those days are gone. Maybe I can ease may way up though...

Hell...you got that DW...no problem big guy :bigok:

Yah and I don' t plan on making it one....

Yeah, but imagine the progress you would make if you kept one at all times.

Alright Dude, you are like 10/10, you can't be this insightful and right all the time, Damn... LoL That too is great advice, what can I say, I'm just being Lazy I guess, but you are totally right! I just feel like saying... "Sir..Yes-Sir... May I have another!"

Remember to take as small of steps to get back to your normal weights as possible. More points of adaptation means more growth. Sure you could be extremely aggressive and get back to your old weights quickly. Then you may miss some opportunity for extra growth as well as put your joints under fire. Since they wont be used to the heavy weight and their ability to strengthen or thicken back up is slower than your muscle you want to be careful and build up the weight slower than what you can. Will be a great time to practice the slower reps and slightly shorter ranges of motion on certain exercises.

I reason that is Very good insight and I never thought of the tendon thing with gaining a bunch of bodyfat. The number one mistake guys do after their first show is gain a bunch of fat. I did it.

Doug your doing amazing things 99.9 % of people your age are not doing. Hell, I think its like 99.9 percent of people that go into a gym will never compete, let alone be your age and still be jacked and competitive in bodybuilding shows. Big ups to your effort because it has, is and will pay off

Chris is very intuitive and offers some things I have not thought of. Although, someone probally would have discovered them one way or another. ideas are all around us if we reach out and grab them. Look for them, I do and it pays off

I don't log the way I used to but I do use a spreadsheet to map out what I am doing almost all the time. I pretty much remember the weight/where I am at. If I don't it will be in one of my spreadsheets...

As far as off season fat gain goes I have never been able to maintain off season discipline for the whole year. I always lose it somewhere. Lean gains allows me the freedom I need to hold discipline. Right now I am at recomp levels but I could probably take this up another 300-400 calories ed and still not gain much in the way of fat. Recomp is not that bad as it is the extra calories during a maintenance stage will give me tremendous freedom.

Bottom line is this recomp should take be to around 8% very slowly, I can still see improvements so I know it is working well. So I can finally start a prep where I need to be.

Thanks I know I am a rare breed and take pride in that. I just refuse to grow old... If I have to age then there is going to be a fight!!

Chris is very intuitive and offers some things I have not thought of. Although, someone probally would have discovered them one way or another. ideas are all around us if we reach out and grab them. Look for them, I do and it pays off

Yah sharing of ideas is what keeps me going and I use a lot of Chris's ideas and insights. He does the research and I try to apply it to my situation. When we bounce the ideas back and forth new insight springs up. Ideas need a sounding board to mature...

I continue to see improvement, some of it may be tightening and possibly some slight fat loss. The calories I am takinig in are at recomp level so this is no suprise. Diet is quite easy, although I get hungry after the second meal on nwd's and the third is usually around 7pm and it just barely satisfies me.

I have started back on Tor 30 mg ed. Seems I can already feel a difference. This Tor tastes ok too..

I also started back up with a full body application of collagen elastin cream. This stuff really seems to work fast and gives the skin a very soft feel...It's amazing with dry skin...

I ordered some Cjc 1295(MOD GRF 1-29) (no dac) 2mg and GHRP – 2 5mg and will use it for anti-aging properties and my shoulder. I will do it IM into my bad shoulder. Chris mentioned 300 mcg of GHRP-2 so that should bring me 120mcg of MOD GRF 1-29. I have enough to carry me past the contest. Almost 5 months should have some good effect.

There is a possibility of some other surprises, either way stay tuned for a colossal contest prep log with pic updates about every 3 weeks detailing a monumental shredding!!

I really think that kicking in early with my herbals has made this PCT almost a non-issue and Osta seems to be keeping my strength up. I have seen some logs where they run the herbals right through cycle, I may consider this if it makes sense. Either way I will always start them 10 to 12 days before the end, cuz this is just great...

Hey, did montreal riot last night????

Just figured i'd ask....Been loving the playoffs so far!

Just figured i'd ask....Been loving the playoffs so far!

Yah it's over for us and Canuck games are on so late....don't know how much more I'll watch... I would watch the nucks if the games didn't start at 10pm...

Sad part is i hate the canucks because there fans are so rediculous....Been a Sens fan for years due to an east coast rivalry with the rest of my family.

Yah I have to change my whole outlook toward lifting, I can't press for big lifts anymore those days are gone. Maybe I can ease may way up though...

You can get back into some big lifts just make sure to keep extra in the tank. If you stay where you have 2 reps in the tank and progress slowly but continuously. YOu can probably actually far surpass some of the weights that have caused you problems the past couple years because you went at them to quickly and with too much intensity. Adding 5-10 lbs to a lift when you were already pushing really hard to get the weight you used the last workout is just adding too much at one time. Weight progression is weight progression, you don't have to leave your guts on the floor just do hard work and stop once you have to grind for a rep even when you know you could really grind out 1 or 2 more. Now of course do things like hold the weight at lockout for a few seconds take a breath or two and go for the next once but if you feel you may squirm anyway then don't do that next rep EVER! Look at things that power lifters do as well like on the 5-3-1 routine find your max weight for a rep range then take 90% of that and make that your the max you base all of you rlifts off of. It is a built in safety net. Far too often a lot of us get into the no pain no gain mentality. There should never be pain. Soreness yes, pain no. Getting an extra rep is not worth taking a risk. So add weight in small increments, stop on the last rep you can guarantee yourself you can do safely and you will be able to progress longer and without injury. Also avoid going too deep in shoulder movements, don't do lateral raises heavy, just for pumping the muscle full of blood. Since your knees are playing hell on you stay just above parallel when squatting or front squatting and just go a little heavier it will be much safer and you won't lose any growth opportunity from cutting out 3-4 inches of that range of motion where almost all squatting injuries occur.

Alright Dude, you are like 10/10, you can't be this insightful and right all the time, Damn... LoL That too is great advice, what can I say, I'm just being Lazy I guess, but you are totally right! I just feel like saying... "Sir..Yes-Sir... May I have another!"
Why yes you may! I am giving. LOL No I am the same way I just not got it in my head regarding logging all the time just a few years ago, but my intensity led me down a path of injury for 2 years and I have been studying the heck out of how to train hard now and keep making progress without injuring myself again.
I reason that is Very good insight and I never thought of the tendon thing with gaining a bunch of bodyfat. The number one mistake guys do after their first show is gain a bunch of fat. I did it.

Well the tendon thing is more to do with the huge increase in strength that comes along with the increase in calories, and the body super compensating for it. The muscle bounces back extremely quickly and normally to even higher levels of LBM but if you jump the weight back up with it suddenly you are doing 50 lbs more for the same reps on bench and Ouch my shoulder hurts, or 75 lbs more on squat and throw your back out. Collagen production decreases in times of fasting or continued caloric deprivation so they need time to recuperate too and since circulation in white tissue is so minimal that restoration of prior strength and thickness takes longer than the muscle does to do the same.

Chris is very intuitive and offers some things I have not thought of. Although, someone probally would have discovered them one way or another. ideas are all around us if we reach out and grab them. Look for them, I do and it pays off
Thanks John!

Don't do the part in bold, stay your course. If you get to a true 8% before the beginning of the prep then add in 200 cals per day each week until you notice a little fat accumulation then back down to the prior caloric level and hold until prep starts. That way if there is time to gain a little LBM you can but if not you don't put yourself in a fire fight. Remember that even though not being ridiculously strict you are indeed in prep right now for your contest so treat it methodically. Once you picked the show and decided you were going to do it you began your prep. June is just when you are going to really tighten the screws. Done slowly you can increase LBM during your prep. Hanging out for 6 weeks around 5% and slowly increasing LBM or not losing is an awesome thing to have going on.

Well one thing that is nice with the herbals is that say Testopro would free up more of the androgens due to tying up the SHBG and modulating Estrogen. A huge benefit on or off cycle.

I am so gonna have to get me some of that St Ives collagen cream. I noticed today when stretching that my loose skin is hanging down when in a push up position. When i pulled it tight my abs looked pretty damn nice too! Tightening it up will make a huge difference in appearance.

Yah I already so a lot of preventitive stuff with lifting, going to form failure and what not, just have to leave my ego at the door and work patiently. I like that idea cuz I am tired of the pain in my joints..

Yah I am staying the course going down to 8% and starting a 15 week prep mid june for a show on Sept 24th... I am going to start by increasing my protein, slightly droping my calories once every couple weeks. I will hit 5% by 3 weeks out or sooner and cruise to drop another percent if I can... slow and steady.

Yah I agree about testopro on cycle an swesome PCT I am having and I think it would make the cylce better as well, run it right through with forma and cycle support... you're golden.

Yah early indication has this cream working better than anything I have used so far but we'll have to see what happens over the long haul..

Excellent on all accounts! Back that stopping point up to 1 rep before form failure and see how that works to prevent injury and joint pain. If growth is the goal that will work excellently.

That's more or less what I was doing late in the prep for this contest. I have been thinking going this way for a while.

Great plan you have there Doug and good to hear about the St. Ives, I need to look for that as I am slowly dropping midsection fat now and loose skin is not in the summer plans!

Not such an issue at your age with you still having a lot of collagen in your skin.

Makes sense Dante Trudel (Dc inventor) used to write on these things and I often wondered the why behind it..now I understand a bit more.

Yah another reason not to lift too much during prep, that's the only time I feel back discomfort, I always thought it might me less fat and less support for the joints.

If you dont mind me asking what is the collegan cream used for? Is it used to tighten up the loose skin in a person?

Yes that is why he is using it, it also help fill in wrinkles and thin skin in older people as well. Only thing I mind is that my own Bro doesn't hardly ever show his face in my log. PPPPLLLLBBBBTTTT!!!!!! :rasp: :rasp: :rasp:

Don't feel bad, mine doesn't either. I welcomed him to AM and the whole gang said hi to him, but all he does is read now. No contributions......

Decent workout last night, It's hard to get used to doing less, I feel it's affecting my intensity somehow. I am so used to going all out I guess I'll just have to get used to it, just a mental thing...

I managed to work in a Pizza night on my diet so if I skimp a bit on my other meals I'm fine.

Whan I was working out Saturday's meal plan I ntoticed if I eat just egg whites and chicken in my first meal I have all kinds of wiggle room with my other meals and it's easy to keep the protein high. This is good to know for when I start my contest dieting....

True, that day you could get away with a lot more.

Yah Saturday is up to 2500 cals and I had to add in a extra potato and 2 cups of frozien yogurt with my 12 oz Sirloin just to make ends meet.... darn...:whiner:

Someone had to do it may as well have been you LOL.:)

Yeah it is pretty awesome! I am making some reall progress with this alternate day fasting this week. Things have cleaned up a lot and I am really stoked not too mention it hasn't been that hard. The last 2 hours of the fast get a little rough but honestly that is okay. That is okay tomorrow I begin a decent carb load, probably 400-500 grams. Will be awesome!!!!

I think i may go back to alternate day fasting for contest prep starting in june. It wasn't the most painful thing i've ever done and it does have good results.

Yeah it is pretty awesome! I am making some reall progress with this alternate day fasting this week. Things have cleaned up a lot and I am really stoked not too mention it hasn't been that hard. The last two hours will be more about the anticipation of getting to eat than any added hardship. I have done quite a few fasts for more spiritual reasons and never had a lot of difficulty....

Yes I am only doing this as a type of clean up now but we shall see if it is something I am interested in doing later on on a longer term just to see the effects. Resolve is actually using ADF for a Lean Bulk and gained 4 lbs while getting leaner. Pretty impressive.

Oh yeah, that is definitely the case. If I chose to right now I could keep on going all night and wouldn't have the oh crap hungry feeling at 6 or 7 but knowing I am going to be able to eat around then makes the feeding the focal point and that makes anticipation sore.

Yah that's how I plan to control myself during my holidays...

I had absolutely no problem holding out until I decided to eat but I just realized it was getting late about and ate 15 minutes ago. Was much easier than the first time.

That is a good way of putting it and that's about right on the money for the way I would describe that feeling before breaking the fast...

Good to know, I will work my plan out before I go on holidays..

Yah you usually have what your going to eat planned and it's usually something you will really enjoy. It might work better to eat something you don't enjoy as much to break the fast...

Ok I continue to be able to get leaner on Lean Gains so there is no doubt in my mind now that there is fat burning beyond the calorie count. What I mean is I am losing more using controlled fasting than I regularly would if I was eating throughout the day at the same calorie level.

Another thing I did is any extra cardio I do get's put in the bank and I can use those calories, I did an hour of cardio to get 2 cups of frozen yogurt yesterday. The calorie count was the same. I have time I may do the same today. Loving the freedom. They are going to change the date of my contest because they had to change the date of one out west to the weekend of my contest. I have to be all over that cuz I need to know for my prep.
