VolcomX311 + Needtobuildmuscle Contest Log. NeedToBuildMuscle & MrSupps

gives me heartburn on a empty. i try to take one dose with last meal and then a dose with my shake before bed. only time i do it differently is for sex-it dampens my libido.

it doesn't dampen my libido, though I've passed up coitus with the wifey on multiple occasions due to the benadryl kicking in.

Day 12; If ya didn't know, now ya know

Hammer High Rows; super-set Hammer Pull Downs

450lbs x 10 reps; 360lbs x 10 reps; 270lbs x 10 reps

This is the type of workout I'm accustomed to when I didn't expend half my energy on morning cardio. Weight is down and strength is up (on my BB rows), that's gotta be my favorite combination. Felt good, I'm not too fatigued right now and I was very thrilled about the intensity of today's workout.

Currently 214lbs

----------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife's a private school teacher and her school hosts an annual jog-a-thon to raise money. Tonight was her jog-a-thon dealy, so I took that opportunity to walk/run for some light cardio.

Right there would make me pass it up. 1 5-htp and 1 10mg melatonin and I am sawing logs in 15 minutes. If I want to get some "coitus" I can with no issue, then pass out right after :).

My computers been down for the last month,so I missed the contest, good luck bro. Log looks awesome so far.

Melatonin stops working for me after 2-3 days of consecutive use. I have to dose 12mg and above after the first night to get any kind of effect and Melatonin dosed that high usually ends up in a groggy arse wake up.

Thanks bro, and good to see you back on the boards. I hate computer issues.

You guys have a "Need2" for everything, don't you?

How about a libido enhancer? You can call it "Need2Screw" or something more vulgar.

Haha we already have something for libido/test booster it is called HCGenerate. But I honestly think it should be renamed "Need2DrownaChick" :op: :lmao:

I've recommended this very thing, but targeted at increasing womens libido. Put a fat burner label on it, and good to go! I would buy it by the case!

Yesterday was just a cardio day, but it was a pain trying to get it done. First I went to a nearby High School so I could do some cardio on their track and some league soccer game started setting up as I got there. Then I drove to the nearest college with a track and it was like Spring Orientation or something, so I ended up going to Garcia Trail, which is a fire rangers training trail. Its only about 2 miles long, but its steep as hell the whole time. 5 min into the walk and the calves are on fire and you're breathing hard. After that I just relaxed, no lifting or anything other strenuous physical activity. Diet is still going well. I should see another 1lb drop coming soon.

This would be Day 13. I'll weigh myself in a bit and see if I'm still 214.5 or not.

I'd rather run trails versus a school track anyway. We have some nice trails around here going through the woods. Lovely scenery while getting the cardio done.

Need2BustOne inspired by Peter North hahahahahaha

I wasn't running the trail. I was barely walking it. I had to stop a few times cause my calves were cramping up. That trail is like a non-stop squat + calf raise.

Great job so far man. You are killing it!

Thanks, I'm feeling a bit beat today. I've been trying to muster the energy to workout all day, but I just woke up from an unintended nap. I still might workout if I can work up to it. My bodies just exhausted.

damn, i have way too many days like that.:28:

I think I just have residual fatigue from yesterday's uber intensive drudge up Garcia Trail. It was a little over an hour going up and about 45min going down. There's no stopping point where you're not on a deep slant until you've hit the top, its just nasty.

got ya-that sounds like my weighted stairclimbing-21 floors up and down 5x-wearing 5lb ankle weights-killer workout. but i am used to now.:28:

Day 15 AM

AM Lift: Back Width Touch-Up

Behind The Neck Pull Ups - Wide Grip
BW x 10 reps
BW x 10 reps
BW x 8 reps
BW x 7 reps
BW x 6 reps
BW x 6 reps

Behind The Neck Hammer Pull Downs
180lbs x 10 reps
200lbs x 10 reps
220lbs x 10 reps
240lbs x 8 reps
260lbs x 6 reps
260lbs x 6 reps

Behind The Neck Machine Pull Downs - Wide Grip
190lbs x 10 reps
195lbs x 10 reps
200lbs x 8 reps
205lbs x 7 reps
210lbs x 6 reps

AM Cardio: Treadmill HIIT; 1min/1min walk/run for 20 min

I was never great at BW pull ups, as sad as it may seem, today's BW behind the neck pull ups was a good day. I normally don't feel this "light" per se on this exercise until I'm about 200lbs and under, so I was surprised I did "THIS" well at 214lbs. I was honestly looking to do sets of 5 reps all the way through, but to my surprise, I felt much lighter then expected, but I think that had more to do with my lats being stronger this time around, then two years ago on my last serious cut when I was hitting BW pull ups all the time. Eventually, probably sooner then later, I'll start adding weight to this exercise.

PM chest day with the fellas. I may go a bit lighter and higher reps then last week, because last weeks chest day felt like some serious CNS over-training and everything felt heavier then it should have, but we'll see. I have a hard time going less then 100% and all cylinders firing when I'm working out with my friends, so we'll see....

I love the creativity. Probably 5 years ago or so, I'm not sure how long, but it was my first cut log on AM back in 2005, I drudged Garcia Trail up and down twice, consecutively, in the peak of summer time, wearing a t-shirt, thermal, sweater and jacket, to maximize body heat for maximal calorie expenditure. I only did that once... and it'll probably be the last time. I walked like I was the tin man or a little kid being over-dressed in some cold mid-west state.

hell yeah-being strong in the gym is great, but it's nice to test strength and endurance with stuff like that.

Man I am completely jealous of this trail you speak of. One of my favorite things to do as a youngster was to go walk the steepest most ragged ways I could from the bottom of the valley to the top of the mountains on either side of me. I would be gone all day just out walking through the woods with a machete, a hunting knife and other stuff just incase I couldn't find my way back out. THat was soo much fun. I really really enjoy hiking although admittedly have not done much since moving to Texas. Just not as much fun terrain around where I live. Not gonna take a 3-4 hour drive to get somewhere with hills.

Great workouts man!

Damn, you were an adventurous one. I used to hike a lot back in the day, but in retrospect is wasn't so smart the way I did it. My friends and I, just about 2-3 of us would take midnight hikes down very thick, foresty brush, particularly, if not exclusively in areas with Mountain Lion warnings. That's how we got our thrills.

Day 15 PM

AM: Back & Cardio [previously logged]

PM: Chest

I said I was going to take it higher volume, lower intensity to give whatever neural issue I'm having with my chest strength some R&R. Although I did go higher volume, lower intensity, it was still a rough ass workout.

Bench Press
185lbs x 20 reps
205lbs x 20 reps
225lbs x 15 reps
245lbs x 12 reps
275lbs x 10 reps

Incline Press
185lbs x 15 reps
195lbs x 12 reps
205lbs x 10 reps
215lbs x 10 reps

Hammer Dips [facing away and bent over to emphasize the chest]
180lbs x 20 reps
180lbs x 20 reps
180lbs x 20 reps
180lbs x 20 reps [had to pause at 17 and hit 1 at a time with a rest until I reached 20]
180lbs x 20 reps [same thing here, but the wall came at 15, so 1 at a time until I got there]

Needless to say I felt like a lake buoy in the chest area. Looking at the sets & reps it doesn't look like I did that much, imo, but man was it fatiguing. I'm not accustomed to higher reps right now, so this whole workout was a continuous & residual burning in the chest.

I may stay high volume like this for my chest only for a good month, then switch back to higher intensity where I'm more at home.

They say we are always harder on ourselves, and you def fit that. That is still a dang good workout that most dream of doing. Glad to see your kicking it hard.

275*10 Beast mode brah..... I can only get it 5 times on a good day.

Day 16 AM

Morning HIIT 20 min. I took it up a notch on the treadmill and increased the speed on the running portion and it about killed me. I also wore a hoodie while I was doing it and I was sweating through the thick hoodie.

This mornings weight: 213lbs down from 220lbs.

My upper body is showing a little more contour from the weight loss; traps, delts and chest are coming out a little more, but the midsection has a long road ahead :28:

PM Lift: Olympic Lifts and Delts :usa2:

Awesome job man, that is all will power and determination. You are def an inspiration for me to push myself more.

Day 16 PM

I'm surprised I got through the workout. I felt like a zombie all day. I was lethargic and kind of cranky/deflated and generally fatigued. If I didn't have my workout partners today, it would have been a much, much rougher day, but it all worked out in the end.

O-Lifts and Delts Day

Hang Snatch; super-set to Power Upright Rows
95lbs x 5 reps/x 5 reps
115lbs x 5 reps/x 5 reps
135lbs x 4 reps/x 5 reps
155lbs x 2 reps/x 4 reps

Hang Clean and Jerk
95lbs x 5 reps/x 5 reps
135lbs x 5 reps/x 5 reps
155lbs x 5 reps/x 5 reps
175lbs x 3 reps/x 3 reps
195lbs x 2 reps/x 2 reps

Seated Db Shoulder Press; super-set to Hammer Shrugs
60lbs Db's x 10 reps/270lbs x 12 reps
70lbs Db's x 10 reps/360lbs x 10 reps
80lbs Db's x 7 reps/360lbs x 10 reps

Hammer Shoulder Press
190lbs x 10 reps
230lbs x 10 reps
270lbs x 8 reps

and that was a wrap. Unless you've done them, its hard to describe how exhausting O-lifts are and they're hard to get into when you don't feel amped about it because they're high velocity movements, there's not much of a catapillar warm up process like with regular strength movements. Anyway, I was drenched in sweat which is a good thing. Tomorrow is another day.

It's very impressive to see you still had some fuel in the tank to do delts justice after the O-lifts bro. I have played around with the O-lifts before and I know firsthand how much they take out of you.

I would have to separate my olympic lifting days from my bodybuilding days if I were doing them. Just so taxing on the body and especially the CNS.

I have to agree. Them Olympic lifts take a lot out of you..at least me anyways :)

Day 17AM

Last night's sleep was a bust. The wife has been sick as hell and it seemed to peak last night. She was coughing, sneezing, couldn't breathe from being stuffed up, so much so that at 3:30am I was on my way out the door to the 24hr WALMART for some nasal vasodilators so she could breathe, but at the last minute she found some Vicks in the bathroom somewhere. At this point I'm wide awake by 4:00 am, cause I'd gotten dressed to go out and what not. I think I fell back asleep around 4:40-4:50 am'ish and was up again by 6:45am.

All that being said, made my morning cardio a real bitch. Not only to perform, but to muster the energy to even go, on short and broken up sleep, but I went.

Treadmill 40 min; Incline 15 fast walk.

Guaranteed I'm going to have a major energy crash at some point today and my cortisol can't be in a good zone due to last nights circumstances. At best I'll do a second session of cardio after work if at all possible, but certainly no lifting today. My head feels real cloudy and I feel mentally slow right now. I took a stim (2 OEP's) this morning and it got me energized for about 15 min, then I just sat there and stared until I snapped out of it and went about my morning.

Oh yeah, and I'm sure my body has been trying to fight off whatever virus my wife has on top of everything. If my immune system was ever vulnerable it'd be right now, so the Vit C, Echinacea, Fish Oil and Vitamin D are being taken. If I do end up getting sick, I'll probably still cardio, I just won't lift... maybe....

I think ideally I would separate them and historically I have, but when I did combine them, it did wonders for my traps and you know how I love traps. Plus, my workout partners like the hybrid, some power mixed in with some hypertrophy, which I like too. You'd probably like it, too, considering how much you like to get creative with hybrid approaches to lifting.

I have to agree. Them Olympic lifts take a lot out of you..at least me anyways :)

You're definitely not alone on that one. O-lifts are on the same level of heavy deads to me, in terms of overall fatigue and residual pain. Of course, O-lifts technically are not supposed to be when lifting truly and primarily for power, which is basically a host of 1-3 reps, 3 being outrageous in volume and 1 rep being the norm, but I do them with greater volume for the bodybuilder in me; a little more hypertrophy of the traps & delts and calorie expenditure. It's great metabolic training when done in volume. This of course leads to a much, much slower progression in pure power gains, but that's not my main concern, so its all good. I'm big on hybrid lifting.

Don't forget to take Zinc, helps boost immune. Also whey helps too with the lactoglobulins and immunoglobulins.

Stay well, and push some weights, I like seeing the big numbers you put up!

Thanks Milas. I appreciate the suggestion. I don't have any zinc on hand, so I may need to stop by CVS, but I do take 3 scoops of whey nightly post workout.
