Oh **** son one of my favorite subjects has just cropped up
I love weed. I smoke almost everyday, very light these days though as I dont have the $$ to smoke a lot. Last year though, had a little grow operation going on, so i was a high-roller smoking fat everyday, often twice a day. Never saw any drawbacks.
Let's face it one of the hardest problems bodybuilders face is eating enough calories, when bulking i often have a difficult time getting them down... Weed changes that completely and turns my stomach into a bottomless pit. The only problem is having the willpower to eat the RIGHT food when you get the munchies. For me that's no problem... if you are serious enough to cycle you should have the willpower to handle that.
Usually I smoke before my last meal of the day, cottage cheese with 1 scoop protein powder and a handful of peanuts. That's my daily dessert, it tastes awesome normally and when i'm high it just tastes like heaven. Then I do my high, late night posting and get to sleep... I never have problems sleeping but for anyone who does, weed helps you fall asleep too.
damage to lungs: negligible... use a bong or a vape if concerned
increased estrogen/ lower testosterone: haven't noticed this, my training has never seemed to take a hit (lol) from my use
any other drawbacks --- nope.
Let's recap, as a bodybuilder you need a lot of calories and sleep and weed helps with both those things. It also helps you relax, gets rid of stress, completely takes the edge off. Unless you're a n00b and you get high in an uncomfortable spot and get paranoid... don't be a n00b.
Realistically the only downside is controlling your munchies, it's a powerful tool so you have to wield it properly. That and the fact that it isn't really compatible with some things like going to WORK.
Anyway, I love weed. Bulking supplement of the year. Smoke up life is short.
