You can do it bro! I quit this last Christmas after 11 years of half a pack a day and have never looked back. Just fill up your time with something engaging. And man you'll save a lot of money. I sure have. :D

i never figured a smart guy like you to be a smoker-glad to hear you are giving up that dumb habit. i quit drinking 13 years ago, so i know addictions can be tough-you just have to be tougher!!!

Thanks guys, I will be giving it a go. Look forward to putting it as a thing of the past.
 
I know a lot of guys who are pretty serious dudes that like to have the occasional smoke to unwind, my wife is a one a day gal too, i hate it but im not a hypocrite, so i just suck it up and say nothing, dont get it personally.

Besides,

I used to smoke like a trooper tho when i was drinking and on the rec drugs

Now i just abuse my body in other ways :)
 
Cold turkey, speaking of which, I am pretty hungry.... :lol:

Good luck :) I find people who hit the gym hard have quit a bit more willpower for cold turkey :D

Well since many seem interested in the smoking quit: Day one, completed. Bring it! I seriously already felt slightly better in the gym, which might be placebo, but I did save my lungs from 3/4 pack of cigarettes.

Well, maybe I will let my lifts speak for me.

Squats: +10, I think the bit of rest really helped me here. Every time I get an extended rest period, my squat strength goes up. I actually wanted to go +15 on my last set, but a guy was waiting behind me for the power rack, and I hate when someone stares at me lifting. GRRR.... oh well, I will do that +5 tomorrow.

Bench: I went +5 on my last set, but only got 4.5 reps out of the attempted 5. (The half rep comes from me knowing not to go all the way down on my last rep.)

Deadlifts: +10, again I have to say that my rest period (especially with the help of HGHpro), contributed to this. I really need to get those things that train your grip when I get some extra cash (if you know what I am talking about, please link me), I feel it is the one thing that really hinders my advancement. (I am a no glove/no strap lifter, but unfortunately my gym doesnt allow chalk, so I might try the liquid stuff).

I also did chest press machine, dumbell curls (+5), Dips, and some Burpees, followed by a cool down jog.

The HGHpro has been good. My rest last night was great, especially because it might have been my fullest nights sleep since the start of this move (Minus waking up a few times due to a heavy thunderstorm outside). I cant believe how much it has helped me in a time of limited sleep and increased stress. Good stuff.

As for other sups, I am still taking Oximega Greens (loving them), Oximega Fishoil (just finished today -- ordered 3 more bottles from recent nutrasale), Orange Triad, White Flood (Man does this stuff bring intensity to the gym), Creapure (tried and true Mono), and of course the purple pills (HGHpro).

Oh, and I ran out of protein (was using ON Gold Standard that I had picked up at quite a steal), but I ordered 5lb tub of NutraPro Chocolate Graham Cracker! Cant wait!

Still goin strong.

My dad does alot of business in Mexico, and his business contacts down there always supply him with a box of cuban pleasure, this along with the fact that he goes to all the hawks playoff/stanley cup games because he is a season ticket holder, and I am one very jealous son.
 
Chantix helped me quit the habit. I have tried patches and all that, and chantix did the trick.

I actually had a friend that made a mention of this. Prescription for quitting has me interested, if the cold turkey fails, I will consider that option, but for now I am hoping to save money and go the will power route.

Glad to know your nicotine free though, hearing of people quitting keeps me going.

Got my Deadlift up from 325 - 525 in a year, clearly I had a boatload of AAS but I truly attribute big back grips to grip strenght which was one of my weakest ponts

I still have to strap up for 500 +

There a staple at Golds Gym, they must get em in bulk as they only charge $3 :)
 
I've been using FatGripz and my grip strength has gone up tremendously since I started using them in March... I used to strap for 315+, now I don't have to touch straps until I'm over 405... (Unless my calluses are ripping off my hands, then I'll throw on the VersaGrips)
 
You use the versa pro grips?

Like to try em but store near me that has em said I couldn't return if I don't like :( I've heard so many mixed opinions, seems to be a love hate relationship, prob something to do with the price

Yea I know about Fat Gripz, I was thinking about the things you squeeze that have a resistance to them, there is a brand that is pretty popular I can't think of them, but I do want to get some Fat Gripz as well.

As for the Chantix, I am getting crazy dreams just with the HGHpro, couldn't imagine what a prescription strength pill could do, lol. Alternate Reality.

BTW: Officially over 48 hours. I was pretty bad during the day yesterday (literally felt like my skin was crawling off), last night I was at a bar for the game, and even a couple of beers didnt convince me to break it. So still going strong.

I find myself using the gripz for things like reverse bb curls, farmers walks, tricep pulldowns, hammer curls, etc... I also tend to use them on any kind of dropset I'll do; bench, deadlifts, powercleans...

They're interesting to use on anything for sure, and you have to drop the weight considerably due to the lack of "grip" you get from them...

I've been using them a lot for benchpress lately also, holding on to them seems to put less stress on my shoulders which is great!

I'm a big fan of them though, my grip strength has gone up considerably in the past few months, and I haven't done anything different really other than incorporating them into my routines.


As for the versa grips, I have the Pro edition and I absolutely love them! I can't go back to regular straps now that i've been using these things... They make pulling heavy weight a joke!

God damnit, I had typed out a really long update and for whatever reason my browser closed on me. Oh well....

Ok so my last workout was the last of my White Flood Furious Fruit Punch. I very much enjoyed using it and it should be come a staple in my cabinet. The flavor was quite good, but it really shined in the level of energy it provides. This stuff could quite literally wake up a dead horse. Big on the stims, which was crucial for hitting some PRs during its runs.

What now? Well to my amazement, my AGST from LG showed up the day I needed it. I am really excited about the AGST as it is very non traditional as far as pre workouts go. I will dose one scoop every day, unless I am feeling lethargic, then I willl double it. From initial impresion the flavor is good stuff and the energy just right. Not as stim-heavy, but still good to get me through a workout. It is nice for workouts like last night as it doesnt over do it, but for days when I will need huge boost it will probably require two scoops (still in recommend dosage range). I am interested in how some of the non traditional ingredients (pre workout wise) will help my progress.

Last Nights Workout:

Squats: I did the +5!!!!!! Wait I did +5 this week and I am excited when last week I did +10? WTF? Well The +5 that I wanted to add last week actually brings me to my semi-short term goal I had set for myself, and about a week and a half earlier then planned to boot, so I am quite excited.

Power Clean: ....Ugh....I have fully decided these will be out my routine for now, I just dont look forward to them nearly as much any more and it has lead to a lack of progression. So to compensate I am transitioning this into my preferred Clean, the clean and press. I still did 2 sets of Powers, but then....

Clean and Press: Lowered the weight from my power clean so I could press it, similar to the last attempt at them. This time was able to add +10 from my previous clean and press and am rather happy. They just feel better, and by that I feel like I was beat to **** in the upper body becuase I am sore all over after they are done, good stuff...

Also did some T-bars, some more dips, decent amount of jogging and some shoulder machine press. Good day.

Today is game 4, can't wait to see some one beat the **** out of Carcillo (this guy just deserves it) and Pronger (******* took the game puck from game two - poor sportsmanship).

i had a guy once tell me that his quitting smoking was harder than my quitting drinking because i only drank a few hours every day, and he smoked all day long. i told him, you never drank with me did you, lol. :sgrin:

i guess the point is that quitting any addiction aint fun. but i look on my quitting drinking as the best thing i have ever done-it wasn't easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is.

good luck-you just have to stick it out.
 
you can do it man smoking is a demon many try to conquer but never do. I'm smoke free since November of 09' and it is a great feeling brother. And remember you will gain better without smoking.

Congrats. I feel like I actually dont have a choice but to quit. At this point, I looked it up there is literally no nicotine left in my system. After this log starts Clenbuterol mini cut, then a SD cycle, so I can't smoke during either one anyway. As of today I am significantly less pressured to smoke. Cravings are dwindling, and when they hit I chew gum. It is amazing how much healthier you feel after just a few days.

Yea I am quite positive, I actually have been sitting on the bottle for a couple months, but it is still about 3 months out for me, and even that will be dependent on how ready I feel at the time.

It will be run with cycle assist/liverjuice. SERM will be Clomid. Dosage will be around 10/10/20/20, with fourth week being dependent on sides (i.e. If I feel that my sides are getting heavy at the end of week 3, I will just go into PCT after week 3.

I am playing with the idea of using Turinabol (hdrol) first, as is suggested often around here, but for now it will be SD.

Yea which is why people have suggested I go the hdrol route first, which in reality will probably be what I do. I am actually a lot more cautious in the real world then I come off on boards lol.

me and celc5 started on these boards at around the same time, we have both done a ton of supps including many ph cycles. i have never done a sd cycle-but celc did. from what he told me i am very glad i never gave in to the temptation of big gains at the cost of feeling like crap. i don't want to speak for celc, but before you run sd i would shoot him a pm.


tommahawk got some great gains from pp's turin, much better option imho.
