i have all the beatles albums in very good shape along with bob dylan, elvis, led zepplin, rolling stones, bruce springstein, all those guys....the white album is the one that is cherished most but my favorites are the steppin wolf and cream albums...also have a turn table i guess u'd call it to still play them all on

Not gone just hibernated long enough for the economy to crash, and them to run out of money and get back in the studio. If only that would happen we could get new STP music. Oh wait IT DID!!! They played the new song from them on the Buzz here in Houston last week. The album is not done yet but the first completed song is. If they can just keep ol crazy boy from melting down.
Here is the new STP song if you wanna listen.

man, put that turntable away-those albums are way to valuable. i never play my originals anymore. btw my 70's stereo system was garrard turntable/pioneer amp and tuner w/bose 901 speakers added after i went to italy in the navy. that gear f'ing rocked. i still have the 901 speakers-best investment i ever made.

Perhaps no other artists in recent times has been able to shock the world of hip hop and rap in a way that a young man from Detroit has, Marshall Mathers. Growing up in the slums of detroit, it took persistence for a poor dishwasher with a dream, overcoming the odds of gaining respect in a culture very much defined by color, to grow to a household name in the world of hip hop.

In what could very well be documented as the mind of the criminally insane, Eminem has varied in the subject of his music from his desire to kill his wife, to his deep love for his daughter, from his regretable past to his fight with parental groups who fight him for his offensive lyrics.

Recalling his earliest work, Infinite, which was released on an independent label, Eminem recalled, "Obviously, I was young and influenced by other artists, and I got a lot of feedback saying that I sounded like Nas and AZ. 'Infinite' was me trying to figure out how I wanted my rap style to be, how I wanted to sound on the mic and present myself. It was a growing stage. I felt like 'Infinite' was like a demo that just got pressed up."

His rise to fame skyrocketed after the highly controversial release of the Slim Shady LP, to many fans arguably his biggest reflection of his true style. The album was, according to Billboard, "light years ahead of the material he had been writing beforehand".
Beyond that point, Eminem has been the subject of numerous discussions, concerning being homophobic, beef with Insane Clown Posse, Mariah Carey, George Bush, and others. His albums have continually been chart toppers.

Now that is paying homeage right there. I don't care if you like rap or not, the presentation, wording and thought that went into that post was impressive. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
i don't touch the turn table..or the records...my father will play them however...he doesn't care to much about the "value" of things...thats the music he loves so he'll listen to the stuff no matter what...can't really stop him and if i tell him they r worth something, he says what value is something just sitting on a shelf...might as well take the music coming from the speakers as the value
I had to go back and listen again I couldn't remeber too much of it. Sounds very Tom Petty in some areas. I hope the do have harder driving power chords and what not on the cd too though. You know what got STP big in the first place.
you tell your dad a big f'ing A from me. i respect that very much-those are the values we had as youth in my generation-before we grew old and sold out to the dollar.

I only work to make money to pay bills and live. I don't strive to or search for ways to work more to chase the dollar. I have never gotten my first kiss from a dollar and my knees go weak. I have never made love to a dollar, nor have I asked one for advice.
Due to these things I can actually say I love my life.
sorry, i was generalizing.
btw-wasn't your generation the 80's-rip the disco age, lol.
You nailed it with the Tom Petty similarity. Weiland had a nice fling with Velvet Revolver but I miss the hard riffs of STP.
Well in May we will see if thye have any of the older style on there. CREED's new music is awesome they went right back to the formula that made them rock and I love it. They so fugging kicked ass in concert this summer too!

honorable mention goes to ronnie spector, natalie merchant, stevie nicks and my favorite miss chaka khan. man chaka was soo hot back in the day-my johnson still goes on full alert when i hear 'tell me something good' or 'i feel for you'. if she had better material i think chaka would have been a mega star.
