AI's HGH Pro Purple People Eaters Promo

I'm going to get flamed I'm sure but I never heard of john lennon haha. I'll google and dl some stuff tonight and post back later.

My vote is for Police, sorry I cant post a picture I'm at work :P
Would recent bands like Otep or hate breed count? I'm young :P

that's cool-i had never heard of tupac until today! and i wish i never would have now-if the comparison to lennon would have been jimi hendriks or marvin gaye i could have lived with that- marvin knew 'what's goin on'. even george benson-who knew how to play that there guitar. or even parliament who could bring the funk. rufus-with that fine babe chaka khan telling me she thinks she loves me. or even big barry white, or the temptations! lou rawls or al green or even luther ingram-don't forget billy paul and mrs jones.

by the way- mrkleen-i bet the chances of a 20 year old kid pulling up beside me listening to led zeppelin are a lot better than a guy my age pulling up listening to tupac-even the kids know which is best, at least most of them do, lol.:beerchug:

Ok, fellas. Enough of the banter about Tupac and rap in general. Let's stay focused and keep this to just rock groups.

only rock groups in that case i would say red hot chili peppers.

I listen to metal (mostly power metal, some thrash metal, maybe some hard rock like GnR)while training. Iron Maiden is one of my top favorites.

To you metal fans many people do not know about Helloween a german band that sings American lyrics check them out.

"Dogs of War"

Sun is set, darkness falls (See)
Now comes the enemy (Beware)
Draw sword and shield defy (Hai)
All their wives must scream and cry (Stand fast)
We are the last hope now (Last)
Of all our people fair, so will you die with me (We do)
Will you now do your share (Hai)

The tales they tell, of what we do this day
We that guard the door
WIll last a thousand years
Let go the dogs of war

i have an idea, i grew up listening to my dad tell me stories and playing john lennon and beatles and all that kind of stuff, i still hear the stories today even if i've heard them a million times, i was taught the guitar as a child, not a fan of musical instruments though

but growing up in the 90's tupac did the same thing to a whole generation of kids and actually has a bigger audience (bigger population/more ppl buying and listening to music)...imo tupac is the greater influence/song writer but john lennon had a similar influence and style

i knew i was going to get flamed but ppl don't give great rappers credit like tupac and nas the same way they do john lennon or some other musicians from back in the day

yah you don't understand the depth of the influence John had on society as a whole. It goes way beyond music and way deeper than that as well. You see when we were young we really thought we could change things and we really did try. You don't know how oppressed society was and what we had to live with that our parents were so removed from what we were, man my son and I are so much closer. We think alike share a lot of the same ideas about life. My dad and I were like from another planet. It was like that everywhere. Our parents ate the bull**** that was fed them and we knew it was wrong. It was John Lennon that spearheaded the awakening of society that changed the world. He wasn't the only one but I feel the main one with the purest ideas. A lot of the freedom you know today is a result of this major change is society. We didn't have the kind of freedom you have as young people, were not free to express our ideas. It's so hard to explain, John is like a diety to us and we love what he did for us. Reminds me of a time when we had hope. Leaders like that gave us that. There have not been such leaders since.

I saw Helloween in high school....Rush is also my all time favorite band too.

Another favorite:

Holy Diver
You've been down too long in the midnight sea
Oh what's becoming of me
Ride the tiger
You can see his stripes but you know he's clean
Oh don't you see what I mean
Gotta get away
Holy Diver
Shiny diamonds
Like the eyes of a cat in the black and blue
Something is coming for you
Race for the morning
You can hide in the sun 'till you see the light
Oh we will pray it's all right
Gotta get away-get away

Ronnie James really rocks!!!!!!!!!!!

Never was a Dio fan....Lovin the Heart, RATM, and Aerosmith though!

a little props to kiss-before kiss most light shows and special effects were...wait a minute-before kiss there wasn't light shows and special effects to speak of. the original genesis with peter gabriel were pioneers in special effects also, but nothing compared to the the show kiss put on-kiss were truly pioneers in big show theatrics. i had never seen anything like it before-i was truly awed!

GOJIRA

catch the video of gojira playing rememberence and space time live on youtube- sick!

Actually Todd Rundgren had some good shows in the early seventies. I am a big fan of older Genesis with Gabriel till Collins ruined them. Never liked Kiss much, they were mostly what the younger kids listened to when I was growing up. Alice Cooper had sort of already done the shock thing. Never got why Kiss was popular.

no man-i am talking when kiss 1st started touring-how old where you in 75, lol. todd rundgren is a talented musician, but except for 'hello it's me' he didn't get much play.

i agree about gabriel and genesis-the concert i saw was a sign of things to come-the video sledgehammer.

put on school's out and it was only women bleed and billion dollar baby's-

THE EAGLES- while i mostly like harder rock, i have to give the eagles some recognition-probably the finest group of musicians ever formed into one band-and to their credit although they did solo albums have still remained a band.

THE EAGLES are one of those bands where almost everyone likes at least some of their stuff.

That was the only Rundgren song I didn't like. lol Did not represent him at all, Todd's following was more cult. I guess I was 17 in 75 but we didn't listen to Kiss. There were so many good bands in the mid 70's. I was a big Heap fan as well at that time. Jethro Tull was another band I really loved. That was the only time in history when musicians could actually to the music they wanted to do and still make money doing it. Oh and King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer... yah I was a drug user...

Eagles were the real deal, good song writing excellent lyrics their own sound...
