I was on my way to a funeral that morning and I had a eulogy prepared in the event that there was an “open mike.” Perhaps you’ve heard that old expression about public speaking phobias: “most people would rather be the guy in the casket than the one delivering the eulogy.” For public speaking, I generally use half a milligram of Xanax and a small dose of either propranolol or atenolol, and this invariably shuts off the fear response and allows a polished presentation. However, I was out of Xanax and didn’t want to pay my doctor for an office visit just to obtain one dose, so I decided that if the phenibut arrived on time I would just substitute that for the Xanax and hope for the best. The dosage I took was 100 milligrams of atenolol, which might have contributed to the “drunk” effect—I’m not sure. I’m actually glad now that I didn’t give the eulogy, since the phenibut hit me so hard that I was actually having trouble talking. It’s pretty strong stuff.
