That's good news about the decrease in swelling and pain. I don't think that's ever a bad sign! Let us know when you hear from the doc.

So the doc called in...first off I will not be seeing this doctor any longer. This is a doc at a walk in clinic and I am switching to my dads "real doctor". The walk in doc seems like she doesnt know her ass from her elbow. Basically what happened is they called me and said you have swollen lymph nodes and you need a cat scan. I thought this was ridiculous right away. Ultra sounds are supposed to be superior to CTs when it comes to these sort of things. So when they tell me I have swollen lymphs, I asked "what about the other bump on my jaw?" she says, "you have another bump in your jaw?" this immediately starts making me boil. I say, "yes, its in the US photos." She leans over to another doctor and goes "what about the lump on his jaw?" She replies back to me "I don't know but make a follow up and we can make you an appointment for a CT."

I politely tell her I will not be returning other than to pick up my US photos and will be seeing a real doctor. I am tired of the games this clinic has been playing with me. I called at least 5x today asking if they got my photos in yet and they said no. I called the Ultra sound place and they tell me they sent it over the weekend. And when I call the walk in clinic back to tell them this...guess what? "ohhh heres your photos! They just arrived!"

Man that sucks!! Hope you keep getting better boss. Reminds me of the time I had to go to the ER for my asthma since it was after my doc's hours. The doc on duty, she asked me "When did you catch asthma?" I knew I was in trouble then. I was tempted to tell her the same time I suffered from catching fat from the "Fat Epidemic". She went on to tell me it was "Anxiety", not asthma. Sorry for the rant, just fired me up a bit. Almost forgot, that thing about not knowing her ass from her elbow reminded me of this part from Kill Bill 2.Invalid Link Removed
 
hahaha you guys are killn me...thanks for the pick me ups bros. Im feeling great today. I dont think my "flu" or whatever it is is completely gone but I dont feel sick, I'm just getting chills every 10 or so hours after my last dose of Motrin. I made an app with my dad's doc. He obviously is really good because the earliest time I could get was next Tuesday :dunno:. Oh well. I feel better knowing Im seeing someone smart and also the cheek mass is getting smaller and softer. It was hard as rock the other day. Just trying to stay positive.


I wanna workout!!!!! :aargh4:

Sounds like your on the right path. It's a very good sign that it is getting better w/ the antibiotics.

I'm no doc, but it's possible that you had some type of virus or infection and the lymph nodes were swelling as a result. They swell to fight/contain infections.

I rememember one time I had some swollen lymph nodes near my groin and I had a huge gash on my knee. Went to the doc and he pointed at my knee and said "there's your reason right there."

Well I am no longer on anti biotics. I was only given a weeks worth which ended on Sunday. Hopefully I dont need to get back on and the weeks worth took care of business. I've considered I may have/had a blockage issue. Will have to wait and see

So I decided that I wanted to workout today and I was ready. First off, the lymph is going down more :18:. It's putting me on cloud 9. Anyway, I took 2 prime 30 mins before a protein shake last night. This morning I took 3 prime, 200mg caffeine, 1.5 scoops slingshot, and 2g BA. My stomach had forgotten what it was like to take this elixir in lol. I waited 30 mins and my stomach settled and I was PRIMEd. Didn't do my usual stretching and scap work because I forgot. I went in with the expectations of lost strength. So I was so disappointed when I saw it. I did loose some size on this week off due to having the flu, one, and two, having a very swollen lymph disabling me from opening my mouth all the way or chewing pain free. Now that the pain is gone I will be downing food the way I was before. The upside is my gf says Im looking "damn good" as she put it this morning. :D

Since this is a new phase I started. There are some new exercises that have been put in/switched.

The w/o:
1. Incline smith press - did 160 last time on incline bb bench. So I dropped down 5lbs here to assess strength. working: 155x5-2-2=9..will most def be moving bigger weights once Prime really kicks in.
2. stretch w/ 45's for 90 seconds...missed the burn!
3. Highest incline db press for shoulders - last time I did seated db press w/ 50's for 7-4-3 (rp). On this one I did 50's for 16-5-3 :D...will move up to 55's next time.
4. stretch for 45 secs
5. EZ bar skullz - I hate this exercise with a passion. I suck hardcore on this but rock out on db skullz. I got 65 for 5 reps and then fail :frustrate. Im switching back over to db skullz. I was doing 45's for high reps. Gotta do what I know works.
6. stretch w/ a 40 for 60 secs
7. Rack chins - shined here today. I actually gained strength! working: 45x9-4-3=16; up 3 reps from last time. Will be moving up to 50 next time.
8. Deadlifts - I have not done these in years. I am more a fan over SLDLs. Yes I know they work different muscles. I just never could quite click with this one. I failed at 275. Weak. I'll stick with it tho.
9. Lat hang with a 75 :head: for 45 secs.

sweet workout. Shoulders looking super inflated. Chest too.
 
I had one stick a q-tip down my guy one time. so it wasn't the best way to meet someone and if I had gotten some wood I would have been in real trouble:paranoid:

If I had to get a Q-tip stuck down my pee-hole the last thing I'd be concentrating on would be the hot doctor. That sounds freaking painful.

I disagree. If you are having trouble with an exercise (unless it physically is painful... like your wrist pops or something) I say hit that exercise up with a vengeance. WORK ON YOUR WEAK SPOTS!!! Not just your strong ones!

I agree to an extent, but trading one triceps exercise for another has a negligible variance in muscle excitation. Hating a whole muscle group is one thing, like training legs, but hating a particular exercise and opting for another similar exercise that stimulates the same muscle isn't that bad. Especially with a small muscle group.

Hating a particular exercise can effect motivation, and a triceps extension is a triceps extension. The smaller the muscle, the less effect a particular angle of stimulation changes anything.

If he'd said, I hate working tri's and replaced it with a biceps curl, then I'd ready the baby powder.

Laying EZ Bar Skull Crushers gives me shooting pains in my elbows, but doing a laying Double Db extension with my palms in neutral rather then pronated works out alright for me.
 
Matter of fact, pressure that hurts the wrists in pronation or supination can sometimes be overcome by a neutral grip. When I had tendonitis in my wrists and couldn't even hold anything in supination, I was still able to do hammer curls.

Try them on the incline bench with the EZ bar. It feels WAY better on my shoudlers and elbows. It might help your wrist out, or you might just want to wrap those wrists up.

I just say that because I know I can load up WAY more weight on a barbell than with dumbells... it just seems to be the mantra of DC to use the Barbell when possible because of the ability to frankly move more weight. Maybe I am wrong... but they are just thoughts.

Met, I attach a rope tricep unit to a low cable and sit in an incline bench. The wrists are neutral and the stretch is great.
 
Good suggestions in here. I have some thinking to do.
 
Just thought I'd stop in, figure you might appreciate my input.

haha yeah I'm here. I wont be able to do a doc visit until school starts. My stupid insurance doesnt cover the summer if Im not enrolled. Im still training. I did loose some weight and strength when I caught the flu. So Im playing catch up now. Im also in the beginning stages of my next DC phase. So I am still figuring things out.

Thanks man. My mom works with this chick who said she had the same thing. A swollen lymph and a lump on her jaw. Turns out she had a clogged lymph. So Im hoping thats what I have. Guess Ill be find out soon :dunno:
