The BPS Rep
Yah can imagine, would have to be a bit conservative with the weight at first.
I did this heavy leg press dead combo a while back and the plan was 7 sets of 7 supersetted. I used about the normal weight I would have for 7 reps on leg press maybe a little more conservative on the deads... well that was a fuggin mistake. I was on the mat after each set gasping and only made 5 sets. I made the adjustment the next week and was able to eventually supercede my original numbers. You just can't go full capacity on both lifts when your supersetting heavier lifts.
Well, it depends on the superset. In the case of LP/DL, because both lifts incorporate so much leg activation, one at least is going to have to be at a reduced intensity. But I find if I use a lower body pull like a dl with an upper body push like a push press, there is less overlap (though there is still some) and I can handle more weight.
However, as you say, rep range is also a huge factor.
