The Asteroid Product X Files ... I want to believe

:lmao:
haha..nice work DW, you paint a good picture of how that workout should be! ;)

I would have preffered to go in strong and kicked ass... maybe next week. I am coming from a week off and straight into this nightmare of a routine, so I am not going to have a great first week. It was pretty good in places though. Next week will be much better.

Lived to grow another day! Nice job DW...

This is kind of freaky ... either that Advil took 6 hours to kick in or I am actually experiencing some recovery... can't be that already...

Wait DW you forgot you added PRIME back in your stack a week or so ago. You should be ready for wind sprints by bed time!

Looking at your, Boro's, and Snag's logs are making me ill!!!!:684: Just wanted you to know that. I am jealous like a highschool girl with all of the intensity going on in your workouts, and here I am nursing injuries. AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Sounds like an awesome workout. I really want to hit that Freak Workout, and some tire throws too!!!! I will probably hit the Freak workout after my next show when all of my injuries should be under control. Looks a little intense for me right now.:worried:

Month 2 was not too bad but it had an accumulated effect, and it got a little rough on the joints. Month 3 is much higher volume and tough... probably not going to be too hard on the joints though. I am going to do a chest blaster after this ... maintenance on other body parts .... then I will do the freak top to bottom 12 weeks straight but don't know if I can keep up with the frequency for that long.

I am jealous too, I want that product X !!!! Invalid Link Removed

Great workout DW, I feel you on the heat, my gym doesn't have good airconditioning system and I live in tropical Australia. Every workout is a battle with heat more than it is with weights :frustrate:

Yes it sucks the life out of you. I take an electrolyte drink before the gym, I guess I will have to take some with me as well. Another thing is the Cap in eviscerate starts to heat up pretty good and I am also taking recreate so there is a valid explanation why I heat up.

Day 6

Seeing some nice recomp changes. I appear to be developing a chest!! With the shoulder injury this has been difficult and my chest has always been stubborn. Seems I am responding to the higher reps and drop sets. Another factor is I have been using Eviscerate on it ... dare to dream ? Who knows there have been some who reported site enhancement.

Arms look bigger, did a measurement and they were 18 1/8 cold, I thought they'd be bigger but considering I am pretty lean now and carrying almost no fat on my arms that's pretty good. My triceps are very sore but that doesn't bother me like not being able to walk. Legs are quite a bit better incidently so I am noticing some better recovery.

I have just a cardio session today. Due to the increased activity I am cutting my cardio back to 3 hours a week. This should be more than enough. I also do a lot more walkng in the summer so this should factor in as well.

I gained a noticeable bit of vascularity in my arms from E, didn't notice anything beyond normal progress on my chest. Are you applying it pre-workout?

Yes, I have fat on my chest I need to lose and if it causes some grrowth in that region so much the better.

Day 7

HITT cardio AM with AP ... I had a good session, there was some doubt about whether this was going to be HITT.

Extra sleep... I napped about 3 hours off and on early Saturday afternoon, still went to bed fairly early and slept 7 hours. I mean I must really be trashed if I am sleeping this much.

Day 8

Back at it!!

Bench 3 X 10, 3 X 8-6-4 up 10 lbs accross the board. Considering this is the first excercise of a morning session I am satisfied. I did lose a couple reps at the end but I had gained a few in the earlier sets so I finished + 1 rep overall. Endurance is pretty good, this is a brutal routine for those who haven't done it. Torturous and fun...

BB curls same rep scheme up 10 lbs again. No reps missed. 10 lbs is a significant increase on this exercise. I could really feel my biceps getting hammerd, and I was looking huge.

Lateral raise 2 X 6-12-25 I have yet to get the 25 reps on one of these sets on this particular exercise.

Took a short break did some heavy AB work. Came home had my Pslin super shake, then died on the couch ... only nodded off for about an hour this time. Went for a short walk around the neighbourhood, lots going on as I have mentioned I live in the Old Port area Montreal.

Well it's obvious I am very taxed as my body is demanding more sleep. I feel really trashed and sore again today, but my legs are ready for tonight. 4 X 10 on squats is not too bad, last week I was coming off a rest week so the first week always kills me. Hoping for better recovery as Wednesday is "D" day. I don't ever remember starting an exercise routine off with deadlifts, it's usually my last exercise. Then I think about doing the standing military 3X10, 3X8-6-4 and then doing deads... well that doesn't sound that good either!!

I am right on the edge all the time, I am summoning just enough strength to make it through the next routine, set, rep...I am hoping my body will be able to adjust and reach a whole other level of fitness. We will see.. one way or another!!

DW, Snag said he had some lethargy while using "X". Do you think this could be affecting you as well?

I am not experiencing lethargy, I'm just being hammered by a really tough routine. The frequency is much higher than I am used to and it's kickin the crap out of me... so far...I don't feel lethargic at all... just sore. Oh and definite increase in agresion. Have to watch myself. Prime agression is easy to control. This agression caught me off guard, the wife has mentioned it a couple times.

Gotcha DW. Aggression is great as long as it is focused towards the weights.

That seems to be the challange with Product X, seems to be harder to focus it as it gets me off guard. I just have to catch myself and then try and save it for the gym.

On that note feeling very aggressive today... something's gonna get tore up!!

My money is on the weights giving in DW!!

A 20lb wager sounds like a good bet bubba! You got it covered big man!!

Day 9

Well I added 20 lbs to my front squats as planned and did the first 2 sets, I didn't like my form on the first but was hoping the second would be better. The second was better but not good enough. I took 10 lbs off and did the 3rd with much better form. I got really pissed doing the 4th and crushed it. I finished with a large primal aggressive roar and I guess I was pretty loud as a lot of people were staring at me when I finished. What can I say I was feeling the rage.

I carried that attitude into the rest of the workout and crushed everything, making good progress on weight increase. The exercises were not overly difficult ones, leg press calves up 40 lbs, the reps were very clean and held my contaction very well. Then it was 2X6-12-25 on the pec deck, this is suprisingly intense, unbelievable pump I was up 20 lbs on the 6 and 12. The same rep scheme on hammer curls I was up 5 lbs on this exercise for the 6 and 12 and 2.5 up on the 25.

I have already noticed some leaning and some size increase so I was expecting to be up a pound or 2 as I look pretty huge. I was very surprised though when I was up 3 lbs!!

Ok I ate less last week if anything, my activity was through the roof, I appear to be leaner. It just goes to show when your efficiancy for absorbing nutrients increases there is no need to increase caloric intkake to attain more mass. Not for me anyway. It all adds up, by becoming more anabolic I was able to make better use of the food I was eating. This is one of the reasons I will never bother with bulking again. If I am hungry I eat, but I eat good food.

Now the reasons for this much gain I attribute to the fact that I was working extremely hard and my supplementation is very synergistic. I have to assume Product X added a boost. I am taking fat burners and on a lower calorie macro cycle where I am averaging around 2800 calories a day. Anyhow I'm no expert, I am merely speculating, lets see how things go over the next couple weeks. I am now sitting at about 243.

Indeed it is :D

DW, would it be worth dosing X down to see if that gets rid of the unwanted aspect of aggression ?

Interesting concept. Tho, I just like to EAT ! :o

Aggession is not a bad thing as long as things don't get out of hand. I have kept it mostly under control. Knowing and being aware of it does help. When there is a small flair up you can nip it in the bud. Important note on that... never take yourself too seriously learn to laugh it off.

Eating is great! Extra eating is fine when your hungry, just eat right. I know this will happen from time to time so I keep around lots of healthy snacks, and or foods that I can satiate myself with, without getting too many bad calories in. Funny thing is ... last week I did none of this kind of eating... diet was very tight.

Most people are too close to what they're doing that they can't see themselves anymore, but I always step back and laugh at myself because it is all funny, being the best built man in the world ! Very funny

AMEN! Snapping here and there is going to happen but we are responsible to keep it in check. You can't pump yourself up into an animal then let yourself out of the cage unchecked. We can't expect others to have to modify thier behavior in order not to trigger a snap. We must have the heightened awareness to go with the heightened intensity and aggression that spills over into normal life. The key to making the "Alpha" feeling a positive outside of the gym is to act appropriately and attempt to lead by setting good examples. People just take notice of anyone in the "Alpha-zone" it command attention all on it's own so our behavior is noticed by more people automatically.

Now it is my turn for a quote.
"With Great Power comes Great Responsibility!"

I found it amazingly easier to eat clean during my competition prep on the stack. I also wonder if any of the new irritability is stemming from low caloric intake with that new muscle 3 lbs:party:. The diet alone can cause some irritability, and if you ate a lot cleaner last week than usual.... just a thought. of course you know your body and reactions. However it also sounds like the PX is kicking in with your weights.

Snags, did you notice uncontrollable or impulsive snaps pop up on you with yours that were different the the previous Asteroid stack without the PX?

I don't think diet was that key but may be indirectly involved, as you know this routine has caused a lot of pain and I was really burnt out a lot of the time. I think that feelings of weakness may have caused irratability, or just down right tired. It's better this week so far. It better be I have 3 more days back to back.

no, I didn't.

Yah I get snappy sometimes the wife has been commenting. I am doing my best to keep it in check.

Concerning lethargy... I do seem to be needing more sleep but that could be the extra workload. I'll keep an eye on it...

Day 10

Gonna be all good news!!

Kicked the crap outta myself and had a blast..

Reverse grip pulldowns 3 X 10, 3 X 8-6-4 up 15 lbs sleighed it and it was a nice fight at the end ... did not miss a single rep

Decline close grip 3 X 10, 3 X 8-6-4 up 10 lbs this was a fight all the way. When I finished my 3rd set of 10, I was tempted to lower the weight but didn't. My first 8-6-4 was 8-6-6 alright up 2 reps, but I was starting to doubt whether I could keep going at this weight as the 8 and 6 were tough. Then out of nowhere I crushed the second set 8-6-5 now I know I was going to get it done I did 8-5-6 on the third set and almost made that 6th rep on the first drop. My arms were on fire!! Let me tell you the rage was there. As I was walking out of the gym I had that triumphant feeling you get when you know you kicked ass!! The feeling was shared with my training partners as well who were fighting like animals to get in that extra rep. I love sharing that feeling, it's spiritual and pure.

Ok I was a bit hesitant to say so untill I was fairly sure but I am experiencing some form of enhanced recovery with the addition of Product X. I do not experience it with Prime like this, it's the only thing I don't get out of Prime. Last night when I went to bed I was so thouroughly trashed and was suprised to wake up feeling as good as I do now. Thank God for this as I don't know if I could make it through this 5 days on and 2 off without some help.

It's "D" day and I am ready... going to take some jacked and it will be an afternoon workout as today is a Holiday in Quebec. Bring it on!!

We can totally party together.

And what a party it was ....

Day 11

I was much more prepared mentally and physically this time around but let me tell you nothing can completely prepare you for this workout. It's gonna hurt no matter how you approach it.

Deads 4 X 10 up 20 lbs on the first 3 sets then the 4th I added another 10 lbs. It was exhausting but I layed in some groundwork to progress on this exercise. I lift summo and my inner thighs and hamstrings take a pounding so I have to climatize myself to this lift as it's been awhile. Glad to have them back though. 4 X 10 reps I find pretty draining but better than last time for sure.

Things don't get any easier though standing militaries 3 X 10, 3 X 8-6-4 this exercise is very hard to do using this format, I went up 20 lbs from last week and some of that is I was just in better lifting shape this week. The first 3 sets were tough but went ok. The first set of 8-6-4 not so good I was dropping less then 10% and that is not wise on this exercise around 15% is more like it. I made the adjustment and the second set was still tough but I made it. My lungs are gasping for air at this point. I did the third set 6-4-4, yah I hit the wall pretty hard. That's ok I know I worked my asss off.

Seated row 2X6-12-25 although not as exhausting as the heavy lifts there is some serious hurt when you do the drops and have to complete a set of 25. There is a real battle that goes on to finish... I love it!! Got all my reps...

Decline Tri extension 2X6-12-25 another exercise that is tough for this format. The first set I only did 17 on the second drop, I was up 10 lbs from the previous week and my second drop was a little high. I decreased the second drop and finished the second set 6-10-25.

I was so totally trashed after this workout, I just went home had my shake and colapsed on the couch and couldn't move for about 30 minutes. lol the wife was helping up off the couch every time I had to get up to use the washroom.

Woke up this morning with a good amount of recovery, more evidence that Product X enhances my recovery. So I believe the size gain is all about my ability to kick the shite out of myself and recover to do it some more. Plain and simple.

Got up this morning and was looking significantly leaner. I am really anxious for Monday's weigh in as I can see the extra size and leaner look and I just don't know what to expect.

I am getting the strength increases that Prime usually gives but I am still hoping for big kick from product X strength wise, while it's obvious that it has helped me recomp wise I still would love to see some explosive power!! Yah I want it all. May be hard on this routine though, the frequency is pretty tough and so are all the workouts.

That's one heck of a comprehensive workout! I love the deads and military in the same workout, though I must admit I'm a real sucker for a dead/push press superset in particular!

I think that my be difficult at highers reps though, your lungs might explode!!

Oh yeah, it's awesome for conditioning. Very humbling too!

Yah can imagine, would have to be a bit conservative with the weight at first.

I did this heavy leg press dead combo a while back and the plan was 7 sets of 7 supersetted. I used about the normal weight I would have for 7 reps on leg press maybe a little more conservative on the deads... well that was a fuggin mistake. I was on the mat after each set gasping and only made 5 sets. I made the adjustment the next week and was able to eventually supercede my original numbers. You just can't go full capacity on both lifts when your supersetting heavier lifts.
