My gym does have one of those weight "jacks"!! It's a life-saver!! But one can always use those 2 and 1/2 plates like suggested earlier. That's works just as well. :thumbsup:I found it. Wouldn't it be nice to have one of these at the gym!
Nice....:head:The worst is when i was on superdrol and i would get done doing heavy deads and then have to take the weights off with the most serious back pump ever. Not too much fun. there was a couple times i had to lay down for a couple minutes just so i could bend over to take the weights off.
I might need your help with that actually, Volcom. I don't have a video camera. I got a buddy with one but he won't let me borrow it he insists on being there, so far he has been pretty unavailible schedule wise. I do however have a 24 Hour membership, so maybe sometime I could roll out to Glendora or whatever and we could toss up some Vids for this thread. We'll figure something out. I think I'd be sick to toss up some vids of my deadlifts, SLDL, incline bench, I dunno what other lifts people would wanna see...... I could do a smith squat vid like Viking, I'm still trying to significantly outdo him on that one btw hehe, he's a strong mofo for sure.In case some of you are new to my logs and wondering why he's posting his own vids here. It's just like that. As long as I know who you are, "mi thread, su thread." I like sharing struggles and accomplishments at the gym, so the invitation is universal, if you vid yourself doing something extraordinary or something you're proud of performance wise, feel free to share it here, its welcomed and I'm all about giving props and encouragement for your efforts.
Of course not all of us are as strong as Viking (myself included), so you don't need a minimum 605 deads to feel your vid is welcomed. Still waiting on Big Casino's dead lift vids.
Nice to have you back from vacation Viking
I have been trying to perfect my Rx5 (variation of a pistol squat) for a while now. Once I have it ready, I will be trying to do it from lowered position to 2 feet up on to a box. If this happens during the duration of this log....the vid will be yoursIn case some of you are new to my logs and wondering why he's posting his own vids here. It's just like that. First of all, Viking makes all of us feel fat, so you're in good company.I might need your help with that actually, Volcom. I don't have a video camera. Like you said though, it doesn't all have to be 600lbs+ vids, I mean I think people like seeing the vids just in general, if someone is DB Pressing 100s for the first time and that is like their max effort for them then I think people would want to watch that too. I just sharing in seeing people overcome obstacles in general, no matter where their development is.
I'll toss up another few pics in the mean time though, this is actually my facebook pic lol, just me in my bathroom.... trying to intimidate my toothbrush ;-) Not as lean as I want to be, and Viking still makes me feel fat, but hey I'm working on it ;-) The hockey mask one is from Halloween, so don't worry haha
Yeah he does!First of all, Viking makes all of us feel fat, so you're in good company.
On the vid assist, I totally would, but I don't go to 24, I have an L.A. Fitness pass. See if you can use a buddy's digital camera, that's what I use.
Your waste isn't bad for someone with your thickness. I'm naturally on the thick side myself, so the abs are a stubborn obstacle that requires overt due diligence for mere average results, but everyone has their own struggle
x3 on that oneYeah he does!
Yeah bro, neck cramps must lay you outCool vid volcom. Big Casino, the traps are ginormous mah friend!
Once this semester gets in the flow of things and all the external stressors line up (like my internships), then I can sit back and handle the craziness with some sense of stability. I also have to move this Saturday and i drive a Honda, Prelude, which means I'll be renting a U-Haul. My brain hurts.Damn a hand scanner for a gym? Thats hardcore bro!
We have a grill house like that here in O town called Kobe's. Its the sh1t! They for giving me an idea for my date Saturday.
And take it easy on yourself with all the crazy ish goin on. Dont let yourself get too stressed. If you need a day or 2 off from the gym, take it.
Place sounds like the bomb, and $17 for that kind of grub is a hella price. Nice. I love some marinades! (just not having any right now..)Title says it all about the current situation.
Still waiting on the arrival of the Blue GENE, I haven't forgotten about you guys.
My new "life" schedule has thrown my workout schedule all out of whack, so I'll need this week to adjust and find out when I can squeeze a solid workout in. Fullerton has an AMAZING gym, I've just never worked out there yet, it's so big and there's so much going on that it's a bit intimidating. You need a HAND SCAN to get in, not a gym pass, a CIA hand scan. Anyhoo, I think I'm going to check that gym out before class tonight.
P.S. I went to a restaurant last night (Garden Grove, Orange County, for Roland) called Lam Soot Gol, yeah, if that's not FOB award of the year restaurant title... it's a Korean BBQ. You sit and they start up a grill at the center of the table. It's a personal cook grill, not like a Benihana where they cook for you. It's a buffet, only they bring out plates of marinated raw meats and a bunch of side dishes for further marination or dipping sauce and you grill away. There's a button on the table that sounds like a Stewardess call on an airplane that you push if you need anything, like more meat, and every server answers to that button call, so the service was EXCELLENT! They also switch your grills intermittently (ours was switched 3 times) I must have easily eaten 2,000-2,500 kcals in that one sitting. Not all the meats were lean if ya know what I mean, but damn. They brought out this strip of meat that tasted like it was marinated in a terriyaki/brown sugar sauce, cause it tasted meaty, yet sweet and it was tender as hell. They brought out a pile of Spicy Pork, Lamb cuts, Marinated Beef, and Pork Rib cuts. My friend and I went 3 plates and our last plate was just the Marinated Beef. I called it King's Meat cause it tasted fricken amazing.
Then they have an ice cream bar, but not those frozen yogurts that dispense, but ice cream scoopers and real ice cream buckets that you scoop yourself.
$17.00 a person, but let me tell you, WELL WORTH IT, service was outstanding, and the MEATS, [droooool], out of this world. It's also manly cause you get to grill it yourself, I'm sure Snagency would appreciate that.
holy christ. im gonna check this place out. i went to roscoes for lunch yesterday with my gf and best friend. popped an AP before the meal, and i took down the 2 waffles, the chicken, some of my gf's chicken, and an eclipse drink no problem. i need to try that chicken omelet you mentioned tho.Title says it all about the current situation.

When Dr. Brown, the president of the NSCA teaches and researches at your school, stuff like an Outlandish training center are bound to happen.holy christ. im gonna check this place out. i went to roscoes for lunch yesterday with my gf and best friend. popped an AP before the meal, and i took down the 2 waffles, the chicken, some of my gf's chicken, and an eclipse drink no problem. i need to try that chicken omelet you mentioned tho.
i didnt know CSUF had such an epic gym. cal polys is crap. reminds me of the small 24 thats in san dimas. ucla and uc irvine have some awesome gyms too.
thats awesome. we had a proposed rec center which was basically what you just described. they had the students vote on it, and the proposal was rejected. totally bummed me out. oh well tho. When Dr. Brown, the president of the NSCA teaches and researches at your school, stuff like an Outlandish training center are bound to happen.
Here's a break down.
1. It's two stories
2. Outside Olympic Swimming Pool
3. Indoor Track, surrounding 8 volley ball courts
4. 4 basketball courts in it's own building section
5. Two Free Weight and Machine Lifting Rooms, upstairs and downstairs.
6. A packed cycling room, all facing a giant Big Screen.
7. About 50 cardio machines, stairs, steppers, treadmills, each with their own individual television monitors.
8. A giant Rock Climb Wall
9. A cardio room
10. A mixed marital arts room, fully padded floor with upper torso dummies you can smack around.
11. Hand Scanners to get in.
The place is nuts. I believe our facility was inspired by UC Irvine's outrageous facility (so I've heard from staff).

yo where is that korean bbq place? i googled it but nothing came up.
awesome. thanks brotha. cant wait to take my gf there. she appreciates food about as much as me. i just eat more of it. what kind of side dishes do they have other than the obvious brown/white rice?If you use Yahoo maps, it's going to tell you to exit some street that begins with a "T" that street doesn't exist in real freeway life. Exit Magnolia and turn left, just remember that, when you exit Exit Magnolia, it turns into the street that begins with a "T" but Yahoo Maps doesn't tell you that, we took a lucky shot inthe dark and got it, because the next street after Magnolia is Beach Blvd and that's too far down. The rest of the directions will be accurate after that.
As soon as you sit down they start bringing stuff out, like you're a guess at a royal banquet, it's a trip. I don't know what they are, a bunch of korean side dishes to go with the meat. Go and tell me how you like it, I'm sure I'll be back there (after I've earned it; the calories I put away last night, OYE!)awesome. thanks brotha. cant wait to take my gf there. she appreciates food about as much as me. i just eat more of it. what kind of side dishes do they have other than the obvious brown/white rice?
Man, I thought my schedule was hectic.
haha nice. ill keep that in mind when i go. hopefully this week.A little tip Roland.
They have the grills set on really low, I think they're trying to perpetuate a slow eating process. You grill slow, you eat slow, your satiation catches up to you, thus, you ultimately eat less. I reached over and kept turning up the heat to get the meat cooking fast (I totally pigged it last night) so we could keep the meat coming. The heat switch is like a regular stove switch on the side of the table. We had our fire turned down on 3 occasions, but they're Korean and hella polite so they won't say anything, they'll just turn it back down, but when they leave, crank that sucker back up. Just one or two notches, once the meat starts to sizzle, you're good.
That sounds very similar to the experience I had, minus the spicy tofu, and add a bowl of marindade to wade the next round of meats in.I think the meat you liked the best is bul go gi if i'm any guesserThats meat off the beef short ribs. Did they have any soups? theres one I cant recall the name of, a reddish soup with seafood + tofu that is spicy that really kicks ass, and also a cold dish with the cellophane noodles and little bits of veggies + meat in a brownish dressing that i would kill to eat again

With the shreds you have, your body seems to know what to do with all that food in the good way. I'm looking to cut back for an entire week to make up for that night of outrageous splurging (but well worth it). Pastry stuff, never worth it, allowing a burger or some pizza here or there, never worth it, mountains of insanely tasty meats, always worth it.Alright, now you've done it... I'm gonna go eat again.
Yeah, your avi looks like you could use a good meal...Alright, now you've done it... I'm gonna go eat again.
I try to eat healthy, too, when I hit the buffets (for the most part), but So Cal has a bunch of Asian Buffets, so I have to stick with the seafoods, because most of the other meats are breaded and deep fried and rolled around in high sugar sauces.DAMN!!! :frustrate You guys are doing it again. Don't you know that some of us are trying to diet around here??!!! Time to hit the buffet tomorrow. But only for lots of steak, chicken, sweet potatoes, and asparagus. That's a "cheat" meal for ol' Thunder!! But damn tasty..........really.![]()
I never cheat on meals... I lost interest in sweets and fried foods a couple years ago... But I never see meats as a weakness - I will f*ck up a barbeque like no one's business. With the shreds you have, your body seems to know what to do with all that food in the good way. I totally am down with the T-Lake neanderthal diet. Thunda want meat!! :food: My only sweet indulgence is a little peice of milk chocolate, only once in a while. Just a smidge!!I never cheat on meals... I lost interest in sweets and fried foods a couple years ago... But I never see meats as a weakness - I will f*ck up a barbeque like no one's business.
I get a taste of chocolate every day in my shakes... Oh gawd, I need food.
Haha. Just got off a perpetual cut about a month ago, and now I'm putting down ~5,000+ kcal. Feels damn good too.Yeah, your avi looks like you could use a good meal...
