Jose Aldo, Up Close and Personal
Random cool info, but probably only cool to Anton and Rodja. My friend trains at Machado Jiu Jitsu and Blackhouse came in to work with them, so my friend got to observe Jose Aldo, Anderson Silva and I'm not sure if he mentioned JDS, but no Lyoto Machida. According to my friend, he said the myth that Jose's jiu jitsu is actually stronger then his striking is true. He was thoroughly impressed when he observed Jose rolling.

Wow, great transformation pics!
Way to go brotha!, your lookin much leaner!
Great job bud! Definitely leaned out, and retained LBM.
Hey volcom. Good job on your progress. I am curious as too why you train a BB type split while cutting. I see you have your CSCS, and I would have thought you would do say 2 day full body split interval type work, then 2 days of more hypertrophy (say chest and back with light legs and shoulders and arms). You can add your power and compound type lifts in any of the days too. I don't know, or even a more NSCA type program.
Also, are you a strength coach, personal trainer? Thanks.
Sam, wow man, you cut up and added some serious definition. I hope my pics are that drastic!!!!

Awesome progress! Very impressive.
x2-incredible difference.:wow:
Looking beastly Bolo take it easy on JCVD. Remember he is supposed to win
that sucks. my dogs are 10,10 + 11 so i'll likely have issues with all 3 around the same time
My dog didn't really show any real signs of aging until he turned 13 or 14, when the arthritis kicked in. His health didn't seem to be a dire issue, until a couple days ago, when he started deteriorating really fast. He was a relatively healthy old dog, still ran on flat ground, had troubles with stairs due to this arthritis, but still looked like a happy, healthy dog. Whatever is up with him right now has occured pretty aggressively.

I've accompanied my ex girlfriend in high school when she had to put down her dog. It's a peaceful passing, but it is a sad effing sight to watch a dog fade into death.
the part i'll have the biggest problem with if I have to do it with my male dog is that he totally utterly hates going to the vets, for a 21lb dog it takes 3 people to hold him down for an injection.... So for him it won't really be a peaceful end and i'm not sure I can deal with that.
Just the thought of me losing any of my dogs brings a tear to my eye. I took my little girl in to get spayed and I was seriously a nervous wreck all night even though it's a routine surgery. My oldest one is creeping up in 7 and is starting to get really gray around the nose and isn't as mobile as he once was. The day I lose him will be one of the saddest days of my life.
Agree guys, they really are family...
Sorry to hear, as the others said, my dog is my companion, I couldn't imagine.
awww man, nothing like a guy and his dog. only movie to ever make me cry....."My Dog Skip"
Just lost mine at 14 years old.. it was a Pug so it had a long life for that breed.
Sorry to hear this Sam, a sick pet is like a sick family member or friend, never is an easy prospect to deal with.
My condolences bro.
I tried doing those seated db cleans without weights and there is a point in the ROM where its painful as crap for my right shoulder, which isn't a good sign
I could see how that would happen. Is it just the ROM of the Db Cleans for you? Or does your right shoulder hurt in any other shoulder lifts? My workout partner is currently having problems with pressing movements, but everything else he can do, including the seated db cleans.
Most presses too. I can't do barbell presses at all from the pain, but oddly can manage them on a smith ok. But even there I have to cautiously place my elbows at the right angle to avoid pain. I probably need to go see an orthopedist. But its kind of interesting, even doing say a hammer machine press with 230 pounds although it hurts at a certain point only hurts a little, but with nothing in my hands that db clean motion has me at worse pain than getting a tooth drilled without novacain. Crazy. My general pressing pain does get less when I remember to do Dante's broomstick stretches consistently for any amount of time, but I constantly forget
That's so sad. I think the reason you don't grieve over people the same way is that you know that people understand what is happening, but animals don't.
Today was the worst. He was laying in the bathroom and usually when I walk into his sight, even if he's just laying there very sloth like, he'll at least start wagging his tail. Today, when I went into the bathroom where he was laying and got close to him, he turned his head, like how dogs do when they turn down something to eat or find something unpleasant. He seemed to really want to be left alone, which I knew was really bad sign. He didn't want to go for a walk, he heard his leash and didn't budge and you know how dog's recognize the sound of their leash and usually go nuts. Not only did he not react to the sound of his leash, he then turned his head away and didn't want the leash on him because he obviously didn't feel up to walking, so of course I didn't force it. I tried two or three times to bring the leash around and he didn't want it either time. It really seemed like he was waiting for death.
He didn't want to walk and he seemed perturbed by my company. Two things that are the complete antithesis of his personality, poor guy.
