So where are my stim heads at??? :saeek:
You know the ones who are in the gym, full of energy and ready to wreck sh*t!
While stimulants aren’t for everyone most of the more experienced lifters have used stimulants in their pre-workouts for years now and are constantly searching for a new one. Almost all popular preworkout mixes have a decent amount of stimulants added to them.
So why are stimulants so popular? :dunno:
Weather you are a body builder or an athlete using stimulants before any kind of resistance training can benefit you. They help to:
● Boost performance in the field or in the gym.
● Increase lipolysis which results in helping to loose stored body fat.
● Relaxes smooth muscles of the bronchi.
● Increases oxygen and nutrient flow to the brain and muscles.
● Stimulates the CNS resulting in increased alertness, faster and clearer thought, better coordination and focus
As you can see above Pre-workout stims are justifiably popular, but what I want to focus on is their unique ability to help ensure you get pumped up for a hard workout. Using stimulants before a workout intensifies that workout and is sort of like an insurance policy against bad workouts.
Your time in the gym
[wrap2]
We know that a workout should last 45 minutes, 60 minutes at the most. Your energy and testosterone levels will fall off greatly after that. So the answer isn’t longer workouts but more efficient time spent while working out. So how do we make sure none of that time is wasted? How do we make sure we are running at our best and giving that 110%? This is where stimulants help a great deal; they help to make sure your intensity levels are high the whole time you are in that weight room.
You time becomes even more crucial if you take into account the 80/20 rule. This principle states that 80% of the results come from 20% of the efforts. The results you are searching for come from these very intense workouts. We have all had those “great days” before; those days where extremely focused, motivated and had the energy to just destroy the weights. Maybe it was a squat day and you broke a PR and barely could walk out of the gym or maybe an arm day where you had trouble driving home afterwards because your arms were so pumped and spent and could barely turn your steering wheel. These workouts are the key to your growth and success, the ones that make a difference, that crucial 20%. Don’t you wish every workout day was like this?
How beneficial is an intense workout?
“To be intense means to be marked by or expressive by great zeal, energy, determination, or concentration - Ross Enamait”
Now isn’t that what we are all looking for in a workout?
Working out with intensity is one of the main factors between getting results and wasting your time.
Let’s see what Arnold has to say about the importance of intense workouts:
"The last three or four reps is what makes the muscles grow. This area of pain divides a champion from someone who is not a champion.
That's what most people lack, having the guts to go on and just say they'll go through the pain no matter what happens. I have no fear of fainting. - Arnold Schwarzenegger”
If you continue to have mediocre or bad workouts that lack proper focus, drive and energy, you're never going to improve. In many cases the amount intensity you have in the weight room has a direct effect on how successful that workout was.
Weight training isn’t just a physical activity but it is also a highly psychological activity. Having the right mind set, the right determination and the right motivation can mean a world of difference in the weight room. Now combine that with the energy, drive, and focus and you have a winning combination for a successful intense workout.
Increasing focus will make a difference in your workout. If you’re kind of dragging your legs through a workout and aren’t enjoying them and you're just waiting for them to be finished because you are so bored, this is where a stimulant based pre-workout comes in to the rescue!

Many people have found stimulant based pre-workout products to help bring greater intensity to their workouts.
Are stimulants dangerous? [wrap2]
Are stimulants dangerous? Yes they can be if abused or misused in certain manners but in these instances I don’t blame the stimulant, I blame the user. Ignorance is ten times more dangerous than any supplement you take. As with all supplements you should exercise caution. Spend time researching said supplement and weigh the pro and cons of it. Talk with your physician before starting any supplements. You are responsible for your own body, so take care of it.
In summary, making sure you get the best out of your limited time in the gym is crucial. No matter what type of exercise program you're on, your time in the gym is precious and should be spent focusing on your training. If you're training regularly, the last thing you want is a bad workout that can de-motivate you for the rest of the week. Stimulant based workouts help prevent these bad workout days and also help ensure you are focused, alert, have clearer thoughts, better coordination and can help you achieve whatever goals you may have.

Your time in the gym
A common problem for the typical gym lifter is how easy it is to get distracted and/or interrupted while at the gym. Your time in the gym shouldn’t be spent day dreaming or socializing with your buddies. This is not the time to talk about what you did last night or about that upcoming event, this is the time to PUT IN WORK! Your gym time is precious and all of your energy should be spent focusing on what you came there to do. [wrap2]
