Shaddow vs. T-Roid & P-Plex

Thanks, guys. I'm actually a little sad to be ending this, but I guess all good things must come to an end.

I am looking forward to my PCT supplements though, and seeing what DTH, T-911 & PCT Assist stacked will do for me.

If I can stay above 200# and maintain most of my bench and squat strength, I will be a very happy camper.

I'll need to get the gf to take some new pics of me soon, cuz it's been a while...

I have no doubt you'll be adding strength in PCT with all of those goodies.

Did you feel while being "on" PP that the cycle went by slower? All cycles that I've done seem too quick, but I felt like I was on the Phera for ages - not that that's a bad thing.

No, this cycle's actually gone by pretty quick for me, but then again I haven't been smoking much at all lately so maybe that's got something to do with it. ;) :D

Day 35: Thursday, April 30 - LAST DAY ON! :(
Weight: 204.6 (+16.2)

Workout #15 - A2

Incline bench press: 2 warm-ups @ 135x18, 165x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 205x8 (+4 +3 fully spotted) - PR?

+10lbs from last time, and heavier warm-ups. This has to be a PR for me (remember, I suck @ BB). I really don't think I've done this much weight before. I asked my buddy to spot me on my rest-pauses and he probably helped a bit more than I wanted him to, but I suppose that's better than ending up with the BB across my neck in a death choke.

BB overhead press: 2 warm-ups @ 65x18, 95x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 135x8 +3 +FAIL

+10lbs. I did something different on my heavy set this week. I started with the barbell up high on a rack instead of snatching it up and doing my reps. I was able to get 3 reps on my first rest-pause after failing on my rest-pauses the last few times, so this was good. I failed on my final rest-pause, but it was a valiant effort. Time was against me, so I moved on.

Close-grip smith bench: 2 warm-ups @ 135x18, 185x10 -- PAIN!!
Working set with rest-pauses: ****!

These hurt me last time and I didn't complete my rest-pauses. This time it hurt on my second warm-up. **** the Smith bench. I hate this ****. I'm gonna switch this exercise out. It hurts everywhere from my chest through my arms, my forearms, and my wrists. I'm over it.

Close-grip pulldowns: 2 warm ups @ 100x18, 140x12 - Man, this was heavy!
Working set with rest-pauses: 200x6 +3 +2

I went up 20lbs again this time, after going up 20lbs last time. 140 felt heavy as hell for some reason. 200 was OUCH! Managed to get 6, 3, and 2, but I think that was too much weight and I'd like to clean up my form on these a little next time, so I'll likely drop the weight a little.

Deadlifts: 2 warm-ups @ 135x15, 185x12
Working set: 275x5

I said I wasn't gonna go heavy on these. Call me a pussy, but 275 is actually pretty heavy for me. I probably could've gotten a few more reps @ 275, but I was starting to feel it in my lumbar so I stopped. Better safe than sorry. I didn't wanna hobble out of the gym again.

Notes:

My last day on!! But all good things must come to an end.

I had a good workout today and I feel extremely beat up. Ouch. Tomorrow I start PCT. I'm looking forward to some better rest. I'm very interested in seeing what these PCT supps can do for me. I'm expecting good things.

My libido has been pretty high all cycle long. The gf has really been digging that. ;) I'm hoping things don't get too out of whack in the coming days/weeks. My gf's been really cool and understanding about this whole run. I explained to her that I couldn't promise my libido wouldn't be shot for a bit now that my test levels will be slowly recovering. I guess we'll see what happens. It's awesome that she's so understanding and trusts that I have done plenty of research and know what I'm doing. I couldn't imagine hiding what I'm doing or lying to her about things. She's a keeper for sure. Wait, this is log is about bodybuilding, not my gf. Sorry about that.

16+ pounds in 35 days. I can live with that. Even if I lose a few, I'm very happy with the gains I've made, and the strength increases that have accompanied them. I was looking at the pics I posted earlier in this thread, and it's almost laughable how different I look.

I keep running into people I haven't seen in a while - at the gym, at parties, at dinners - and they all keep saying the same things. "You're getting huge," "What are you weighing now, 220?" "You definitely don't look 205! You look way bigger!" Today one of the trainers asked me "What's your body fat at, 6%?" I laughed. "I wish." I wear sleeveless shirts to the gym, and I can understand why they say that. I guess a combination of the lighting, and with my pumps and vascularity going on I would have to admit I'm looking pretty mean and lean. My shoulders are perma-striated when I'm in the gym. I am still holding a good amount of fat in my midsection though. Still got the tire going on. Not so sure I really care much to do anything about it at the moment either. I'm still after more size. I wanna get to 220. Then I'll cut.

Oh. ****. When the hell did I cook? It seems like just a few days ago. I need to get off here, cuz I've gotta go grill up 4 racks of chicken. I don't know how I ate all that chicken already, but it's gone. I actually went to bed (somewhat) hungry last night cuz I had no more chicken and some ground beef I had in the fridge went bad.

Thanks again to everyone for all your support and for following along. It really means a lot.

Ok. Here we go. Time to see how this PCT treats me.

WTF???

I just read that Jose Canseco is set to fight Hong Man Choi on May 26 @ Dream 9. Are you ****ing shitting me?!? Seriously????

No, seriously.

SERIOUSLY?!?!?

:stupid:

Uh, Canseco got KTFO by some newscaster last year. That will end badly.

I try to have the conversation with my girlfriend, but I just tell her what I'm taking - I don't get too in depth, because she tunes out when she doesn't understand something. But she is very supportive - just tries to make me eat garbage more than I like.

Very good cycle man... Impressive.

Your cycle was extremely well planned and executed. I know you had your sleep issues, but seemed to overcome them while gaining some serious muscle. Way to keep pressing through and I think with your T911 and other goodies it should go well. I have gained weight my first week on T911 solo and I have been keeping my diet in check. :dunno::wtf1: My libido never suffered too much on my MMV3/2 run and it has been elevated this week for sure.

I'm telling you guys, T-911 makes you feel like you're still on...although the weigh gain is a little out of the norm, albeit in a good way! Hopefully I experience this as well in my PCT starting Saturday.

I was not hoping or wanting weight gain at this time so I am frustrated by the scale. However, I don't feel overly bloated or anything so I don't feel it is bad weight gain. I will say that I am still getting pumps similar to MMV2 with T911 solo. I have not even taken a pwo drink and only use Xtend currently intra workout. Definately an impressive product!

haha, cycle went by quick for me. But hey, i just caught this thing :spank:.

Lookin solid bro, cant wait to see how PCT treats you. Gonna be sick

I wouldn't worry man. Keep your diet and cardio in check and you are sure to make progress. I feel people get too caught up on what the scale says. Stress will make it harder to lose weight and stressing about the scale isn't going to help.imo

Thanks for all the support, guys! I woke up @ 206 today, so I'm still climbing, at least in my first day of PCT!! I'm gonna give this thing hell. I'm definitely not backing down.

My short-term goal is to keep running with this bulk until I get to a solid 220, then I'll look to cut a little. That way I'll definitely still be above 200#, hopefully 210ish @ ~8%. Long-term goal = 240 & ripped repping 315 on squats and bench! I've got a long ways to go!! But I'm in for this marathon, fo sho!!

We're both the same distance away from our target weight. I'm 186 looking for 200, you're 206 looking for 220...Hopefully I can keep this going at a good pace. I'm about to start PCT myself tomorrow. Interested to see how it will go.

GODDAMMIT!!!

I ****ing took a nap, just woke up, and forgot the gym closes @ 8 on Saturday. :frustrate

Guess I'll have to go in tomorrow instead. ****!! I hate missing workouts.

BTW, 206.4 this morning, so I'm still climbing in PCT. That's +18 since Day 1, and my appetite is HUGE right now.

Dat der T911 good stuff mang.

How are the workouts?

edit: ....when you don't take naps and miss them, that is.

Well, today was supposed to be my first day in the gym since dropping the anabolics, but that didn't work out too well. :zx11pissed: I'll get back to you on that tomorrow.

LOL!! I can't tell you how many times I've done that. It's even worse when my gym closes at 11. Good luck with your PCT run, brother man.

Day 38: Sunday, May 3
Weight: ?

Workout #16 - B2

BB curls: 2 warm-ups @ 45x18, 75x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 105x4 +FAIL +95x6 +2

105 just felt extremely heavy today. I lost 2 reps, and my forearms hurt bad. I've been having this issue on preacher curls as well where I feel a lot of stress in the bones of my forearm, almost like there's stress fractures in them and they're about to snap in half or something. It's weird. Not much I could do about it. I went down on my rest-pauses after failing, but it still hurt. The worst part is letting go of the barbell once I finish. As soon as the weight is out of my hands it's like *ZING* deep pain. Ouch. I hate that I went down in reps/weight. Gotta keep trucking though.

Hammer curls: 2 warm-ups @ 25x18, 40x12
Working set: 60x7 - PR

+5lbs, and a PR. My forearms don't hurt as bad on these for some reason, thought I can still feel it. It's just the heavy barbell work that gets me.

Seated calve raises: 2 warm-ups @ 90x15, 140x10
Working set with rest-pauses: 190x6 +3 +2

5-second negatives, and 5-second holds at the bottom. These are brutal. One more rep than last time. My calves were absolutely screaming on these.

Seated Leg Curls: 2 warm ups @ 105x18, 145x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 190x8 +4 +3

This machine has a hand dial that you turn to add anywhere from 5-15 pounds to the exercise, and I didn't realize it was turned to +15 on my warm-ups, but they felt heavy. Doh! Managed 2 more reps on my working set and extra reps on my rest-pauses after having to hand assist last time. Good stuff.

ATG Squats: 2 warm-ups @ 135x18, 185x12
Working set: 275x4 - PR
Widowmaker: 185x19

My back was really stiff today, and I could feel it on my 2nd warm-up @ 185. I was honestly a little nervous when I got under 275, but I pushed it and didn't quit. I refused to quit. My gf was doing squats at the same time, so we were alternating, and she was cheering me on and it was awesome. I wanted to impress her. I shocked myself with 2 reps, then a third, and when I hit that fourth rep @ 275 I was feeling good about things. But it definitely took a toll on my back, and my lumbar is stiff as a board right now. I moved onto my widowmaker, and I had it! Dammit!! I was tired @ 8 reps, but kept going. I just kept pushing. I got to 16 and I felt pressure in the back of my head. On reps 18 and 19 I was in serious pain. Just before I could go down for my 20th rep to complete the widowmaker the back of my head was pulsating HARD, and I just couldn't take it. I could feel my heart beating through my skull, and it honestly felt like my head was gonna explode. I had to put the weight down. I *KNOW* I had it in me to hit that 20th rep. I was tired, but I could have definitely muscled it out. But my head wouldn't let me. :( I put down the weight and collapsed to the floor clutching the back of my head, and I couldn't talk or move for like 5 minutes. My gf had to drive home afterwards cuz I was in serious pain.

Notes:

I woke up @ like 8am today, but laid in bed with the gf until almost noon. It was just one of those days. I guess you can call it extended fasted cardio. ;) I'm disappointed with my work on the bb curls - my forearms (left one especially) are partially to blame, but the weight just felt really heavy today. I still managed to go up on other exercises though. I moved some good weight (for me) on squats today, setting another PR. I was almost tempted to try 315 for one rep, but my gf suggested against it, and I knew she was right; my lumbar absolutely hates me right now. I'm short on calories for the day. I've only eaten 3x. I'm overdue for a meal, but my head is still killing me and I don't know if I can stomach food right now, but I guess I'm gonna have to try and eat anyways. I really just wanna lay down...

Widows really test your mettle... I dig 'em. Makes every other sh*t situation in life a little more manageable.

Wouldn't worry about getting 20 EVERY time... though it is nice.

What really pisses me off is that I KNOW I could've gotten 20, but the back of my head felt like it was about to explode. If I fail cuz my muscles can't take it that's one thing, but failing cuz I could feel my rapid heartbeat pulsating through my skull is just a straight kick to the nuts. :nutkick:

That's the second time that's ever happened to me, both times on squats, and it's just as frustrating as the last time.

very nice PR's :)

Thanks, Sunny. :)

I need to start doing those widowmakers. I've been enjoying the low-rep range as of late. I'm going to have to start knee wrapping again, too. Mine are getting bad.

I didn't take before measurements (well, actually I did, but I lost them :frustrate), but here's some new updated measurement pics.

For comparison's sake, here are my measurements from this past October, which is the last set of measurements I have written down:

Chest: 40"
Biceps (flexed): R 16"
Thigh: R 22.5"
Calves: R 16"

And now (in case you can't read the pictures. LOL):

Chest: 42.75"
Biceps (flexed): R 16.75"
Thigh: R 25.5"
Calves: R 17"

Also, I'll try to work on some real photos, cuz I'm way overdo for pics.

Oh, and one more thing -- I was talking about filming my incline flies on Tuesday in MrBigPR's log so I could get some critiques/feedback from you guys. I don't understand why I push so much more weight than most people on this movement so I've concluded that I must be doing something wrong. :dunno: I believe the gf will be able to meet me at the gym after class, so hopefully I'll have some videos to share with you guys.

I believe I'll be attempting the flies @ 40, 60, and 85 lbs. I welcome all constructive criticism as I'm really trying to understand what is causing such great disparity in my numbers on this one lift vs. other people with similar strength, or who are stronger than me in most other lifts.

Nice new PR's, bro! Have you considered throwing in some Black Hole by Controlled Labs to increase appetite, and a bit of Beta-Alanine for strength? What exactly are widowmakers (perhaps i've got a diff name for them)? And your thigh is only 22.5" - it looks to be close to 26"?

Thanks, bro! My appetite does NOT need help right now though. LOL. As soon as I came off cycle it went up tenfold, and I am literally hungry within 30 minutes to an hour of absolutely stuffing myself. I've just been lazy all day and dealing with this headache all night, so I haven't been keeping up with my diet, but hopefully I'll start feeling better tomorrow and I'll try and get some extra food in then.

I've got a ton of BA, but I haven't touched it in a while cuz it upsets my stomach every time. I might start messing with it again in a little while.

Widowmakers are 20-rep squats @ your 12-rep weight. So I do 2 warm-ups, one @ 18 reps, and one @ 12 reps. Then I do my heavy set. Then I use the weight that I hit 12 reps at, and the idea is you don't stop until you get to 20. You can pause at the top (or the bottom if you're a masochist) for as long as you need, take some breaths, try and get the blood flowing so you don't black out, and just keep banging them out until you get 20 reps. I should've hit it today if it hadn't been for the back of my head nearly exploding.

And the 22.5" is the measurement from last fall, just for comparison. I'm a little bigger than 25.5" right now, which is +3" since about October. I wish I had pre-cycle measurements, but I don't, so I just posted those up for shits and giggles.

Oops! Sorry, bro, I just glanced through the last page and didn't read anything in depth, so I obviously missed those few things you mentioned.. i.e. appetite and i didn't even see two sets of measurements. Those widows sound tiring, and LOL @ "masochist." Definitely a lot of improvement since last fall. I wish you all the best during your PCT run.

Bro if you are having forearm pains while doing curls...stop rest pausing! Seriously! I hurt my forearm/wrist like 6 months ago and it STILL hurts and is holding me back. Dont overdue it bro. Be safe.

As for the BA, best way to do it is ramp it up SLOWLY. Start at 2g/day and move up a gram/week. And so on until you get to an amount you are comfortable with. I've gone as high as 10g/day. It took me like 2 months before I could handle that much (because of tingles). Just my .02c

teh Tingles. I remember when I first got them on BA driving back from the gym after a fasted cardio session. It itched SOOOOOO bad. I was about to get out of my truck and jump in front of a car to end it....Now I can slam 10g and not have any issues at all.

10g in a single serving?!!!

I agree forearm curls are not supposed to be rest paused for this reason just a heavy straight set.
