Shaddow vs. T-Roid & P-Plex

A couple of interesting variables I'd like to note at this time which may be contributing to my extreme early gains:

  • This is my first time utilizing DC training (or HIT for that matter); I had been doing high volume for the past several years.
  • Drinking 2 cups of calcium fortified ff milk every day (100% RDA calcium). I NEVER used to drink milk.
  • Have been averaging ~50% more sleep than I usually get.
  • Added digestive enzymes to all major meals for the first time.
  • Taking 10g creatine & 50g dextrose immediately PWO which has always seemed to lean me out on cycles, even when bulking.
  • This P-Plex & T-Roid combo just flat out seems to be the ****! :D I felt the compounds working in the first few days, and I'm adding mass and leaning out at the same time. You can't beat that!!!

Day 12: Tuesday, April 7
Weight: 200.2 (+11.8)


I woke up fine on Monday, but my throat started hurting me a bit late in the afternoon, so I ended up taking a nap and laying around most of the day. I had wanted to get into the gym for some cardio and core work, but I figured it would be better to rest up so I could hit the weights today. I missed a couple of meals, but the gf came over and took care of me and made me some food and I think I still managed to get most of my calories in.

Got to bed early and was feeling a little better last night, but I woke up this morning and my throat is feeling worse. I had been having a rough time with my allergies the past 4 or 5 days; these ****ing cherry blossoms are blooming everywhere and it's been absolute hell for me, so maybe it's related.. I'm kinda pissed right now cuz I have a gym session tonight, and I'll be really pissed if I can't make it in.

I'm gonna go force some food down and lay down for a bit. If anyone has any suggestions for making a sore throat go away, I'm all ears. I have some Tylenol sore throat medicine, but I don't like taking NSAID's and I'm not sure if Tylenol works the same way?

Anyways. Hopefully I can update today's post with a workout this evening. If not I'll be really pissed. I'm just not feeling so hot right now. It feels like I have a baseball stuck in my throat.
 
Oh. And if you noticed above, this is the first morning that I have woken up at >200 lbs. which was my initial 6-week goal. I met that goal in less than 2 weeks, despite being sick the past 24 hours. Kickass.

I had a similar sore throat issue on my cycle and several other logs I follow have had sore thoughts/colds while ON. I wonder if the hormones and the fact your body is using lots of resources to build the mass is the reason.

It is..your putting a huge toll on your body and it weakens the immune system.
 
Up your Vitamin C immidiately. Up your vitamin/mineral complexes. Give yourself 2 days OFF to recover. Eat a high-carb diet on your OFF days. Increase hydration; add Gatorade to the mix. Don't take any stimulants of any kind during these days.

.. I freak out with ANY sign of immune system fatigue. I try to find methods to deal with it each and every time. With nearly 12 lbs added to your frame, it's no wonder your body is in SHOCK!

be careful man. i agree with the high vitamin C dosing. also, possibly take zyrtec for the allergies so you can more efficiently figure out whether its allergy related or immune system related.
 
First, thanks to everyone for the advice and support. This feels mildly similar to how I felt on M1T before, so I'm assuming my immune system is low and I've just gotta take it easy. This past weekend it was about 70 degrees, yesterday was a miserable, rainy day, and today was so cold I actually saw snowflakes a few times when looking out the window. As badly as I wanted to get into the gym today I decided that it's still not worth risking getting any sicker and instead stayed home. I've actually been sleeping most of the day. I'm definitely short on calories today, but I'll just have to regroup tomorrow and get back on track.

I've been taking Noxidant a few times daily the past couple days, extra Gut Health, upped my Vitamin C, echinacea/goldenseal pills, and have been drinking this echinacea, zinc, and vitamin C tea. My water intake has remained high (~2 gallons daily). I took some Claritin D in hopes that it might possibly clear up any allergy related issues that may be complicating things, but I didn't notice any improvement.

I've been sweating a lot at night, and I think I'm gonna start changing my shirt every time I get up to pee (which happened like 4 times last night).

My throat is actually feeling a lot better, but I am still blowing nasty **** out of my nose and I'm still feeling a bit under the weather. I'm sure I'll wake up <200 tomorrow, but I guess these are the breaks.

I'm pretty sure I'll be good to go tomorrow. I'll see if I can't squeeze one more meal in later tonight before bed. For now I'm gonna climb back into bed and throw in a movie.

Damn, I just realized I might have to workout at a different gym tonight cuz the cable row machine has been broken for like a week. Some jackass slammed the weight and took apart the pulley system. *******. I should call and find out if it's fixed yet.



Edit: Well, the machine's still broken. Looks like I'm taking a drive tonight so I can do my workout.

Incline db flies: 2 warm-ups @ 35x18, 50x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 80x9 +4 +3 - PR

I'd never attempted 80lbs on db incline flies before. I was feeling strong. Pump after these was ridiculous all through my arms, shoulders, and upper chest. Dear God. Ridiculous. How am I gonna do shoulder presses?!?

BB shoulder press: 2 warm-ups @ 65x18, 95x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 135x8 +3 +2

It took me a few minutes to even get started on these cuz the pump through my arms/shoulders/chest wouldn't allow me to raise my arms over my head for more than a few seconds. It was nuts. I thought I would struggle a bit more with 135, but I did alright. Could definitely tell I was sick on the rest pauses. Oh yeah. Recovery energy is very low today. Can't breathe. Gotta dig real deep.

Bent-over triceps extensions: 2 warm-ups @ 80x18, 100x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 150x10 +6 +2

This machine is a little different than the one at my gym and I kept hitting my head with the cable on my warm-up sets. LOL. Got the hang of it, but recovery was poor on my rest-pauses.

Pull-ups: 2 warm ups @ BWx10, 7
Working set with rest-pauses: BWx8 +3 +2

I don't know if it's the increase in bodyweight, or if everything had just taken a toll on me by this point, but pullups were TOUGH!! Y'ouch! I was doing a dozen, followed by 8-10 and 6-8. A bit off from those numbers tonight.

Wide-grip cable rows: 2 warm-ups @ 85x18, 120x12
Working set: 180x10

It's been a long time since I've done wide-grip cable rows. That was actually a bit more weight than I thought I could pull, but I did ok with it. I was so spent, but I just gave it my all and was glad to get this last set done so I could go home.

Notes:

The first thing that popped into my head when I sat down in the driver's seat and started the engine on my trip to the gym tonight is "Man, I'm really actually sick." I look at my girlfriend and she's like, "Baby, you're really sick. You should probably be staying home." Ha. That's exactly what I was thinking. It's like she read my mind. Well, **** it, I've gone too far. I'm in the car. I'm going. I'm glad I did. I feel good. I feel strong. Muscles feel full and I'm starting to see some nasty striations in my shoulders, arms, and chest. Somehow I did not lose weight last night and instead maintained and woke up at 200.2 again. I am looking leaner and thicker with every passing day. I should probably do new pics at least every week. I truly can't say enough about this stack. I'm gonna lay down and get some rest and try to heal up and get past this cold/fever/whatever it is. Still taking extra C, Gut Health, echinacea/goldenseal, finished my Noxidant, will have to buy more. I actually feel better now than before I went to the gym. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. :)
 
Client visit Monday morning. I'm going to stay at the Mandarin on Sunday night, but I'm getting in kinda late (9). Still though, if you're around, definitely get at me.

I'll be around, but I'm still kinda sick. I got my gf sick too. (Ooops.) LOL. I'll probably be getting out of the gym ~10 on Sunday. Shoot me a PM, if I'm better by then maybe we can grab a bite or something.

BTW, I'm a retard and I just remembered that they close @ 8 on Sunday. It's 10 on Fridays (today). And 11 Mon-Thurs. I think it should be 11 every night. Bastards.

Yeah, mine is 11PM all week... 9 on Saturday and Sunday... But I think in the summer they drop the Sunday to 5 or 6, which I think is ass backwards and retarded.

Wide-grip preacher curls: 2 warm-ups @ 45x18, 75x8
Working set with rest-pauses: 85x6 +3 +3

This was my first time doing these and that wide bar makes them a bitch! Lot of stress in the wrist. I'll be hurting from this one. :hammer:

BB shrugs: 2 warm-ups @ 225x18, 315x12
Working set with rest-pauses: 405x7 +4 +3

This was supposed to be a forearm exercise, but I realized I'm not working traps (except for that one day when I did it on a cardio day. But, shhhh, don't tell anyone.)

Smith calve raises: 2 warm-ups @ 135x20, 275x20
Working set with rest-pauses: 455x11 +6 +6

405 shrugs, followed with 455 on my back on the calve raises, and straight into deads. My back was tight and compressed, and deads just sounded like a bad idea. Deep inside it kinda felt like a bad idea. I proceeded with caution.

Sumo deadlifts: 2 warm ups @ 135x18, 225x6 - Stopped.
Working set with rest-pauses: X

Yeah, I knew this would happen. My lumbar got tight and my back went stiff. I was prepared for it though. I gotta talk to the jackass who wrote this program. Oh wait, that was me. :rippedhand:

Sled Press: 2 warm-ups @ 360x18, 540x12
Working set: 720x8 +4 +3

Holy crap. Rest-pauses were absolutely brutal.

Notes:
I am still sick, but I am feeling a little better. Still can't breathe through my nose. Recovery during workouts is still very low.

As far as today's workout, that was way too much load on my back for one day. My lumbar is stiff and tight, and I will have to stretch a lot and try to deload somehow. I'll have to be very cautious the next few days. I'm gonna have to tweak my routine.

Weight is just sticking to me. This is nuts. +14 pounds at the start of day 15. Today I was supposed to up phera dosage to 30mg, but I have decided to stay at 20mg until/unless I stop gaining, at which point I will raise to 30. I just see absolutely no reason to increase dosage when I am still packing on a pound a day.

The gf made me eat a lot today. I am about to lay down @ 209. I'll probably lose like 6lbs in piss and sweat tonight though. LOL. Don't worry, I get out of bed to piss.

I have to do cardio/core work tomorrow. Have to. Tomorrow I'm cheating. Sushi. That's all for now.

I feel people should dose these things (hormones, roids, PH's) at the very lowest possible dose and still be able to make positive gains with them.

I know some will think this is a hypocritical statement coming from me after seeing some of my cycle stacks and their dosages. But with my experience level, both with weight training in general (26 years) and roid/PH experience, I need to dose them that high to get any effect from them.

But you're doing the right thing shaddow. You're dosing low as possible (20 mg. of Phera) and making outstanding gains!! :woohoo:

I feel the same way. Shaddow, you're gaining 1lb/day, man, that's awesome! What more are you looking for? Gains are way up, sides seem to be non-existent...I think you'd only be hurting yourself by upping the dosage.

Working set with rest-pauses: 160x8 +5 +4

I used my straps @ 160 and I think I'm gonna start doing that from here on out. Up from 150x8+4+4 last week.

DB rows: 2 warm-ups @ 50x18, 70x12
Working set: 110x8

No rest-pauses for back thickness. IIRC, that ties a PR. (Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a PR.) Up from 105x8. I'll be sure it's a PR next week when I go for 115.

Didn't even realize my gym closed at 2 today until like 12:30. Had to rush to get to the gym and get my workout in. Ugh. I should've eaten at 1, but tired, lethargic, hungry, and stoned, I had to get that workout in regardless.

Man, your success has me wanting to pop that left over M-Drol for the last 2 weeks of my MMV2 cycle. Your weight gain is fuggin sick bro and you are as stong as an ox!
