Ya, bench press has gone up like 65lbs in a few weeks since going back to eating "normal"

I was probably severely overtrained from a CNS point twords the tail end as well.

But @jgntyce has said he's getting a lot of strength increases too so that could also be playing a role in why strength is coming back so fast

Yup yup yup. The ingredients in the product are synergistic in that they’re all working together. Strength, lean muscle, and now I experiencing greater focus during my lifts at the gym.
 
Got pressed for time and I only did a boxing workout today. I also went over my food log notes at dinner and I'm average 3800 calories per day the past 6 days lol.

The Pop-Tarts night is kinda skewing the numbers but still. Even today I'm at 3487.

I'm going to work on cleaning up the food selection but I plan to keep calories higher like this. The past few days I've thrown in a few random single serving bags of chips, had Ginger ale with dinner a few times. Some chocolate chip zucchini bread my kids made, had ice cream one night. Basically I'm eating like 5 clean meals with 500-600 calories of crap sprinkled on top.
 
One thing with the extra calories, besides giving you more fuel for workouts, is when you do start back on cutting the final weeks, your metabolism is so high you should peel back that last little bit of weight with no problem.

Ya, the way I'm burning through calories is nutz. If I put a little more effort in the gym I can probably get my maintenance calories to 3600-3800

Just stepped on the scale 196.4, so it's only a slight surplus still lol. Normally my maintenance calories are only about 3000 at 195-200lbs
 
Fluckin ball buster today, got sent to a pile driving job today at 630 am. Material didn't show up right and we basically were loading and unload trucks and rigging Crane loads all day. Got 10.5 hours on the clock and it was a hell of a workout lol.

Then after work I hit the boxing gym
Weighted chins 50x5,5,6
Bent row from blocks. Definitely a litte swing action but 265x5,5,5

Heavy bag work with bodyweight squats and wall sits in between rounds 30min total

Walking lunges 100x10x4 with a 20 rep squat at the end

Barbell curl 65x8 I stopped because it was bothering my wrist so I grabbed a pair of 30 lb dumbbells and did a 20 rep set of hammer curls and called it a wrap.

Came home and had a massive breakfast for dinner

Six whole eggs, six sausages, three waffles and a little bit of maple syrup. Was about 1500 calories, 💪

Anytime you have to load and unload anything that long at work, that should count as extreme pre-exhausted. That makes that 265 3x5 on Bent Over Rows even more impressive, especially considering that was after Chin-ups.

There's definitely momentum being used, I'm doing them like a power exercises with a belt on and using wrist straps. If I tried to use that weight for a strict controlled rep the weight would pull me forward on my face lol.

I'm grappling tonight and going to be doing more grappling with some of the MMA guys. Those cheat rows will have carry over to ripping someone off there feet and slamming them lol.

I'm going to be helping a guy get ready for there next fight so I'm gonna do some sparring and grappling with them and I'm also gonna try to help fix there diet. Should be fun.

Sounds like a ton of fun to me. Pain is worth it if you mix in enough pleasure, or if there's a worthwhile pay off at the end. I bet you'll have a blast and might even surprise yourself with how well you hold your own.

I'm more concerned about how I'm going to feel for the 2-3 days following lol.

I was a all state wrestler like 200 years ago so I know I can keep up enough. If they didn't think I could keep up with them they wouldn't want me to do it in the first place cuz it wouldn't be beneficial.

We ended up just practicing some submissions for like 30min and called it quits. We took a ride up to the casino and ate some Bobby Flay's Burgers instead lol.

He said **** it we can get started next week. He's 16 weeks away from his fight so I can tell he's mentally not ready to train yet. Definitely was more interested in getting 🍔🍔 and 🍨🍦 lol

Its ok, it's a decent quality Burger and they never screw it up meaning like it's always cooked perfectly to order but it's not like mind-blowing or anything but you're never going to have a bad Burger there

Ankles were kinda hurting so I did 100 bodyweight calf raises after. I'm sure it didn't do anything for muscle growth but I really just wanted to see how much I could move them and stretch them and stuff like that.

Looks like you’re steadily pushing more weight…they probably heard about your strength increases, and decided it was a better business decision to eat burgers than to get body slammed.💪

Sorry that was supposed to say I really need to get my leg strength back and build them back up again. Legs are my weak point and I was doing a good job at building them up for a while and they took a big hit during that cut or boxing training whatever you want to call it.

Coming back fast, especially upper body. Gotta get more frequency on my legs. It seems like everything I do more frequently grows more for me. I was never giving arms their own day and I started randomly adding some extra arm work in and my arms got better.

When I had those shoulder injuries I started doing more rotator cuff stuff and training shoulders three or four times a week in small doses and my shoulders got much better I think it's time to do the same thing for legs and maybe back too.

Also, next possible fight night were looking at is not till November so I got way more time then original plan

Yeah when I got down to 230 last summer I wasn’t doing barbell stuff for 8 weeks, so I was doing lots of heavy chins and then did some heavy curling for a while. Now that I’m preparing for another competition, I’m not doing any appreciable dedicated bicep work and my arms are smaller despite weighing 30+lbs more! Or at least visually smaller compared to the rest of me; I haven’t taped them.

I'm gonna go get my pull work+hamstrings done and then hopefully I can convince them that we should stay in the water park all day lol.

Note to self, I may start using planet fitness on Sunday mornings lol. There's like 7 ppl in the building right now. It's like being in a giant personal home gym. Just can't go super heavy but who cares I can do my deadlifts and stuff like that during the week

I really like the way you navigate road blocks to get your workout in…..if gym isn’t open, you look for one that is, or do alternative workouts. That’s determination and dedication, that a lot of guys could learn from. Sometimes guys just accept the built in excuse and are like “Meh it’s just one workout”, but those add up over the year. I’ve always thought you have to be flexible, and just at least do something. Even if all you get in is a variety of push-ups and pull-ups.
Enjoy Six Flags….we have a Six Flags over Georgia, and love taking the Grandkids. Old Paw Paw here may can still bench and curl good, but man when we go to Six Flags I have a hard time walking the next day because of the feet. 😂 So I feel ya on de-feet.

Not terrible seeing I was at an amusement park but $14. I also have season passes with the platinum card or whatever which gets me 15% off of food and free admission free parking and stuff like that. Six flags is 1 hour and 15 minutes from my house so if we go two to three times a year the package pays for itself.

That thing says on the menu it's 1990 calories, but honestly I think it's more than that LOL. I couldn't finish the last couple bites I felt like I had eaten an entire jar of pure lard 😂😂😂

That's the worst part about today's society, no1 should be dressed that way in public around children.

But if a hot chick does it (which she shouldn't) people will call her out. But if a big fat woman dresses like that they get supported, "you look great girl" or "that's a confident woman".

Some jobs we have to wait 30 minutes after the last strike to start work again, or once lightning is within 10 miles all outside work stops

Union pile driver and I'm in Connecticut, and yes we have to wait 30 minutes once lightning strikes but I believe it's only within 2 miles not 10 I can't remember off the top of my head. We called it quits though

I worked for myself as a painter for like 13 years, still do on the side. The job I'm on right now is my first job as a pile driver and I haven't done a job in the Carpenters Union in like 16 years so whatever that company is I probably didn't work for it lol
