Thanks, I've been checking it out. The internet is a great thing!
How did you prep for posing in your competitions? Did you have a coach or courses?
Squats super-setted with lunges..... ouch baby, very ouch....
Yah I used to do that one... fuggin Hated it... I hate lunges period..:boggled:

Missed the gym this morning, turned off my alarm instead of snoozing. Fortunately I'll be going to a gym on Saturday so I can make it up, but I was hoping to use Saturday as a bonus leg day.
We'll see if I can do some cardio tonight, not likely because it's my wife's birthday and St. Pattys day so it'll be hard to find time...
Green protein shakes for St. Patty's? My wife gave her students green milk and shamrock cookies, which I had to help put frosting on last night. Our apartment smelled of baked butter and cookie dough.... hurtful....

Now that sounds rough given our situation... my wife makes and nightly snack of my favorite cookies, they're always sitting there in the kitchen ... tempting me.. I can't even eat them during carb up as cookies contrain too much fat when you have that much insulin on the flow....:rant2:
I feel you! My wife has been cleaning up her diet quite a bit as a result of my increased strictness and attention to detail, but she still likes to get her wine/chocolate/chips on in front of me! She complains that when I make my evening eggs, that it always makes her hungry. Go figure!
Also working against me is our 4 year old son who bakes shamrock (and other) cookies with mommy, and always wants daddy to try everything. Hard to refuse your own son!
The real test will be dinner out tonight at Champps, followed by Cheesecake Factory for desert!
Nice workout. I've done those BB bench to BB rows set up before, it gets exhausting. That whole push/pull deal is exhausting.

Hope the androlean works out for you man. Great log so far
good stuff can't wait to see how the posing thing works out.
Posing was ROUGH! I did an hour arms/shoulder workout, then went straight into posing for 1 hour (no breaks, just back to "relaxed" pose). I was dying at the end, felt nauseous as hell and had to chill in my car for 20 minutes before I could drive.
There were 3 other dudes, 2 were competing in the April event. One was really shredded already, and has competed 3 times before. He's in my weight class, so it'll be tough. The instructor told me to up my cardio to 60 minutes twice a day, 6 days a week on top of weights 5 days a week! Oh, and also posing practice 3 times a week!
I don't know if I'm going to have time to do all this, I'm already failing tonight since I haven't gotten on the treadmill yet!!!
Wow that's 2 hours a day? I have never do that much myself. When is your date again and what are you sittiing at?
Ronnie and Jay do 2-a day 60min sessions I believe, but at a super low intensity. Morning cardio and like 12 or 2am, something crazy.

Yah it's low intensity when it gets that high that's a given...
Yeah cardio blows. But i need to get a treadmill for home. Wheres a good place to get one? Was thinking of looking on craigslist for one on the cheap..
I looked there too, but the prices were too high for the quality (and age / wear / tear) of the treadmills, plus transportation of the treadmill assembled (don't have a truck), and no knowing how good they kept up on maintenance with no warranty.
I decided to buy a NordicTrac T8.0 at Sears for about $700, and that came with a warranty and was brand new. Assembling it was easy, about 2.5 hours tops. It has a 3.0 CHP motor and extra long deck which are both really good at that price. I really like it, works well for me from LISS to HIIT running. My wife likes it too, very convenient.
Check out Craigslist, hopefully there's something good for a low price. Kleen also has some good input on treadmills. I think OnlyChevy got one recently to avoid the coyotes in his neighborhood!

Ya my GF actually wants to buy one. I'm not sure how much shes willing to spend. Probably $500 tops.
I don't know how you would search this, but private gyms going out of business have their equipment on fire sales, or private gyms in general trying to make room for newer equipment tend to sell stuff dirt cheap. Even if they're simply rearranging, not all their equipment stay on the roster and they want to give it away for cheap.
Yeh Craigslist is the first place I would look bro. If not there then maybe see if you have a local place that sells used sporting goods and stuff. We have one where I live and they get treadmills every now and then

Just read your latest entries thanks for the motivation.
I haven't seen pumping iron in awhile.great great movie.I wish they would do one for the current generation.
At their bodyweight just walking to the fridge is cardio lol. That is just for pre-contest right? Do you know what they do in the off season?
I don't know how you would seek out these sales, but I worked at a private performance facility and the owner simply wanted to remove a few pieces of equipment; a treadmill, two incline benches, a rowing machine and a cables set up and he wanted dirt cheap for them. The cables machine he was willing to give away as long as you had the means to pick it up and move it.
He himself bought out a bunch of equipment off some guy who was closing his gym, so I don't know how to search it, but I know first hand its out there.
So my GF tells me today that a lady she works with said she'll give us her Bowflex Treadclimber for free. Guess she never uses it.. Anyone ever used one?

criagslist I got lucky a few years ago and found a guy who had 500+ of weights and a some golds gym squat rack and press.he was moving so he let it go cheap.
I agree I'd take the classic bb look over the guys today.
Wow...FREE? I'd jump all over that bro!
