everytime I hear about posing I think about the pumping iron part where arnold is takiing ballet and I think of kai green and his over the top posing routines.

def a good move taking classes.posing is a workout and hard work in itself
 
I need classes for posing, I really suck! I guess I didn't spend enough time in front of the mirror during my adolescence/college years!

How did you prep for posing in your competitions? Did you have a coach or courses?

I used to have a coach and really missed him last spring, he came down and helped me with some last minute stuff... That's why I had to rely more heavily on the internet though... it's hard to prep by yourself...

Had to cut the workout short due to early meetings, but still managed to do get in a good workout with the supersets and tri-sets. These things kill my endurance, I am out of breath after every set!

I was feeling fat in the evening, so I hit the treadmill for some HIIT/LISS. 12% incline alternating 6mph and 3mph. I spent a lot more time at the 3mph, I was surpised how tough the 6mph was at 12% incline, it was really rough!

Legs are FRIED! I felt nauseous several times during the workout and after. It was not fun, but hopefully it'll help bring out some more definition in my quads!

I haven't done lunges in forever (really can't even remember if I ever have), so I'm sure I'll be feeling it over the next few days! I had to take the elevator at work!

My back/shoulder muscles are REALLY sore, don't know why. It feels like I am just knotted up all over, doesn't feel good at all. I ordered a Body Back Buddy last week on Amazon, so hopefully that'll get in soon, I have a lot of pressure I want to get rid of!

So far strength has not really been changing, and weight has been going down. I guess this is a good experiment to see how people can run cycles of SD and other PH/DS and get no gains. Granted I'm on a cutting diet and wasn't expecting gains, but IMO this just goes to show how important diet is for making GAINS even when on.
 
Yah I used to do that one... fuggin Hated it... I hate lunges period..:boggled:

I hated lunges too at first, but after a set or two they weren't as bad as I was expecting. Maybe that means I went too light... :boggled:

Thanks man, lots of good competition, so we're all winners. I like that it's getting me in condition to do a bodybuilding show, I'm getting excited now that it's getting real!

Now that sounds rough given our situation... my wife makes and nightly snack of my favorite cookies, they're always sitting there in the kitchen ... tempting me.. I can't even eat them during carb up as cookies contrain too much fat when you have that much insulin on the flow....:rant2:

You have no idea how much I can relate to that. I have a wife and a 4 yr old that loves their junk food. My wife likes to eat out and sometimes it makes it pretty difficult for me trying to eat clean. There is somewhat of a balance and understanding we have with each other. She makes the things I want her to most nights through the week, and I cheat and treat her to what she wants on the weekend.

Its been a little easier since I've been bulking for 6 months, but here in a few weeks ill start my cut which will be hard diet wise for me...and her ;)

Nice workout. I've done those BB bench to BB rows set up before, it gets exhausting. That whole push/pull deal is exhausting.

It has been tiring, but at least I'm not doing bench to deadlift!!!

I have been sweating a lot lately. I think the AndroLean has kicked it up a notch with the sweating!

Hope the androlean works out for you man. Great log so far

So far, I have increased sweating since starting AndroLean, so that's consistent with what the other loggers seem to be saying. I'm continuing to lean out, and I have no lethargy which is great for using all the anabolics that I am plus a thyroid hormone! All around, things are going well. We'll see for sure when it comes competition time!!!

Posing was ROUGH! I did an hour arms/shoulder workout, then went straight into posing for 1 hour (no breaks, just back to "relaxed" pose). I was dying at the end, felt nauseous as hell and had to chill in my car for 20 minutes before I could drive.

There were 3 other dudes, 2 were competing in the April event. One was really shredded already, and has competed 3 times before. He's in my weight class, so it'll be tough. The instructor told me to up my cardio to 60 minutes twice a day, 6 days a week on top of weights 5 days a week! Oh, and also posing practice 3 times a week!

I don't know if I'm going to have time to do all this, I'm already failing tonight since I haven't gotten on the treadmill yet!!!

Yeah, I kinda choked when she said 60 minutes twice a day. She said a lot of guys in contest prep do 12 hours cardio a week. I guess she just meant I have a lot to lose!!!

I'm about 5 weeks out, show is on April 23rd. I'm currently at 195lbs, down ~13lbs from earlier in the competition.

With the remaining time and gruelling cardio/weights/posing I may drop a bit more. Plus I saw some of my competition at my current weight and they were already shredded. I may shoot for ~185lbs weigh in, after dropping water.

Day 54: 1 hour fasted LISS AM, 1 hour LISS PM

Day 55: 30 minutes fasted running AM, targeting 1 hour LISS tonight, and maybe some posing practice.

I'm running out of my current bottle of Albuterol, so I may switch to ECA for a bit.

Actually, funny story about the Albuterol. This morning instead of measuring it out with an oral syringe, I just took a sip. Well, the sip ended up being a swig and I think I got between 12-18mg Albuterol in 1 dose (2-3 times a heavy dose)!!! My heart was really racing, and I was shaking. My heart rate is coming down and shakes are dissipating, but MAN was that a rough trip! I won't be doing that again!!!

Yah it's low intensity when it gets that high that's a given...

Yes, no way I could do 2 hours of anything high intensity a day, plus weights! I walk on my treadmill at 3mph on a 12% incline, sometimes I wear 5lb ankle weights. I just try to keep in my "fat burning zone" according to my HR.

I need to start waking up earlier to get my cardio in, but that squeezes my evenings too. This new routine isn't much fun for me or my family!
 
Yeah cardio blows. But i need to get a treadmill for home. Wheres a good place to get one? Was thinking of looking on craigslist for one on the cheap..

I looked there too, but the prices were too high for the quality (and age / wear / tear) of the treadmills, plus transportation of the treadmill assembled (don't have a truck), and no knowing how good they kept up on maintenance with no warranty.

I decided to buy a NordicTrac T8.0 at Sears for about $700, and that came with a warranty and was brand new. Assembling it was easy, about 2.5 hours tops. It has a 3.0 CHP motor and extra long deck which are both really good at that price. I really like it, works well for me from LISS to HIIT running. My wife likes it too, very convenient.

Check out Craigslist, hopefully there's something good for a low price. Kleen also has some good input on treadmills. I think OnlyChevy got one recently to avoid the coyotes in his neighborhood!

Everything costs too much in NoVA where I live, I much preferred living in Texas where prices were reasonable!
 
I finished the 1 hr LISS cardio tonight watching Pumping Iron. It was harder than usual, I think my caloric deficit is really kicking my butt! I did 30 minutes with weights, then took them off for the last 30 minutes. ~725 poorly estimated calories burned in this session (not including weights).

I was tired after this, so I treated myself to a protein shake with a banana, natty PB, and chocolate myofusion. I still mixed it with water, but it was deliscious. I still felt a little too carb depleted, so I ate some berries too. YUM!!!

I can't wait to eat food again!

Just read your latest entries thanks for the motivation.

Keep it up, less than 5 weeks left! I've been reading your log as well and it's great to keep it up even without a spotter. I never have a spotter so I know how tricky those last reps can be. It's kind of exciting to see if you can get that last rep all on your own (or bail to the safety hooks)!

There have to be some, but something I noticed was BBers were much more aesthetically appeasing back then. Nowadays the pros are just freaky from vascularity to size. I prefer the classic look tbh.

OUCH!!! My chest/back/shoulders were cramping up TERRIBLE after this. I guess I didn't drink enough for all the sweating I did. I was absolutely drenched when I was done with the supersets. The DLs with Inclines really did me in, what a way to kick it off.

I was going to do 1 hour of cardio, but the pain was too unbearable. It just felt awful, and nothing I could do would get rid of it. I hope I don't feel that again, it was miserable. I guess I'll have to drink more next time...

So, I guess I'll have to pick up the cardio tonight to make up for crapping the bed this morning. Oh, and I stopped at McDonalds and got an Egg McMuffin value meal (yes, hashbrown too). I was dying for something to eat to help my cramping, and that was available.

Rough, rough morning...
 
I don't know how you would seek out these sales, but I worked at a private performance facility and the owner simply wanted to remove a few pieces of equipment; a treadmill, two incline benches, a rowing machine and a cables set up and he wanted dirt cheap for them. The cables machine he was willing to give away as long as you had the means to pick it up and move it.

He himself bought out a bunch of equipment off some guy who was closing his gym, so I don't know how to search it, but I know first hand its out there.

Retails for $1,300 for the most basic version, so I'd say it's a good deal! I actually prefer walking on the treadmill for my cardio as opposed to running, so I'd think the treadclimber would actually be better for that. Some good quality LISS to target fat burning.

I had to be downtown early today, so I had to cut it short. I had little rest between sets, so at least it was good for some fat burning!

The CG Bench Press has been a real pain, literally, since my wrist is still messed up from a couple weeks ago. I haven't been able to go heavy on that at all, but my time under tention has been good. At this point I'm going more for definition and shaping the muscle as opposed to trying to get growth, so I think I'll be okay for now. Still, it subconsciously makes me sad (along with carb deprivity).

I did a lot of walking downtown to and from the metro, so I got in a couple miles, still not the AM cardio I wanted. Last night I could only do 45 minutes of (weighted) cardio before I got too tired. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to swing the full 60 minutes.
