KLEEN LIVING - A log about Life, Training, and Nutrition.

I see you’re still tearing it up in here ……nice workout. This should be a really good bulk or gain phase and I’m sure your body is primed to gain some more. As good a condition as your in you’ll be able to notice any extra muscle that you’re able to add.
For sure, I am feeling pretty big and look pretty big on camera. I was in one of the rooms setting up a Video conference and the camera started tracking me all of the sudden. I was kind of surprised how big and full I looked with so much definition and separation in my arms, and delts capping out through my shirt. My waistline is a bit thicker already but I have gone from 191.8 to 199.4 in the last 2-3 weeks. So that is to be expected. I am curious how far we will be able to rebound without adding in any other anabolics until after I do my physical here shortly. I think at 110-115mg a week that should have me around 800 test which should be perfect for recovering all of my lipids and whatnot. Once at a good spot to start cruising that will be the next step. However, there is no reason I can't make some good progress at around 800ng of test.

haha dude that's awesome. I caught myself on our Arlo the other day talking to the amazon guy in a tank top and I was like hey I actually look like I lift a little 😅

My triceps is bitching a little, I almost wonder if I had the tiniest of tears in my triceps I haven't seen any bruising but that damn sting was serious, and now the area is a little softer and almost aches in certain positions. Going to feel it out and will decide Friday if I am going to push it with another triceps session or just let it ride. Maybe just get some blood in there and let it recover. It aches a little when my arms is bent all the way stretching it, and also extended all the way but not really flexing it, just that end ROM. Either way, I am keeping an eye on it. I have been doing a little SMR on it which seems to be helping a bit.

reading a post like that makes me realize how much value a simple reaction emoji had in a group of guys. It's like giving the headnod, acknowledging the work without unnessary words. hopefully that tricep is just a little stiff and works itself out fast for you. you didn't bash it on anything did you? like a blunt impact ouchie?

I was 198 on the dot this morning, steadily regaining weight around 2lbs a week since we started increasing calories. Legs are filling back out a lot and I am still reasonably tight for the rate of weight gain the last 3 weeks.

Here are some pics fasted at 198lbs

Holding onto some really solid cuts; great job keeping things under control on the rebound.
Thanks!
Dang man! Looking really peeled still and just huge! Great work!
Gracias Sir!

No, I am pretty happy with it thus far.
Oh I’m glad I found your log! Slowly catching up, excited for the next few months!
Welcome, glad you found it too!

Facts! On a reverse cut and lookin chiseled in the twin peaks.
Gracias!

Well Gentlemen, not looking as clean this week. Up about 7lbs from last week. Not stressing over it, I just spilled over a little after a huge free meal last night, added to a week of estimating caloric intake based on Doordashed foods. I didn't have time to pack everything I needed, and could not find a hotel close to the office with a microwave. That is the problem with being in a downtown metropolitan area. Only luxury hotels around the offices. With the amount of time I had available to eat I was having 1 sometimes 2 protein shakes a day with a bagel and about 1.5-2 tablespoon of almond butter on it. Not much, so after I would train I would order something on doordash trying to get the most protein and carbs I could while keep fats lower. I have no idea if I was in a deficit or a surplus most of the week. I was just doing my best to walk the tight rope. However since we are focusing on gaining, I definitely leaned toward getting in more calories than less. Last night we had a big ass free meal with all the yumminess and desserts added in. I figured this check in was already blown with the fract there was no consistency of diet, and or macros during the week there was nothing we could learn from how the plan was working since I was off plan all week. I definitely enjoyed myself but I am holding some water, and probably a little fat. Not stressed over this at all. I know my body and how it is going to treat this. I will be looking decently sharp again in a matter of days back on the plan.

In an effort to have some accountability here are some of the pics from today at 204.6. Not too bad, a bit spilled over as one would expect. However this needs to be cleaned up ASAP as I need to stay as lean as possible while rebounding.

Alright, about to go get yesterday's session in so I can be caught back up. Hitting some hamstrings and back. Should be a fun session and pump should be off the charts with all the carbs and water I am holding.

Yeah I don't want to say anything out of line but this "spilled over" version of you looks pretty damn shredded and I feel like you can see the extra fullness. Definitely look more than beach ready, lol. I like your idea of keeping accountability at the extra calories here to keep yourself in check. we all know how easy it is to let things go too far one direction or the other, but damn... still looking lean AF.

I know, totally agree….if I was at Kleen’s “spilled over”, I would still feel jacked….my spilled over and I no longer have abs.🥴
But that’s the difference in a weekend warrior and somebody competing at a high level.💪

Spilled over? Is that when my gut flips the elastic band over and leaves indentations on my skin? #24/7Spill
I’m am the Exxon Valdez of that

Amazing how lean you are staying. Takes some serious dedication.
Thanks!

Yeah the body dysmorphia is real when coming off of a show. Anything but shredded looks super soft.

Got unsubbed, all caught up now
Welcome back, looks like it took me longer to get back here than you. LOL
Every so often il get no alerts for like 2 weeks and i realize i was unsubbed somehow too. Weird
Yeah that has been happening a lot recently.
Been a little wonky recently. Hopefully it all buffs out
I am sure they will get it all squared away.

Alright everyone, sorry I haven't been on to update. Busy week for me. I have been a bit off with work at a breakneck pace, and so much going on at home. I kind of feel like I am spinning my wheels but keeping things together decently regardless. Training has been going pretty good but still dealing with the numbness and issues in my neck, shoulder and arm. I am still not sure exactly what is triggering this but honestly I just don't have the cash right now to go get it worked on. It is not overly painful, just uncomfortable a lot of the time because it causes a lot of tightness in my right trap. I wasn't able to do skull crushers yesterday because the bench was digging into my trap where that nerve runs through it. So I had to make a swap to cable push downs to finish off triceps yesterday.

Morning weight this morning was 206.1, so sticking in the same area 204-208 the last week or so. Looking pretty big, and full. I am pretty much at 6 weeks out from the contest so going to call to schedule my physical and bloodwork soon. See how things look, and decide where to go from there. Possibly start cruising for a little bit if everything looks good. Just depends on what coach has in mind.

As mentioned above, the body dysmorphia is real, I am still pretty lean but I look softer than a babies butt when I see myself. Hard to keep the mind in check regarding reality, and perception. I know it is common for people coming off of a competition diet to have a skewed perception of themselves as they fill back out from the competition. I have to keep in mind I am up 14-18lbs depending on the day, and cannot expect to still have paper thin skin, and ab veins.

Thanks!

Sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your neck…..not sure if your insurance covers Chiropractors, but a good neck and spine adjustment would probably help.

Yeah for sure, that is exactly what I think it is too. My insurance does cover them but with a $50 copay, and I am still paying for the work on the jeep. So unfortunately no extra cash at the moment. It is not at a point that I can't train or anything. Just gets uncomfortable at times. Stuff goes numb and I have to move my neck around a bit and stretch the trap out and it goes away. I have to play with head position quite a bit on pulling, or horizontal pressing movements. Really anything I have to really engage my traps / upper back to lock down a movement, or support a hanging weight like a row or Deadlift type of movement.

Maybe throwing in a yoga session? Sounds weird, but depending on what's going on, could that help ?
Possibly, but again, we get into monetary issues there. None of my gyms offer free yoga classes and I am not in a spot to pay for them. Yoga is definitely something I have thought about.

I was thinking maybe try to find some free yoga classes (youtube or something?). Originally I was thinking grab a lacross ball and dig in against a wall, but if its not necessarily a knot, and is more of a pinched nerve thing then maybe some yoga/mobility/banded work could help. IDK, just sorta throwing darts at the board here.

IDK if Kelly Starret still throws any of his videos up for free or not but back in the day the Supple Leopard approach really had some good tidbits in there. some of it was a bit tedious to learn, 25 new movements to stretch a bicep or something, but in the end would usually leave me feeling pretty good and almost sweaty.

Definitely great thoughts. I haven't looked at anything from Kelly in years but I have a PDF copy of his book somewhere and he used to have millions of videos on YT for free. I might have to check that out, also look to see if there are any nerve flossing techniques for the neck.

The look precontest DHT derivatives & tren are going to allow, that hard density, is not a sustainable thing. It’s a trick to be used to peak/competition, but it’s not real life! Be proud of where you are; you can be excited to keep working while remaining grounded.

Any tingling into the fingers? My right trap used to go into spasm and pinky through middle finger would go numb. C5 and C6 were my issue. Chiro was the ticket. Now, when it acts up, I do a rev hyper off the arm of the loveseat. I start at lumbar and work my way to trap area. Makes some interesting sounds. It has worked somewhat.

You really are looking great and keeping lean! I imagine the body dysmorphia is crazy after a show though!

I was going to suggest yoga on YouTube as well. There’s a ton of free videos- just something to open up the chest and relax the upper back/trap muscles some. Even some restorative yoga would be good. It’s less strength focus and more breathing/ stretching. Doing that before some nerve flossing would be beneficial for sure!

Agreed, it is not normal, or even healthy to be that lean all the time. My weight gain has been very controlled and deliberate. I would definitely call the reversal process a success at this point, I am up about 12-16lbs depending on the day, in only 6 weeks and am still pretty lean. I am curious what coach will want to do. I think we could probably hang here until the gains slow up, but he may want to push things along which I will be fine with up to a certain point.
I do know we are getting close to my hey lets tighten things up a little realm. I see no reason to let myself get too big during off season. We gained a lot of unnecessary weight last year, and I don't want to repeat that. A top weight of 212-215 @ 12% should have me on point to land right where I want to in the Light Heavy line up weighing in around 193-195. Of course that is likely a cycle or couple months on a cruise dose away. I would put my current body fat right in that range where I don't wan't to add a whole lot more.

Yes, tingling into fingers but normally the inside of the wrist, and my thumb through my ring finger. Sometimes the whole hand. Plus I still get that sting in my triceps occasionally. That bad boy bites, but luckily it is just a quick BZZZZT of pain, and not sticking around like it was before. It also flares up a couple trigger points in my right trap, and right side of my back where most of the rotator cuff is along with rhomboids, and teres major / minor.

Yeah, I have never really thought of yoga as something I could do from a video it seems to be a hands on teaching kind of thing to me, but I am sure I could figure something out to do it well enough to help.

I may buy another Tens unit and have my wife put it on me on occasion too since they are cheap.

Speaking of money, things just got a lot tighter in the house. Our AC gave up and we had to have it replaced, so another good sized loan added to the already stretched budget. Not what I needed right now... This affects my competition goals for the year. I am simply not going to be in the financial situation to pay for a large trip to Nationals in another city. We do have a huge show here in the Houston Area in December of next year I could try to compete at for a procard but my coach said it is one crazy competitive show. However, it will likely be the only way I can even consider doing a national show this coming year. Even with that I won't be able to have my coach there with me as I can't afford to pay for his room and board unless we have some very positive things happen between now and then regarding my financial situation. I am not giving up here, just having to reassess and create a new path to success based on the dwindling resources at the moment.

Excellent to see your BP at that level w/out any meds. Fasted glucose ain’t too shabby either. I need 1000mg of berberine to see that.

December of next year is over a year away. I don’t necessarily think you need him there to compete - he should absolutely be available remotely to check your condition over the 24 hours via video call no matter what if you are paying him for prep, especially if he wants you to do well. And more relevant to my comment, a lot can happen in a year, for better or worse, so I wouldn’t let that concern worry me for now.

Focus on your bodybuilding for now, and let the competition concerns work themselves out in time. Like you said, you will find a way to do your best, one way or another 😄

Man hate to hear about your A/C going out, that really sucks with your financial situation so tough. Like Hyde said, with the National show in Houston over a year away, hopefully some things will loosen up financially for you to make things easier. Good to see your blood pressure and glucose doing good, and even with the weight gain you’re still looking pretty tight. I believe 215 at 12% is very doable with how your body seems to be responding.

Yeah, I think the additional blood volume from all of the food initially along with my body dealing with the stress of quickly dropping androgen levels it just triggered my BP for some reason. Now I am at the levels I was expecting to see shortly after. Of course I had never been on the back end of an enhanced prep.
Getting so lean will definitely improve your insulin sensitivity
That it does!

Oh yeah, a lot of things could happen between now and then. He could definitely do it remotely. No reason he shouldn't be able too. I also realize my coaching could possibly take off enough to make that possible.

In all honesty, even with it being the possibly more competitive show I think I would rather do the one in December so my family and or interested friends can come see me compete. Plus that really drops the amount of money I need when you consider no flights, or really even a need to have a hotel, at least for more than one night anyway.

Like you said, just focus on the bodybuilding now, because well I enjoy it and lose nothing by building more muscle and staying in shape even if I was completely unable to compete for some reason.

Yeah, it took a big bite out of me that day. My post was a bit of a knee jerk reaction to thinking we were getting a new AC from the warranty to suddenly having to secure financing before they finished the work they were doing or put it on a card... Sage is graduating in December and will be able to pay her own way which will really help a lot since her insurance is so high. So things will likely improve quite a bit. Just hard to think logically in the middle of an emotional reaction. I know we will be fine and figure it out. We always do.

Yeah, I am really happy with the BP dropping and BG staying stable in the low 80's. I may even try dropping my Telmisartan to 40 to see where that puts me if it keeps dropping. Give me more of a place to bump to when on cycle.

I am relaxing and enjoying a rest day today. I actually intend to just rest and take it as easy as possible today. Maybe just sit down with the wife and binge watch something.

Funny how life seems to go, when financially it’s like man things are tight just the way it is. Then bam never fails something comes up that costs money, like clockwork. Seems like we always make it work though. I’m the same way my initial reaction is always like WTF 🤬.

Looks like training is going well and still looking fantastic man. Even with work being hectic.

Sounds like a great day to spend with wife/family and rest and just relax today!!

Something to remember when you cut the Telmisartan down is to also lower your sodium intake, and possibly increase potassium slightly (although staying on 40mg, Telmisartan does cause very significant potassium retention so don’t go wild with that; it’s the one thing you’ve got to watch on Telmisartan).

But you would not need to salt things nearly as much to keep the same hydration/fullness.

So true, it seems inevitable.

Yesterday was exactly the day I needed. I could have got some things done but in all honesty, it felt really good to intentionally do nothing at all.

That makes a lot of sense. Good looking out!

Hoping for some renewed vigor and motivation. I have been getting my sessions in and been getting good sessions but in all honesty haven't had a lot of desire to go to the gym recently. Twice this last week my wife asked me if I was going to the gym because it was getting late, and I was like well I honestly don't want too. I just don't feel like it. I did it anyway and got in good work, but not sure why the desire is not there right now. I am sure it is just life pressing in on me, but the last week or two has been me doing it because it needs done and not me going in excited about lifting. They all can't be awesome right.

dude it's already cold as hell up here in Tacoma area. back to hoodies, coats, and warming up the car. If I could put a little cold air in the envelope and ship it down to you I would, it's hard for me to even imagine needing an a.c. while I'm stocking up on firewood 😅

When it rains it pours doesn't it? I wish you were able to grab a couple more sponsors to help out with some of the finance side of it!

haha your legs are absolutely shredded lol. looking good!!

We had a couple cool mornings around 73 but they end up in the low to mid 90's still. Some days we see 80's but that is a cold front. So unfortunately it had to be done ASAP. While that was going down our fridge broke and we had to drop $600 on it too... For some reason the home warranty told my wife they were not paying for the repairs... So, I told her to cancel both of the warranties now that everything was basically new and anything else could be replaced for what we are paying the warranty companies a month.

Thank you Sir!

I could take a crap in a box and throw a guarantee on it and you got a guaranteed POS! Sucks they don’t make em like they used to

man 80-85 in vegas last week was so perfect. it was cool and dry enough for a hoodie, but also comfortable for an evening walk in a tshirt. this morning, 50F here at hom in the Tacoma area is already starting to chill to my bones.

this is a weirdly important thing to me. towards the end of my gear cream run (maybe I was easily irritated?) my step daughter and her boyfriend who had stayed with us for 2 weeks (now pushing 4 months) had all their hippy soy $hit in my fridge and I told my wife that the straw that broke the back for me was my brand new expensive fridge that I bought (ding and dent though, I am a value shopper after all) was filled with a bunch of crap and I didn't know which food I was "allowed" to eat in my own fridge! 😅 😅

Yeah here in Georgia we were in the 80s this past weekend, and by Wednesday morning it’s supposed to get down to 38.
Here you can almost experience all four seasons within a two week period.😎

Man talk about when it rains it pours…..they definitely don’t make appliances like they used to. We’ve bought a new fridge and washer within the last year, both were under 10 years old. Yeah the prices keep going up and longevity keeps going down.

This! it shocks me that our TV is over 10 years old! (knock on wood)
