just ordered horse supplement!

Active member
valley vet supply, Su Per muscle builder, 40 servings of gamma oryzanol 3,000mg per serving, here is the label

Description:
A feed supplement of Gamma Oryzanol* and amino acids for use in the daily feed ration of horses in powder form.

Ingredients:
Water, Gamma Oryzanol, BCAA Complex, Amino Acid complex, natural flavoring.

Guaranteed Analysis:

Ingredient
Min. per serving

Gamma Oryzanol
3,000 mg

BCAA Complex (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine)
2,500 mg

Amino Acid Complex (Arginine, Glycine, Proline)
565 mg

seems i can run this at 1/2 dose and it will last 80 days, and this will yield 15oomg gamma oryzanol per day. In contrast the "Gamma O" brand will yield 2000mg per day of active. My total out the door price with S&H was 47 bucks, at this price i might play with the dose and alternate eod with a full dose and 1/2 dose which would still give me 2 months on. can't wait for it to arrive!

Has Gamma O even been shown to do anything? I have heard negative things about it....

log it, i will follow

this will, for me, fully answer the question of gamma oryzanol and ergogenesis. I probably will log it cause i will be recieving it hopefully just as my current log is finishing up. Since it's a long term, cumulative supplement, I will probably stick with once per week updates. EZ

E, man, You are always finding some unique stuff to try and log. I will definately follow it! I think I am about to order some goji to give it ago! Maybe add in some swanson mucuna!

The effects of gamma-oryzanol supplementation during resistance exercise training.
Fry AC, Bonner E, Lewis DL, Johnson RL, Stone MH, Kraemer WJ.

Exercise and Sport Science Laboratories, University of Memphis, TN 38152, USA.
Abstract
To determine the effectiveness of gamma-oryzanol supplementation, weight-trained males were randomly divided into supplemented (G-O) and control placebo (Con) groups. The G-O group ingested 500 mg.day-1 of gamma-oryzanol according to manufacturer's instructions. Test batteries were administered before (T1), after 4 weeks (T2), and after 9 weeks (T3) of a periodized resistance exercise program. Both groups demonstrated significant increases in 1 repetition maximum muscular strength (bench press and squat) and vertical jump power, with no differences between the groups. No differences between groups were observed for measures of circulating concentrations of hormones (testosterone, cortisol, estradiol, growth hormone, insulin, beta-endorphin), minerals (calcium, magnesium), binding protein (albumin), or blood lipids (total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL-cholesterol). Resting cardiovascular variables decreased similarly for both groups. These data suggest that 9 weeks of 500 mg.day-1 of gamma-oryzanol supplementation does not influence performance or related physiological parameters in moderately weight-trained males.

Gamma oryzanol-plant sterol supplementation: metabolic, endocrine, and physiologic effects.
Wheeler KB, Garleb KA.

Medical Department, Ross Laboratories, Columbus, OH 43216.
Abstract
The use of gamma-oryzanol and phytosterols is gaining popularity among various athletic populations. These compounds are being consumed in the belief that they elicit anabolic effects ranging from increased testosterone production and release to stimulating human growth hormone release. However, published scientific studies suggest that these compounds are poorly absorbed. Furthermore, animal studies indicate that when these compounds are injected subcutaneously or intravenously, they induce antianabolic or catabolic activity. Normally, less than 5% of orally consumed phytosterols are absorbed from the intestinal tract, with the majority being excreted in the feces. Intravenous or subcutaneous injections of gamma-oryzanol in rats have been shown to suppress luteinizing hormone release, reduce growth hormone synthesis and release, and increase release of the catecholamines, dopamine and norepinephrine, in the brain. Although it hasn't been directly measured, this metabolic milieu, if accurate, may actually reduce testosterone production.

I dont know wth this stuff is- but I worked on a thoroughbred farm for a while in NY

Those animals are extremly powerful- so this supp will either be a great success or an epic fail

IN

i know what those studies say, and i know the dosages they used, if nothing else i bought an expensive amino acid formula, i have read enough positive anectodals using much higher doses for longer periods of time than what was covered in the studies. Time will tell.

thats what i was thinking as well.

good aminos at worst.

I thought Gamma O was a vitamin E blend. Sounds bad for the human kidney to me, if your taking it by the gram.

some gamma blends have vit e if they have regular rice bran oil mixed in, this one does not, and the gamma o itself is primarily sterols and ferulic acid,

seems there is a dispute out there as to which delivery method is best. Equiade and Gamma O promotional materials champion the liquid emulsion claiming superior absorption due to greater surface area of the gamma O constituent, whereas some seemingly more scientific treatments of the topic state that powdered forms have greater stability of the gamma o and are better than liquid for that reason, subsequently stating that the finer milled the powder is the greater the absorption.

hopefully mine is fine, I do plan to mix it in my shakes and may first blend it on "liquify" mixed in water and EVOO, additionally I think I will get some bioperine and some digestive enzymes, both in an attempt to maximize absorption,

along these same lines i believe small frequent feedings will maximize absorption, which is ideal since i make a gallons worth of "shake" and consume it over the course of a day

GO Absorbs better with Sesamin or Fish Oils?

Holy haysus! Gamma o? It's, like, 1988 all up in here! Get you some smilax and octacosanol, and a tub of Russian Bear 5000, and rock those hammer pants!

I would be thinking of other um, equine 'supplements', if I was perusing the equine supplement catalogue.

But hey, I'll follow.

You try the muira from them? I've tried nutra bulk muira, and got nothing. I believe it's effective, just. Gotta get the right brand/extract.

Gamma Oryzanol has Ferulic Acid?

Ferulic acid (FA) is a substance found in the seeds and leaves of most plants, especially in the brans of grasses such as wheat, rice, and oats. Its chemical structure strongly resembles that of curcumin, the substance responsible for the yellow color of the spice turmeric. 1, 2, 3

What does the Gammo O come in? An oil or a powder? It's most effective as an oil.

There's only one company in the US that products Gamma O, it's Invalid Link Removed These guys are the only supplier of gammo O derived from rice bran.

My ex-Gf's dad used to drink Calf Starter and take Pre-natal vitamins due to the fact that he claims Supplements dont work. He also has some horse steroid crap which he dillutes in some herbal insence crap. Guy is smart lol...

It ain't new. Gamma o and ferulic acid were big in the early 90's, before creatine and hmb hit.

according to the info i have seen on this stuff it is a rice bran base powder, however the same product comes in a liquid too it's just less servings 32 compared to 40 for the same price.

and what did you think about Gamma?

Haha, I was 14-15 back then, I'm not sure would've noticed a difference, and I'm pretty sure it was all underdosed stuff. Funny, though, I worked at a gym in high school, and had some pretty good guys, as well as my dad (who looked like a greek god when I was a kid), showing me what to do. I was on the 5x5 kind of early, not bad. I didn't put the diet compnent together properly until I was 19, though.

exciting news! I arrived to my room today to find a package containing i tub of SuPer muscle builder. Look for the weekly update log soon as well as introductory post in review section.

exciting news! I arrived to my room today to find a package containing i tub of SuPer muscle builder. Look for the weekly update log soon as well as introductory post in review section.

I never saw your log, how did it go?
Want to know if you up'd the dosage to the horse dosage and how it went?

I just ordered "SU-PER Leanabolic" at a total cost of $42.94 including shipping.
I goggled everyone of the supplements ingredients.
Each and everyone is sold by supplement stores for people and targeted towards bodybuilders as well as including the general public.

Read this description, it sounds like the kind of performance supplements I'm always looking for:

Powder with a rice hull base and apple flavoring.

LEANABOLIC will build lean muscle mass, increase performance and endurance.
An advanced formulation supplement which will aid in recuperating from exercise more effectively.
A new advanced supplement formulated to build lean muscle mass, increase endurance and performance, and decrease overall body fat.

Gamma Oryzanol, Kre-Alkalyn (Creatine), and the precursors to
HMB
!
(HMB, a metabolite of an amino acid, has been shown in scientific research studies to improve muscle metabolism. HMB show increased oxygen carrying capacity in the blood, decreased muscle breakdown, & improved overall muscle function).
Studies have shown that Creatine supplementation increases power output and total work output and increases sprint performance.

Sounds pretty good right!!!!! What is HMB? Link --> Invalid Link Removed

Yes 1,000 lb individual, that’s because it’s horse supplements.
Now my parents had horses at one time, and people take better care of horses than they do themselves.

I was thinking of buying this and taking a 1/4 dosage daily. (I weigh less than 1/4 of 1,000 lbs.)
This is sold for $42.94 including shipping for 4lbs and is a 64 day supply when taken one ounce a day.

If I took 1/4 ounce a day that would be a 256 day supply for just $42.94 including shipping.

I know some may think I’m crazy.
But it sounds very plausible to me.

Looks like a few minerals and then the amino acids are way underdosed. Post up the ingredients and Ill tell you if the minerals are even in absorbable forms. To me this looks highly inferior to a multivitamin. It might do a little something if you take way more than an ounce, but I can pretty much gaurantee that a 1/4 ounce wont be noticable, if it even makes it past your stomach acid.

This looks like a product that scams off the idea that horse owners arn't really studying nutrition.
