Happy Father’s Day

Yeah, that was probably the right move on the trap bar DL's. Less adductor, easier on lower back, and a lot less volume overall. Of course you always seem to make great audible calls. I have learned a lot from watching how you swap things out and reading your reasoning. I love tapping into all of that info you have access to with all of the high level people you and your wife make it your business to train with and learn from. Just reading how you manage a lot of things in your training helps me to conceptualize the process better even though you and I are on different training paths. Anyway, just wanted to let you know how much seeing you do the right thing while maintaining a life balance and good family priorities has had a positive affect on me. You are indeed a good influence which is an awesome find in today's landscape.6/18/23

You might be tempted to think a max effort day with a couple reps over 600 was hard training, but contextually this represented a significant deload from the barebones 5x5 floor pulls & 6x10 deficit straightlegs the last 3 weeks have been. Just wanted a break, and honestly this was some good neurological, tendon, and mental conditioning. Adductor felt fine this session.

Watching you still powerlifting makes me want to powerlifting, but then I remember that I’m old and crippled and decide against it.

Agreed!!!Lol just depends on what you really want to do. You have to want it. You cannot possibly justify the time, energy, pain, and attention you will invest unless it’s simply an arbitrary priority, for love of the game.
I know there will be a time when competition is behind me, either from too much injury or simply a lack of passion to go on, but that’s how it is for everyone. My hope is I can do it as long as I still desire, and that I can lift in some capacity beyond that until I die!

2 days later, still feeling good? no significant doms etc? even without the volume... 630 is quite heavy lol.You might be tempted to think a max effort day with a couple reps over 600 was hard training, but contextually this represented a significant deload from the barebones 5x5 floor pulls & 6x10 deficit straightlegs the last 3 weeks have been. man your top rep for SS is STILL climbing basically linearly.
The slingshot work is easier than the raw; I actually raised my top slingshot single 10lbs this week instead of 5 like everything else to make it a bit harder. I have been using it more as the future method than a real builder. Just letting my body partially handle the weights to come.
And the value of a slight pause, or at a minimum changing direction under control.I am really loving that it lets the body practice much heavier weight without destroying you. the last SS session I had I bobbled 320 or 325 from the bottom and it made it clear to me how important it is to maintain 100% focus through that entire lift on these heavier weights.
So is training while getting fatter, in the summer humidity, as it turns out.

Funny, but not. Sometimes you just have to do what ever it takes!
those are the types of stats I need to test out, I'm super curious about actual results from fasting vs just what the studies tell me what is happening + the scale. thanks for posting this, great reminder. Also, fasted glucose yesterday morning was back down to 96, and BP was 128/77 and pulse of 64 after my coffee, so dropping the MK677 leveled things back out.
Do you already have a good baseline from before starting fasting?those are the types of stats I need to test out, I'm super curious about actual results from fasting vs just what the studies tell me what is happening + the scale. thanks for posting this, great reminder.

I've been checking bp/heart rate periodically but not glucose. all three of those metrics are super interesting to me.Do you already have a good baseline from before starting fasting?
Nice numbers! The only thing MK ever did for me was make me hold water !!

Really happy with last night: 2 weeks after that adductor pop, going over 3 plates in my comp stance with pause work as well as close-stance hi bar with no discomfort, and a 9-plate legpress without issue either. I can work with this!
Also, I’ve gained ~15lbs in the last 5 weeks![]()
15lbs Water, Muscle or Fat ??? Or all 3 ?
Glad the adductor is good…..all that squat volume (you always have good high total weight volume on your compound lifts, bench, squat, deadlift6/28/23

Jeebus Man! Your delts are always shockingly impressive. I have those damn sloped looking shoulders, not really much of any type of rise to them. Yours look like two large cantaloupes sitting where normal shoulders should be. Impresses me every time i see a picture of you. They have definitely come back up a lot since you got your elbow fixed.
Looking solid and massive man!! Impressive for sure.Probably mainly fat & muscle; I’m definitely not holding excess water (besides when I was on Mk677 for a week).
246lbs today:
