Friendly Over Head DB Triceps Ext. Challenge...

Going to try the EZ bar method today and will probably need some time to get in the groove with these.

TG we got you in the cross hairs!!
 
Got some good stuff in here already. 85x5 in rehab not to bad there Big. Easy, welcome to the fray brother.
 
Ok guys...not great but I need to get the feel for these. These were seated EZ bar variety: 110x13. I think I have more I just don't feel comfortable with the exercise yet.

I have 1 more week until I hit up the challenge. I'm gonna wrap my wrists and elbows.
And I won't be holding ANYTHING back!!
I'll treat this lift like a powerlifting meet.
I'll approach it with the same mindset as a 600 plus pound Deadlift. :aargh4:

ok I raised myself one rep on the 130 today!! 130x6 with perfect form... 2 sets. The DB's here go to 150, so goal fir the end of these 5 weeks is 150x5... man this is going to be fun. Nothing like what TG is about to kill us with, but for this Army Guy... I will be pleased!!! might get a bronze medal!! Full lift this morning is here

I got 95x6 today, stopped because form was slacking on #7, then did 80 a bunch. Also didn't want to go to hard because it was arms day o.O

Pretty good for a newb imo :D

I'll try for 100x5 or more next week :D I think this GVT routine is kicking ass with Natadrol...3 pounds in 4 days is good stuff..

I jumped the gun. Wasn't supposed to hit up this challenge til next week, but I was ready for battle this morning!! I was super-charged. The living lightening was running through my veins with unsurpassed power and energy!!

This is how it went down..........2-Hand Behind Head DB Extensions--150X11.

Then when I grabbed up a 100lb. DB after this for some light ones......I pumped out 20 reps with it!!! It felt like a 50lb. DB after wrestling with that big 150 pounder!! LOL


I stand here on this rock in Bilskirnir awaiting my challengers!!!

Man you guys are tearing it up! I am hoping to match last weeks efforts after my unplanned time off... damn work getting in the way! The goal will be 85x10 then I will bring it up to 95 and so on. TG, you are a BEAST!!!!!!!!!

Well today went alright, got 90x6 but that does not count in my eyes, form was not perfect. Oh well, should be back next week to kill it again and I will own that 90!

I wrapped my elbows. I believe I had a couple more reps in me. But I was satisfied with the first attempt at this challenge. I'll move up to a 160 lb. DB for the next round. :fing02:

Sounds like Army's stack is kicking in with all those exclamation points, lol! I know the feeling man, there are some freaks in here that are crazy strong. My only hope is my weight being almost 180 might help in the power to weight ratio.

You could sit the db on top of the bench and hold it up there with one hand? I do a step thing lmao, ground to thigh and thigh to shoulder and then fling it up there

I wont try 160....but 135 sounds good....either ill have to add to my 120lbs(put a 15lb dumbell ontop) dumbells or use a barbell and hit it close grip behind the head.

And I do that too. Mine is ground > thigh > upper chest > over head and start.
 
I think I will have to do it next time - tomorrow.

I do mine on the 90 degree bench seat. So you could put it on top of the bench seat, then hold it up there with one hand, come around the bench and sit down, then the DB is pretty much in the start position already, just have to lift it a little.

This could just be total fail too though o.O
 
Ahhh, now I see what ya mean. I might try that instead of my way. But I like my way because you really get a feel for the weight on the way up. If I know it's too much I can just bring it down. But if I do it that way and it's too much, I'm kinda screwed since it's already behind me :P

I got 85x10.

My goal was 12, but i policed up my form on my 11th rep and and just stoped working for me.

Oh well, room for improvement, i'm at 165 pounds.
 
they make Marines that small??? lol
going for 135 or even 140 tomorrow... death before dishonor my brothers!!!!

135x5 (stopped there but could have hit 8)
140x3 (was too taxed from the 135. Will go straight to the 140 Next time)
100x15 to burnout at the end
 
Well, I knocked out 13 @ 90lbs with the ez bar after doing presses + other triceps exercises today. I think friday when I do shoulders/calves/abs i'll do these first and see what I can hit.
 
i did triceps last friday and was feeling great, i ended up getting 110 x 8. i was pleasantly surprised by myself!!! i can usually only get 90 - 95lbs about 7 times. im guessing this h-drol is kicking in!
 
Well I'm able to report that i got 150x6....It would have gone alot better if i hadn't gone for max bench the day before. TG and ex-tightend, your still the gold medal standard but i'll be catching you soon enough!!!!

lol don't get me wrong big P... I was going to use the bronze to incapacitate both TG and EX... get them looking at the shinny pretty thing while I put them in the forced arm hucklebuck!!! lol
