Everything MLB 2012, Come On In!!!

The Rays definitely need to straighten out their pitching rotation and the bullpen. I think it will come together, though. I wish they were in a bigger market, so they could hold onto established players instead of constantly being in a state of developing young guys. It is exciting to see all of these young guys come up and excel, though.

They do have a very good farm system and overall player development; I'll give them that for sure.

I can tell you right now what hurts it so bad: Their stadium is a piece of sh*t dome smack dab in the middle of the ghetto of St. Petersburg. If they would actually build them a decent stadium (they are tied into a lease though) and move them to a better location I think you would see much better ticket sales; and a bigger market team.

I'm glad I live so close by here though so I can go see the Red Sox when they come down here.

I live between Orlando and Tampa and it still takes me around two hours +/- to get to the stadium. I hear a lot of people whine about the stadium being in a bad location in terms of traveling to a destination. I would love to see the Rays come to the opposite side of Tampa. I think more people in Tampa and Orlando would be more likely to go to games. I love their ticket scheme, though. They have the cheapest average ticket price in professional sports.

I absolutely agree. They need to move it into tampa with good access from the highway. They would draw not only the tampa/st. pete crowd....but everywhere all the way to Orlando. It would be direct access from I4 which makes a lot of sense.

Much better location for sure; which is why they don't have any problem selling tickets for Lightning games.

Oh yeah....GO BRUINS! :D

Buckhholz didn't pitch that well in his first start, but there is absolutely no question that he's a better pitcher than Hellickson. Clay is dominant when he puts it together. There aren't many major league pitchers anymore that have 4 dominant pitches in their arsenal. Look at the guys stats before he was hurt in 2011...

The Rays' starting rotation is WAY over-hyped; I've been saying that all preseason.

I'm not saying that the Sox don't have their issues; because they have plenty in the bullpen right now; as well as the tail end of their rotation. Losing Ellsbury yesterday for the next 6 weeks is rough as well, but they can effectively fill the gap until his return. Not to mention Crawford hasn't even played yet.

The Sox will make the playoffs this year. I have no doubt.
Only time will tell how quickly and completely Buchholz can recover from that stress fracture in his back.Meanwhile, the Rangers roll on.

In the words of the infamous Flavor Flave....

Yeah Boyyyyyyy!!!!

See my Angels today?!

Bruins Caps double OT

What the hell are the tigers doing!

It looks like the Rays are still throwing BP for the Bo-Sox...

Oh man. That game started off promising. It seemed like every time I got up to do something, the Sox scored a couple more runs, lol. It's a long season and there's still plenty to be had.

I'm going to bounce before T1 shows up, lol. :run:

Happy to see my birds bounce back, today. Got our rings and got the W.

You cubbie fans enjoy that W. Wont see to many of those this year. I called up ol Bill DeWitt that day and said to throttle the boys back on the cubbies and let them shine for a day since it hasn't happened in 103+ years. I just thought it was the nice thing to do! :)

I am not on AM much on the weekends, way to much home work to do not to be outside. This week... ripping out a patio... without truck access to the back yard.. this **** is just down right fun! :)

Cards will struggle with a #3 this year?

I dont fully understand this. You mean the most offense in the MLB thus far doesnt speak volumes? With Berkman, freese, Beltran... I don't see a problem holding down a three hole.

I laughed when ESPN was boasting the Rays' starting pitching all preseason...

Yes it's early, but we're seeing they clearly have issues. Ok Rays' fans, I'll stop the hate. :D

But...

It goes my friend. I'm back all in after some time away from it all.

As for the walkers...rifle rounds do best. :D

It's good to see you my legendary, brother!

Someone say Pujols?

Not a good day for my Angels.

No alarm CC lol
I'll watch on fox when home from work .)

Can't compare to pujols

Considering he is tops for grounding into double plays and the committee is stepping up, the production is going to be higher than last year. Plus, considering the size of our market, Angels have the ability to eat the contract should he fizzle considering he is supposed to be 32 (Paid 25MM till 42).

Cards were never serious about signing him for those numbers, I can gaurantee that.

Can't compare to pujols

I loved the guy and always respected him, but the way he left (and just as much the way his wife reacted) caused me to lose that respect and made it easier to watch him leave. It's kind of like LeBron leaving Cleveland; I don't fault him for it, but the way he did it was terrible.

Albert's wife went on the radio and was talking about the Cardinals' offers to him being a slap in the face. Those number she's calling a slap in the face were the 190 million for 9 years or whatever their last offer was to him. Not a slap in the face; the Angels were just dumb enough to give him more money. Did Albert deserve a/the top contract? Sure. But it's the fault of organizations paying people like A-Rod 250 million for skewing the numbers and making people think they deserve more. On the contrary, others just deserve less.

Albert did a lot for the community and I respect that. I was really sad to see him leave, but I understood the move to the AL where he could be a DH. The difference in what StL offered him and what others did, though, just wouldn't be enough for me to leave a team that has a great fanbase and had already locked up 2 championships in the 10 years he'd been there. When you're talking a certain amount of millions of dollars, there's just a point where more doesn't mean much (I say that loosely). What St. Louis offered him was more than enough to live any type of lavish lifestyle and the fact that his wife called it disrespectful made me instantly lose respect for them. Is the baseball season long (162 games) and taxing on your body, emotions, relationships, etc.? Sure. But let's also not forget you're playing a game that you love (or at least you should). An equivalent job in terms of being strenuous could be traveling for construction. I worked one summer with a crew who traveled all over the midwest just depending on where the job was. They got put up in hotels, but they weren't 5-star. They got a meal voucher, but it wasn't steak and lobster. They received mileage for their trip, but they didn't take a private jet. They were away from their families for longer than average roadtrips. They worked 12-hour days on average for 60 hour work weeks. The guys at the top of the line made less than $100k (I'm talking one foreman) and most made around $40k or so. The league average for MLB is $414,000.

This is a long, drawn out post that isn't necessary, but I guess I just got on a roll and lose major respect points for people who complain about money. Do other people make more than they deserve? They sure do, but how about you go take that up with them instead of crying that you don't make enough (my anger for Dwayne Wade is still running hot, too).

Oh, and St. Louis leads the entire major leagues in batting average, is tied for the lead in homeruns and runs scored, and leads in several other offensive categories.

We're good.

Today's game was a bore-fest for this set. The only run was walked in...exciting...

Bobby V. needs to shut his mouth and manage the team. I don't like him; nor have I ever liked him. Most of Red Sox Nation would agree. The sooner he's gone the better...

It was great to see Pedroia stand up for Youk and it clearly shows signs that the clubhouse is starting to come around.

Verlander gets his first win today! I'm calling 5-1 Detroit!!!

I hated Bobby V when he coached the Rangers. The man is a clubhouse cancer. Can`t understand why people continue to hire this guy.By most counts he is the most hated man in MLB.

Lets go Tigers! Drawing blood early!
