Douchebags at the gym...

I'm pretty good at ignoring people. However, I will be pissed if I move on to equipment left all sweaty or with what appears to be excessive "hair product"... I don't care how ripped you are, clean after yourself!

I'm not real big and I do watch the big guys at my gym in hopes I learn a thing or two - obviously they're doing something better than me. Otherwise, I work out with my buddy and tune out everyone else.

Agreed. Always look before you lay your little head down, after you hear the squooshing of laying in someone elses sweat that workout is over.

I don't understand why people think they need to haul around a gigantic gym bag from one exercise to the next. What's in there kryptonite or some sh1t? Cuz there are gym lockers or just leave the bag in your car.

I carry a very small one. Like a shoe bag. If you know what I mean. It has my straps and ham brace for when my hammy acts up from my tear. And I often have tape or compression wrap if I am maxing on bench or something. My wrists are small. And seem to be gettif smaller haha. And anyways I put my cell and keys in it and sit it in a spot I use everytime that everyone who lifts uses. I don't like the locker room cause stuff like the creepy man drying HHS junk happens way too much.

Then again I dont carry my bag around just in. Grab what I need. And store it. It also helps me not forget stuff. Haha. I din see the need for a full size duffle though and that puzzles me.

Seriously can't stand people who are to lazy to re rack their weights. Happens at my gym so much I'm switching to a diff gym. I shouldn't have to hunt for a dumbbell.

Because some people have water bottles, phones if their on call, workout logs, mp3 players, towels, straps. Not really efficient to carry each item from place to place in a gym

Maybe their nuts r in there too somewhere

I train with some laaaaarrrrge dudes and they all carry gym bags...

Well that's not douchey.. It's the tools with all their gym "accessories" who spend more time getting dressed for the gym than actually working out . If you're big u can dso whatever u want, ya earned it

LOL! Reps brother!

Ps I do carry a belt, knee wraps, wrist wraps and straps in my bag :D

As I type I'm at the gym ready to squat and both squat cages are taken. One guy is doing squats so there's nothing really I can say, he got here first. The other has some a hole doing horrible form upright rows. Bad enough but he also has wrist wraps to lift his massive 100 pounds so he has to spend an extra minute perfectly wrapping around the barbell before doing his set. But that's not enough, he's super setting with calves while leaving all his **** in the cage making it that much longer before I can squat.

Help him out with his form tell him what he's doing wrong.

On a side note I just left vitamin shoppe and a guy asked if they had bananas

alright, im gonna chime in again. when i first posted in this section i was on the same page with everyone else, getting annoyed with the "idiots."

my perspective has changed.

all of us whether we are 5-10 years advanced or are just starting are all there for the same reason...to better ourselves. "evil will run rampent as long as the rightous stand idle." instead of looking down on the noob for his imperfect form, give him some advice and help him better understand the importance of good form and manageable weight, just remember, we were ALL in their shoes!

yea the guy doing some other workout in the squat rack may be a bit irritateing but hey, he was there first, he pays his fees just like you. if you are nice to the fella and/or are "buddies," maybe you could kindly ask him if he could do his rows or shrugs or curls in a different area. bc in reality, your not going to be able to do barbell squats in just any area safely.

honestly, i enjoy the newer/younger guys who ask for advice. just like the older guys did when i first stepped foot in a weight room.

NOW there are things that piss me off and its muther fockers useing equipement for coat hooks...or guys who dont put there **** away.

Personal favorite is this freshman at my school gym, loading the hack squat machine with 9 plates in each side and trying to hack squat... The funny thing was That he didnt even unrack the guard to do a full range of motion. He left the guard on the whole time... Of course i go up to him and tell him he isnt using the machine correctly, and his response was " i dont do full range of motion, i dont want to cut"... And he left all the plates on it so no one in any squat rack had any.

I told him he is ****in retarded and to do research before he steps into the gym again, havent seen him since.

Very well said!

I got through ten pages of this on my iphone before i finally skipped to the end. Good stuff. Did anyone mention the older guys who only do single arm curls with some high weight. Elbow on the the inside of their leg wit a crazy swing to get it up. i swear the angle of their arm does not change.

It's called concentration curls lmao

Apparently someone is hocking loogies on the floor and another guy threw a pad across the gym and shattered a mirror.

That's some scumbag **** right there. Membership should be pulled for both of them things.

I really like the guy/kid that hisses everything he does. Sounds like a steam engine and its completely stupid and annoying. Also, gotta love the quarter rep people....they stroooooong.

I particularly love the dude whose workout consists of a full circuit course on one of everything in the free-weight area. So he's going to do smith machine, squat rack curls, shoulder dumbell press and tricep cable pulldowns, maybe bench press (if there's time)....SO, at each "station" he will typically put something of his to lay claim to the area, so it'll be a shaker, zip up hoodie, towel, wrist straps and a bag. If anybody tries to use one of his circuit stations, he'll call over, "Hey, i'm on that bro".... not to mention his physique is like a sea bag with ears.

Yeah, that dude is awesome.

I understand circuit training. I understand high-intensity circuit training as well. But I don't understand circuit training that has very, very little volume and weight incorporated to each muscle group. Those guys don't realize that it isn't helping them grow at all. There isn't enough volume to break down the muscles. All they do by going to one station per muscle group is burning calories. And inefficiently at that! If burning calories is what you want to do, you'd be better off going to the treadmill, where calorie burning is most efficient!

Hey us little guys are trying to get swoll too! Lol

So what bro you sayin that because we're "little" that we fit into that category of guys that grunt on "light weight"!?!?!

JK.

I ended that kinda crap in the gym when they saw me pull 355lbs on straight-leg deads and squatted 345, lol. Little guys can lift big, too!

345 1RM?

Some jerk in the shower has his sweaty shorts hanging on over 2 towel pegs and then a tube of toothpaste laying across the remaining 2 leaving nowhere to hang towels.

I don't like when people click buttons on their calculators really loudly when I'm trying to concentrate on my final exam, is that similar?

Very true

Everyone says they hate when people curl in the squat rack and I agree. However, most gyms I've trained at do not have a straight bar for curls or a bb curl rack. So really where else are you supposed to do bb curls?

curl, who needs curls.

squat, deads, bench, pull ups and dips. wtf else is really needed for 99% of the lifters on this board.

Kristofer68SS said:
like i said. 99% of the guys on this board.

some of the best biceps i have seen were never dedicated and directly trained.

Do u dedicate training to different muscles of yours or do you do the pull up, dips and squat, deads, and chest exercises?

squats and deads man. tons and tons of them.

been bangin away for 6 years. i seen growth in my arms when my dead, squat, bench and bodyweight went up.

not when i was in the mirror doing skulls and curls like a teenager.

Yea I was a teenager when I weighed 180

i recommend doing the big 3 and keep the curls out of the squat rack AND im the douche?

really!

Just for the record I never recommended doing curls in the squat rack... I was referring to commercial gyms that do not have a curl rack. I have always expressed my hatred for people who curl in the squat rack. I am fortunate to train a real gym so I don't need to do bb curls in a squat rack.

I dead lift, squat and bench but those exercises don't force much growth on my arms. Like I said, congrats to the guys who don't need em.

I did strict power lifting for a few years and can't say that my arms grew any better during that time.

This argument is really matter of opinion and you are entitled to yours and I'm entitled to mine.

sounds good.

we do have plenty of areas to do curls outside of the squat rack, its just funny seeing the squat rack used for **** like that.

to each his own man.

yall too damn serious this sunday morning.

happy holidays fukers!!!!!!!!!!!:sly:
