Here's a question....if you're already in ketosis, what happens if you take this? Haha. I only ask because I don't plan on using keto sticks and what if I "accidentally" dose another one while being in ketosis already?
Nothing will happen to your state of ketosis the only macronutrient or anything that you ingest that has any effect on your level of ketosis are carbohydrates nothing else. Not even massive amounts of protein... if you keep hearing about gluconeogenesis just ignore it.

Actually, that is what I was thinking of. Gluconeogenesis doesn't knock you out of keto? Care to explain? (I am genuinely curious. I know nothing about keto)

Oh, that's fine then. I haven't really calculated whether it'll take 25 or 50 or 75g carbs to knock me out of ketosis. Thanks!
Ketostix are absolutely worthless only blood ketone testing which I do on a daily basis will tell you what's going on.

ketostix measure excess ketones and only measure one of two major ketones and thus are unreliable for measuring whether you are in ketosis or not. You cannot use them to titrate your carbs.

Dilution - drink more water, the ketostix level changes and if you drink enough it will read negative...false negative result

Excess ketones - only measure excess, if you're using them all you won't have any excess excreted. When you first start keto, your body overproduces ketones but with time and adaptation you produce just enough for your brain and thus no longer spill them into the urine, ketostix will be negative...false negative result;

eat 400 g carbs, immediately inhibits ketosis and you return to glucose-based metabolism and thus your body has no use for ketones in circulation and you excrete them, many then check ketostix and get a false security that they are in ketosis because they get a false positive result

Only measure acetoacetate - there are two major ketone bodies acetoacetate and beta hydroxybutyrate, ketostix only measure the former; the longer you're in ketosis the more of the latter you have in circulation so if you are spilling excess ketostix can't detect it and you get a false negative

They are intended for diabetic ketoacidosis, not nutritional ketosis and are a waste of time and money and only seem to cause confusion, frustration and false security because people don't know how they work and yet continue to use them in a way that they hope they work. Follow your macros and you're in ketosis. Focus on how you feel rather than a ketostix

Well, DieselNY said he uses these kinds of things to speed his transition back into ketosis, which makes sense. This product seems to be for people who want to go into ketosis quickly (or close to it, or whatever), do some fasted cardio in calorie deficit to burn fat, then go back to not being in ketosis. Using this over and over again seems like it can help with fat loss if you're in a caloric deficit. Anyways, I'm just waiting for the writeup.

I didn't get that at all from Diesel. I get the stuff is bogus and ketosticks showing the proof is a flawed method , in nice terms

It doesn't speed entry into ketosis. It's a false positive. It is used to ease the transition into a ketogenic state. It may help alleviate the fatigue and lethargy some experience while making the transition from a glucose to a ketone metabolism.

Is there a different between 'speed entry into ketosis' and 'ease the transition into a ketogenic state'

Yes ketosis is using Ketones/ fat as your fuel source the transition is how you feel you can feel a little f***** up a couple of days getting back into that state of being.

GLUCONEOGENESIS

Regarding excess
protein -> glucose

http://www.ketotic.org/2012/08/if-you-eat-excess-protein-does-it-turn.html

The body mostly turns protein into glucose based on need: http://caloriesproper.com/dietary-protein-does-not-negatively-impact-blood-glucose-control/

It is hard to eat enough excess protein to remove you from ketosis entirely, often it doesn't change anything:
http://caloriesproper.com/dietary-protein-does-not-negatively-impact-blood-glucose-control/

And of course, the genius, Peter, says the same, aminos CAN provide oxalaoacetate to reduce ketogenesis, but the question is, does this happen in the liver? http://high-fat-nutrition.blogspot.com/2015/02/ketosis-and-protein.html

I happily accept any other articles that state the contrary of what is being proposed here. However, the evidence and biochemistry stands to reason: it is quite difficult to over consume protein to the point of being out of ketosis.

http://youtu.be/4JE-wdA3PHw

http://examine.com/faq/how-much-protein-can-i-eat-in-one-sitting/

https://youtu.be/mjmV8BlsJTQ

http://bayesianbodybuilding.com/the-myth-of-1glb-optimal-protein-intake-for-bodybuilders/

Finally...The human evidence on reasonable variations in protein consumption disagree. The rate of GNG is relatively fixed and is NOT affected by supply!

There is not a single study in humans (and none in rats/frogs/pigs/et that I'm aware of) which indicate too much protein does anything but spike blood glucose moderately. The only study I've seen that tested both insulin and glucagon indicates that the I/G ratio is preserved, meaning the BG spike does not "kick you out of ketosis."

Hoping to get that write up done tonight. We're running a bit slow. The post surgery pain is 100X what I was led to expect. Gonna try and hit the warehouse for a bit tomorrow and get those AMMO orders out. I'll also grab an update for the KI delivery.

We're only using the BHB, so if the ketostix only pick up acetoacetate then that would indicate ketosis.

Give me a few me days to clear my head and I'll be able to give better answers.

Then what you're saying is that te sticks pick up the BHB instead of the acetoacetate.

Several of the tests were performed after first void, and before ingestion of carbs, and they still showed ketones.

Like I said, I can barely remember my name right now so just wait for the write up, and maybe apply for a log (since yore testing via blood anyway).

I only have enough for 4 testers, but you sound extremely qualified.

Yes even Patrick Arnold and other people involved in the creation of the original product mention this. They don't feel that fat loss is the number one benefit of this product there are amazing things you can do with it but I think a lot of people think it has something to do with fat loss which really is not the case. For instance I can eat a thousand grams of carbs and take some BHB and show ketones but you and I both know I'm not in ketosis.

Regardless, anything you make I'm buying but I just want people to know exactly what the use is for.

It's cool, we can disagree. I've spoke to PA about the design already.

Again, best to wait for the write up.

They are shipping the BHB out on Monday, which means a few days for blending and bottling. Hopefully out by Friday.

I know if someone if under about 20-30g of carbs within that day they still induce ketosis, would that little amount of carbs effect KetoInduce?

I consume a lot of protein and check to see if it has any negative impact on ketosis which it never does I also play around with different carbohydrate amount so I see what my tolerance is to maintain ketosis and also see how long it takes for me to get back into ketosis post carb up.

Timing is more important . Keep your carb intake early in the day or at least 2 hours before bed and you'll be great.

Also, can I get some flavor feedback. This is tough to flavor and it's good to me, but I'd like other opinions?

The numb spots were weird. Got about 3 totally dead spots.

Got an appointment at the VA tomorrow for PT and to gather info to update my disability.

Hopefully I'll be able to put more $ into te company and get this stuff restocked ASAP.
