Onlychevy6 with Needtobuildmuscle(rs-transaderm) gets his rub on

Well this morning holy cow is my lower back stiff. Had Cathie put some tiger balm on my lower back last night before bed. She made a comment it looked like I had some brusing in that area. Feels like I might had pinched a nerve or something. Today is an off day so when I get home I will try to walk on the treadmill. One thing ladies and gents stupidity sets you back when you least expect it. You might be able to do x amount of weight but your body may not be ready... Stupid skin chub.

Oh man that's not good at all!!

I actually have an injury as well.

Unknown to me I must has got hit by a sweep on my shin because it's swollen to the max. Looks like I got a tricep on my calf!! And no it's not sexy!
Iced it twice and now I'm on the ground elevating it to get the blood to cycle around.. Not good. But tomorrow is protein fast and then three days of eating and resting then hitting the weights hard again on Monday.

Anyway, rest up and let's get back to hitting hard and smart! :)

I dont miss those day with big ole knots on my shins. And yeah time to rest up for the day doing only cardio.

Heal up. From the vid it looks like you might still not understand the workout plan you did what 17 reps in one set instead of 5a sets of 5a with a minute rest. The others are drop sets with no rest. All that volume with heavy weight and nono rest is more likely what was killing your back.

Take the rest you need bro. It will do your body a lot of good, and make the workouts much more productive and better when you return ;)

I gotta give props out there to the guys who can deer hunt and another friend of mine who goes bear hunting and stuff because I just can't sit that still for that long, would drive me crazy... I mean I'm not against hunting, I'm damn well not against eating the hunted animals, but doing the actual hunting, too boring, well most hunting anyway... Dove I can do, squirrel & rabbit I can do, gator hunting I Love to do, but not in New Orleans anymore. I'm really the same way with fishing, but at least with fishing you are on a boat with a couple of guys drinking and having fun, but I still prefer to dive down and spear the suckers, way more exciting!

Here is a picture of my Brother and a Cousin from about a week ago, Nothing like bringing up a Catfish that is almost as big as you are...

I'm going deer hunting this weekend if I shoot one and there is anyone in socal let me know I will have plenty of meat to spread the love( high protein low fat) and my freezer won't hold it all

Where are you going to hunt? Cleveland national forest off ortega hwy? What type of bow do you shoot. I have a bowtech tribute. And all my rifles are remington 700 series.

It is hard to tell in the video. I actually did 5 then paused for a few then did 5 more paused so on and so one for a total of 5 sets of 5 reps. She only recorded like you said 12 or 13 reps. Then when I dropped the weight down I did them until I couldnt then dropped again and did them until failure. With no rest on the last two sets.

The only thing I have always had an issue with is this. When I am feeling good I always tend to lift heavy just because I know I can do it. And I would say after mondays squats and wednesday leg presses I over did it big time. As you all know when ego kicks in it is hard to say no. At least for me. If I can lift it safely then that is what I should be working out with. Totally the wrong way of thinking. And goes completely against what I tell Cathie to do. I have her push her limits every once and a while and the rest of the time go lighter in weight.

Oh and as for the transaderm yeah it has kicked in. My hunger is off the charts, I am able to control it though. I dont feel much from it in the extra strength dept by the time I hit the gym but during the day I feel like I am contracting my muscles multiple times while sitting at the desk and typing on the computer.

GL Man. Here in Ohio with all the wooded landscape and undergrowth, deer hunting is done with slug bore 12 guage shotguns. Either that or blakpowder/Bows. Rifles are a "no no". To many peeps in the woods,

Yeah I have used tiger balm for many years. However I would like to try skelly. Read alot of good things about it.
i am 53, and have arthritis-tried everything....i swear by skelly, and that's a fact!

You will have a blast. One word of advice be patient. Dont be afraid to let an animal walk. Unless it is just an absolute giant 10 points or more.

Yea I don't plan on seeing any 10 pointers in southern Cali. I will be happy with a 2x2

5 reps put the weight down rest 1 minute or however long it takes for cathy to do her set hten 5 reps, then put weight down, cathy goes , then you 5 reps then cathie goes.... Sometime the rest is longer but you hustle changing the weights. the last set is the one you do the drop set getting rid of some of the weight and going to failure with out rest. On the 5x5 portion there is a REAL rest period...

secondary exercises. Each exercise is 1 work set of 4-6 reps, immediately drop the weight 30% then do as many as you can. Go to next exercise as quickly as possible EI no rest between the exercises other than the time it takes to change them. so would look like Curls 100lbs x 6 reps > 70x however many you can squeeze out in one set.

Ok that is almost the way I am doing it. Only exception is I do all my sets, then she will do hers. Or vice versa. However I have not been resting a minute maybe 30 second or so.

REST...The body cannot perform at the level you are wanting while giving you the results you desire unless it is able to rest and recover.

Don't stress. You'll bounce back from your pain and be back at it no problem.

How many times did I use back in that sentence? LOL

Well unless you edited that video you are resting about 5 seconds while holding the weight so not really resting more of a rest pause. It is a way to really burn some calories and what not but not the best way to lift heavy weight. Even in DC training a rest pause you rack the weight breathe really heavy for 10-15 seconds then hit it again. I don't think you have lost strength since your cycle of Epi V just now you are whipping your own ass.

Yeah after looking at the video your right at max maybe 5 seconds.hmmm time for some adjustments huh.

So I took yesterday off from working out. And can I just say I felt guilty as sin. Mainly because I know there is something that could have been done. So instead we left for our deer lease since it is opening day for now hunting for whitetail. I only got 3 hours of sleep. My back was tight as hell. I grabbed my now and climbed up in my 10 foot bow blind and was, like this is pretty dumb I am in pain. Then a group of young bucks walked out and misteriously the pain went away until I was getting down. Lol

Make a deal with ya Jeff, you shoot yourself a 150+Lb dear and drag/carry that sucker out of the woods 1+ miles and we'll call that your workout, none of that modern-day 4-wheeling bull****, I'm talking old school Baby (fireman carry style)!!!

That is a deal. Mainly because I dont own a 4 wheeler. We walk our 200 acre lease to everything. Thats how we roll baby. You should have seen me last season trying to bring the almost 400lb sow to camp. Had to eventually get my truck as far a I could and Cathe tried to help me lift that big beatch into the bed. Had to basically dead, lift it to get it in.

sounds like alot of "dead" weight ? muhahaha

Every bodybuilder should hunt, just think of the money we'd save on good quality meat...

LMAO. That is a good one.

Yes you are so correct on this. If I harvest two deer I have enough meat for a few months and that is eating it every night. We almost never have regular steak or hamburger meat. It is either venison, chicken or fish.

Man you get that GPP done right !

It is for sure a workout. Carrying either a bow and a backpack or a rifle and a back pack takes a lot out of you. Not to mention the type of clothing for scent control.

Yeah and with your scent you need twice as much as everyone else! ;)

Very true DW! It would be awesome to have a whole deep freezer full of meat to choose from all the time. Bodybuilding heaven!

Oh believe me it is nice. We normally have axis, white tail, pork, turkey and sometimes elk.

Damn beef costs me a fortune....

I could imagine. I spend about $85 per animal but like I said it will last a few months.

10-3-11

Still have lower back soreness. Last night I jumped in our tub big round one, not the normal type. Put some epsom salt and hot water. needless to say Cathie said I had been asleep at least 30 minutes minimum. She said she didn't hear any movement in the tub so she came in to check on me. LOL ooops. I guess it helped relax me enough to crash out. Once I got out the tightness and soreness quickly came back. Went on with my day today and felt like and 90 year old man that needs a walker. sheesh.

So long story short I went in for my workout and used light weight and focused more on contraction. Now let me say this, it was not easy I felt like a pansy lifting so light. But when I picked up a weight that was a little heavier boy did I feel it in my lower back. So I put it back and went lighter.

Tonight's workout had no lower body movements probably wont do any lower body until I feel better.

Way to kill it Jeff.

Thanks guys. It felt really weird lifting light. Had to do a couple reps with different weights to make sure I could do them without a lot of stress on my lower back. I am going to wait this week out and if it is not better by the weekend I will go get it looked at. I hate medical doctors. I believe they are over paid guessers. Unless they have an x-ray that clearly shows something wrong. I tried to keep my abs tight during the lifts and even wore a neoprene belt with magnets in the lower back for some sort of support.

Now as far as the RS- Transaderm is concerned I have read a few post that talked about the amount per pump. Well I can say this If I hold the bottle up right and shake it then do a pump it sprays sporadic. Sometimes you get a nice full spray, and some times it shoots out fast with very little comes out. Now when I spray the back I tend to hold the bottle upside down and the same thing happens. Hence why I use 6 pumps. Instead of 5 pumps.

Great looking workout! Keep handling your business in the gym and your results will be there in no time. NICE JOB!

hey ive been following along and all, just wondering what your exact goals are with this cycle or in general. Basically i guess im asking if you are trying to cut/recomp/build strength. Youve been killing it thus far sir. Keep it up.

Thanks for asking. My goal for everything I have taken thus far is to build some strength and to cut all this skin chub. I want to get down to around 200ish and be around 10%. I have a ways to go but in time hopefully sooner than later.
