What's the last thing you ate??

a slice of flax meal chicken and spinach pizza... MMMMM

Keto sticks are not really reliable, IMO, because if you have high water intake, your urine will not have a high enough concentration of ketones in it to show that you are in deep ketosis. You may actually be way into it, but the stick shows you are not. Not worth the money, IMO.

Also, keep in mind that you will only show significant ketones in urine if you aren't buring all the ketones being produced (ie in a caloric surplus) if you are in a caloric deficit, there isn't nearly as much in "spare" ketones to be released in the urine anyhow, as its all being burned for energy.

so the secret is to keep protein low? you said as low as 0.6 g per lb?

Good point. I lost a good amount of fat and I tried using a buddy's keto sticks and they showed I wasn't in keto. My deficit wasn't too big, only 200 cals under maintenance.

But I am gonna go get tested with a bod pod and get a more accurate measurement of my bf, lean mass, and BMR so i can really fine tune the diet.

I'll have to hunt down lyle mcdonalds book again, but he had some studies (not sure if peer reviewed published) showing that between .6g/lb and .8g/lb was optimal for getting into ketosis, and that nitrogen retention wasn't any higher on a ketogenic diet if it was above that anyhow. I'm sure I have a copy someplace

Wish I could I'm staying at a gal pals if you catch my drift and this is what I got to work with lol

LoL haha. You know what, I usually do bring my own food and look like a jack ass:-) but this was a chance encounter with an old friend, and completely caught me off guard...Scary thing is I actually debated on whether to stop and gather food before heading out to T&A territory....

Looks good. I never tried baking with protein powders, even though some people love it. Now baking with something else in the brownies, maybe.

BTW Those are some nice looking granite counter tops.

2 cans of white albacore 1 can of wild salmon. I'm getting used to it.

Cute rott bro :afro:

Thats just a snack. I prefer the chunk light tuna, it's the same protein but much easier to eat fast.

that's like 130g of protein. How much are you getting in? lol And yeah that is my snack. I normally eat that, 4-6 eggs, and have a protein shake post work out before lunch. Which is usually around 60g more of protein.

And I hate the taste of plain tuna. I end up chasing it with crystal light so I don't have the lingering tuna taste in my mouth.
