Well, you take in a boatload of salt and water today. I don't like to go longer than possible without water, so I don't cut that out until the day of weigh-ins. When are your weigh-ins?

thats very dangerous.

You should cut the water the day before, and if its gona go on for a lengthy period of time, weigh yourself between fights and extrapolate how roughly much water you lost against callories burnt (of course it wont be 100% accurate) and drink drink that much to keep yourself hydrated.

I've got cutting down to a science. Salt and water loading prior to the cutting phase is essential to tricking the aldosteron levels and allowing for an easier cut. I've done this not only with myself, but with other training partners and they all agree that this is the best way to cut weight.

Notice, I also did not say to go without water the entire event. I said to cut out water only hours before the actual dehydration/sauna sessions and then immediately replenish after you step on the scale.

awe man how did I miss this thread? Some good recipes floating around in here. Gotta go back and start copying some of these down :food:

its just a small tournament. weigh ins at 9 AM and it starts at 11 AM. the rules are crazy, check it out:

Science hey? Nice to meet you.

I met the westmidland MMA champion in a chip shop near my house, he lives round the corner. He gave me a good recipe:

4 days prior to comp (for 3 days) 10lt water, 1000mg VitC 3x/day, Elderflower Root Extract - Im not sure of the dosage for Elderflower Root Extract but its very good stuff.

eh it was my first tournament as a blue belt. passed the kids guard and got points but it was a no time limit submission only. then i was playing spider guard pretty recklessly, got a sweep but then he bounced back and caught me in a good foot lock. nobody ever goes for them at my school for some reason so I didnt even think about it. good experience though, fought for like 8 minutes. add me on facebook, i got a video: Anton Tweezy

In BJJ, footlocks have really made a big comeback during competitions. However, they still have a high element of risk to them and are limited in their MMA applications.

yea thats what sucks about playing spider guard, if they can break the grip for just one second the foot lock is right there. in mma you'll obviously take face shots if you just lie down for a footlock. im definitely pumped to do more tournaments now, there is one on Jan 8th. my brazilian teacher and his boy daniel beleza are fighting ryan hall and jake mackenzie in a super fight.

Tacos last night (97% beef, light seasoning, lettuce, tomato, onion, reduced fat cheese, whole wheat tortillas)

6 Eggs/Glass of Milk this morning.

Me too, cept My taco was 33% white and 33% asian and 33% african american. Def heavy seasoning, she needed to shower. With meat curtains, lots of ranch dressing, reduced fat thighs, on my bed>

Delish

Just throwing in my 2 cents here....

McDonald's hasn't used any trans-fats in several years. But yea the food is still s**t.

yea its a new type of hydrogenated fat that they dont have to call trans fat on the label. it is actually way rancid and even worse than trans fats, i just dont remember where i was reading about it.

I hadn't heard that, I guess I was being optimistic and hoping they used something healthier! That is some bull s**t though!

well of course. its all about marketing. actually Mcdonalds for a long time used animal fat (lard) to cook for a long time which is actually a pretty good way of cooking. after the whole "anti fat/kill cholesterol" compaign they switched over to the rancid vegetable oils.

I did know about the early use of lard, but was completely unaware that they switched to an even more sh***ier type of fat, worse then trans-fat.... You are right my man its all about making a quick buck; why should McDonald's care about peoples health when a majority of people who eat their, frequently, don't give two sh*ts about it......?

the best are the burgers. most of fast food burger patties are prepared by this company from cow hooves, faces, trimmings from all over the world. then when they try to protect the meat from bacteria they send the patties through this tunnel where they get sprayed by ammonia. and then they turn around and charge you as much for a combo meal as it would cost you to cook two healthy meals.
