The Future of Primordial Performance

did we ever get a price?

Opposite of summoning the KOTR (Mimic materia FTW), However, I still think the coolest thing to watch was Cloud's Omnislash. BTW...did ya ever defeat Emerald and Ruby Red Weapon? ;)

I find it crazy that still to this day...a large majority of the gaming public considers Sepiroth the most iconic villain in video game history. :D

Oh and BTW...yes I still do workout too...just can't do too much until I am 100% healthy. Hell it might even be another 4 months before I am really going on all cylinders again because of this damn knee injury that put me down.

Why did you guys have to go and mention FF7?
One of the greatest RPG's in history and pretty much the mother of the modern RPG genre.

And I beat both Ruby and Emerald weapons. Took a lot of work, strategy, coins for one and an almost endlessKOTR/Phoenix summons for the other. And Omnislash was awesome. I always wished Barret's friend Dyne could have been playable. Would have been cool to have to have them on the same team.

I pretty much ripped up all the PSX/PSONE RPG's and a couple of PS2 when my son came to visit. Have not gamed in years due to working two jobs and spending the rest of my available time with my little one.

Have been blessed to only have to work one recently and have a lot of gaming and catching up to do. Plus Jr. may be coming to stay with me mainly now and that is great.

I had VII on PC. It was a perfect port, right down the chocobo race cheat.

I am seriously thinking about building a hardcore gaming pc and getting emulators for the old school games. Or fixing up one of my cousins old new age consoles, popping linux on it and using it for the same purpose.
Some guy modded the old xbox for my cousin and he had tons of old school games on there.

I am happy to see that the PS3 was finally jailbroken. Now I just need to look into how its done, what are the cons to doing it, etc. Having had no time for gaming lately, I havnt really played much though. The game that I started and fell in love with is Demon's Souls. I seriously recommend anyone with a PS3 gets this. It is an RPG, but it is unlike anyone I have played previous. And it is hard as ****. No difficulty settings, nothing, just hardcore mode the whole time. Expect to die often. Damnit, I was going to bed after rounds on the boards, but now it looks like I am firing up the PS3!

I also am getting into TeamFortress 2, which Steve convinced me to get. Very fun game as well, its literally like CounterStrike but in a non-serious way.

Guilty.

Damn chronotrigger, the combination attacks were sweet, also haven't heard mentioned yet but super mario rpg was a great game, anyone who says different will get some ultra jump on they heads, thats right one turn, one attack, mutliple enemies hit multiple times. Ps, its almost November 1st any guesses as to what the big announcement will be? I'm thinking that the winner should get 1) Free PP stuff 2) A night with Celes

Love the series but I can wait...
Got my pre-order in on Assassins Creed 3 though....:sgrin:

Yeah buddy...love that game series. The Brotherhood is going to kick ass. I am curious to see about the multiplayer that will supposedly be offered and be "revolutionary to the gaming industry. ;)

Cheers!

My daughter and I played thru (taking turns) assasins creed 1 in my movie room, on the 10' diagonal screen, then she played thru assasins creed 2 herself there. its so crazy immersive on something that size

Final Fantasy VII and Chrono Trigger were two of my favs back in the day. In fact, I downloaded FFVII on my PS3 this week just to play it again. I think the Resident Evil series was my favorite of all-time, though. The Castlevania series was equally as amazing in ways.....Simon's Quest being my fav.....followed by Symphony of the Night.

While I was an huge RPG fanboy back in the day, I'm more immersed in First Person Shooters. I've been hooked on BBC2 for quite a while now. I'm really looking forward to Black Ops coming out soon as well. There is nothing more therapeutic after a bad day in the ER than coming home and blowing sh*t up on m y PS3. :)

I'll occasionally dip into my old game collection and rock those for a bit, but I barely play games anymore. They're not a priority in my life and I don't make time for them like I used to.

I'm in the same boat. I rarely have any time to play outside very late at night when the wife and baby are sleeping; even then, I usually have school work or other business dealings to be completing anyway.

Ahh, the joys of adulthood. :D

I'll play a few rounds of some Smash Bros Brawl to get out the urge or maybe pop in Resident Evil 4, but that's it.

However, there will always be a special section of my heart for RPGs.

RE4 is a fantastic game. I have RE5, but haven't finished it yet.

Speaking of PH, why didn't you go "The One" route? That product appears to be in circulation....for what seems like at least a couple of years after it's "discontinuation". There is a new reviews, a topic on it, logs, all still very active.

The ONE was only discontinued LAST year. For the record, the only way the ORIGINAL The ONE can be "in circulation" or use is if people stocked up on it and are either reselling it or using it themselves, since Applied Nutriceuticals certainly hasn't had it since they discontinued it.

I've been hooked on RE4 for a long time. Haven't tried RE5 yet, wanted to get some reviews before spending my money. So what's your review, is it even close to RE4. If so, it's mine.

I think it's been almost 10yrs since I played any games. Life took over for me at about 16-17 so never could play any and lost the interest.... RE 1 scared the crap out of me though....

Resident Evil 4 is worlds better than 5. Honestly, 5 was a huge disappointment for me. However, I am also a huge fan of the series so when tweaks are made that mess up what makes RE great it is hard to give the game a chance. I played it and beat it, but honestly I got pissed off at the game because it was too much of a shooter game and that is not Resident Evil (the suspense feeling was taken out of it as well it was lacking in puzzles and strategy). In truth, Resident Evil 2 is still the best in the series. Speaking on Resident Evil...how in the hell can the movies get made and there is not even a mention of Leon Kennedy or Ada Wong? WTF?

Going through Fable 2 again now and just straight stomping it easy. Basically buying up every possible thing available to make money. People are jealous but Im rolling in money and my character is a BA. If I run through it again I will just see how fat and disgusting I can make a character lol.

2 and 4 are the ones I've played the most and prefer 4 just because it was much, much more intense. Plus, I was never a huge fan of the original control scheme and loved the renovation in RE4.

Well 4 was something special...no denying that. RE1: Director's Cut and RE2 were awesome as well. The stories in those games were just better than the rest of the others in the series. Code Veronica was a bit ridiculous and some of the others in the series just sucked balls.

Ok since everyone is basically waiting for the info on our upcoming AndroSeries line and we are now talking about video games to kill some time let's see how many of you gamers know what a great story is.

Give me your top 5-10 games that had epic stories that just drew you in. :)

How did this thread turn into a video game discussion? Since it did, the only games I play any more are the Legend Of Zelda games just ordered Invalid Link Removed

Skyward Sword is due out in 2011 for the Wii. The best game series ever imo.

Final Fantasy VII - still brings chills

Chrono Trigger - the pinnacle of RPGs for SNES, and sadly one of the last

Secret of Evermore - A story about a boy and his dog getting lost in many different periods of time.

Earthbound - Classic RPG elements w/ a story that takes place in the present, young boy and three friends save the world.

The Witcher - A monster hunter for hire whose group is to always remain neutral in politics is thrown in the middle of a war between people who believe his kind are no better than the monsters they kill. My description doesn't do the game justice.

Dragon Age: Origins - Great RPG with a lot of classic elements as well as some new tricks. Much of the story revolves around the players decisions.

Fallout (all except tactics) - Post apocalyptic world where a wasteland wanderer has an open world to explore. Think Book of Eli or Mad Max series.

Morrowind - A prisoner ends up trying to save Morrowind from an evil god.

Oblivion - A prisoner ends up trying to save Cyrodiil from a group that's trying to create a bridge between their world and the world of the evil gods, daedra.

Mass Effect (1 and 2) - I can't even begin to describe this epic without giving away too much. Play these games! The story redefines Epic...then again, I love me some sci-fi. Cannot wait for Mass3!

I can live with that list...

Were any of you PS2 owners fans of Okami?

Honestly, I think the golden years of gaming were on the PS2 in general. A lot of my favorite games come from the PS2 and some even from the original PS1 days. In saying that...I never played Okami.

Anyway, Some of my favorites...

FFVII

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain (stories are different, but the games are very similar and both games are made by the same people)

Metal Gear Solid (the entire series is great)

Legend of Legaia

Final Fantasy XII

The Legend of Dragoon

Final Fantasy X

Mass Effect (Both 1 and 2 are great)

Really I could throw in more final fantasy games to be honest and some Suikoden games too. However, that is enough for now. :D

If you are a big gamer you are more than likely to forget some games. It is hard to remember all of the great ones really. I mean I left out a lot of games I thought were awesome, but the stories in some games were just not strong enough while other factors made the game great...for instance...GTA: San Andreas...there was just so much you could do in that game and the map was enormous and of course it became one of the most heavily modded games ever too. You should play the PC version...there are mods where you can play a resident evil style GTA, or there is theme based on the show LOST, and even cooler...there are mods where you can play as the HOFF during his Michael Knight days and yes you get to drive Kitt as well...the knight rider theme is bad ass BTW. :D

Where the hell is Donkey Kong in any of this???! I don't see it! You must've just had a brain fart..

;)

I'm an FPS fan for sure..... Played nearly every other game mentioned too as I always have loved rpgs but honestly don't have as much time as I'd like to devote to them..... after I shut myself in for a week straight to beat it then and hit every extra and side story available in the game....

With that said the couple games that I have logged not just hours or days with, but months, would be:

Golden eye 007 (N64)
Halo
Halo 2
Halo 3 ..... (have reach but no live right now)
Gears of war
Gears of war2
COD MW
GTA san andreas
Prince of Persia (all)
Assassins creed, all

Also.... For some nerdness, was in clans for all of these in high school....

Diablo series
Warcraft I, II (not wow, never played it)
Starcraft
Command and conquer (red alert)

Games have been in my life for forever.... Tiger handhelds, Vectrex, Intelevision, atari, sega master system, genesis, game gear, nes, gameboy, snes, n64, ps1, xbox, 360..... Owned them all at one point or another (between me and my friends I would literally be able to list every system ever made, even the Virtual boy) , most at my folks house for all the grandkids to play, the rest died or lost in moves... Vectrex still lives though amazingly enough....

my all time favorite was Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, on the PC

In the game's storyline, the protagonist Christof falls in love with a nun named Anezka who tends his wounds after he falls in battle. Christof, not fully recovered, ventures into the Bonn Silver Mines (near Prague) to kill Ahzra the Unliving, a twisted Tzimisce vampire. His glorious return to Prague doesn't go unnoticed by the local vampire leaders and soon he is "embraced" (turned into a vampire) by Ecaterina the Wise, leader of the Brujah clan, as to boost the ranks of vampires in preparation for a brewing battle between vampire clans. Having been made one of the undead, the passionate crusader has to realize that he deviated from his religious mission long ago; being only a mundane soldier, he was easy prey for the vampires. His rebellious nature, however, urges him to find a way to redeem his soul, perhaps by regaining his mortal state. But before long, in a move designed to torment Christof (in retaliation for dispatching Ahzra), the nun is kidnapped and turned into a ghoul, a servitor to vampires addicted to vampire blood. This changes Christof's part in the course of events, since he is now being wracked with guilt as he feels his affection towards Anezka led her down a path of sin. Christof swears to face the vampires who took her and restore her life as human.

In his quest, being a powerful vampire, he must learn to conquer his dark side and gain experience with his new powers (vampiric disciplines, similar to spells) to fight against a world of darkness that unfolds before him, as he learns more about this new world he is now a part of, while struggling to maintain his humanity and the faith he once had as a holy knight.

In a climactic battle he is buried under tons of rubble, only to awaken centuries later in the modern world, uncovered by an archeological dig, and faced by a whole new series of challenges – including a fearsome new enemy whose actions may well doom the entire world. Christof eventually finds the vampires responsible for the kidnapping of his love only to find the pure woman of God that he fell in love with is now a twisted, violated creature of the night who shuns him as an emotional weakling, serving to an Infernalist Tzimisce plotting to avert Gehenna by destroying all the Antediluvians. The game sports three different possible outcomes, depending on certain choices in the game which affected Christof's humanity level either negatively or positively.

I never played Redemption, only Bloodlines. I assume it's worth picking up?

Since we're on games, the kids have a Wii. So what are some good RE type games for the Wii. I know RE4 is available, but are there any other suspense, shootem up type games for Wii.
