Whats your most important supplement?

If you could pick one supplement that you take as a staple, what would you say? Rather gereral question, but sometimes simple discussion can open peoples eyes to new things.

Not looking for reps to just mention products from their companies, this is not an advertisement thread. This is a real world feedback thread.

I would choose Alpha Lipoic Acid, as I find it very helpful with carb uptake, creatine uptake, and just happens to be a extremely potent antioxidant that is both fat and water soluble. It also helps recycle other antioxidants in the body, stabilizes blood sugar levels acting in a insulin mimmetic fashion, and increases gluthinone peroxidase production in the liver that helps to detoxify the body.
 
i gotta say protein, if im on the go, protein powder is what i need, at work, in between meals.


But if theres another supplement aside from that i may have to just say BERBERINE

berberine is whats found in AP, glycobol, and recompadrol.

its also found in various other supplements like yellow gold, as well as herbs like barberry, coptis, goldenseal .

P.S. My staple would have to be Metamucil. Not sure if all would consider that a "supplement" but damn it keeps me innards happy.

I tried supplementing Vit D, but just noticed so much more just from tanning (I guess you could say that's supplementing). What brand you use?

Right now I think "Nature's Best" is the brand. You would think living in Florida that my 25-Hydroxy-Vitamin D level would be well within the normal limit, but even I was sub-therapeutic. Most of the literature now wants your level well into the upper limits of the norm. Some of these new studies are freakin' amazing in what they're discovering about genetic activiation properties alone.

I notice a HUGE difference in my instances of getting sick on the decline. Working in the ER I typically get sick 4 x year due to some of the seriously virulent sh*t that passes through, but it's been well over 6 months since I've been ill.
 
My staples would have to be protein and cordyceps.

My staple for over coming a plateau or getting ready to go to the beach a.k.a I don't want to look like a beach ball would be formestane.

i'm gonna go with my multis, because i just dont eat anough foods that give me the full spectrum of nutrients i need on the daily... so right now its Now's ADAM. OT from CL is nice too.
 
besides the basic carbs and protein, a GH booster is the next addition. x-dreams worked very well, now i'm building up a tolerance so i'm looking at somnidren.

if i could pick one problem to have, it would not be insomnia....

Ever consider ghrp-6? As for insomnia I dont recommend running phenibut for extended periods, as the withdrawl is .....well basically you will not fall asleep for about a week and a half. Nothing works to help you sleep, unless you get totally sh*tfaced. Went through it twice, and omg does it suck major balls...
 
i tried lunesta, but i woke up so foggy, i decided it wasn't worth the price tag. i'm planning a major order which will be bulk L-dopa, 1-carboxy and somnidren, and i'll rotate through them this time. ghrp-6 is a bit too pricy for me, especially if there are sub 50 dollar alternatives for a 30 day supply :)
 
There ain't one but the following are all amazing:

1. Formestane TD.
2. Orange Triad: here you get megaC, megaBs, vitD and K, joint support, antioxidants
3. Anabolic pump (not tried Glycobol). Wanna see if I can mimic it with Yellow Gold + PSlin
4. PPs or AIs resveratrol ... in theory at least. I like Fo-Ti alot which is a bit similar
5. X-dreams is excellent. Nothing comparable.
6. Protein powder
7. Chorella/ antioxidant (MycoGreen MST)
Adaptogens: Maca and (6-year old) ginseng.

Supplement vit D like Trauma but notice zip. I use D3.
The whole P5P/B6 thing and synthetic B vits (pyritinol, sulbutamine, + B3-GABA one) all do zip. Its probably because I take megaBs in my multi long term.

Summary
1. I prefer formestane. I've stocked up 9 months supply. Might stock some more.
2. Good ginseng is second. No stock. Ginseng has been on the go for a couple of thousand years at least so I don't think the FDA will ban it. You never know... group think "thousands of year traditions are a threat to the health of the American people, we cannot allow them to make personal choice" minutes of the everyday FDA meeting. Ginseng not only gives energy but resets the body from stress (adaptogen).

Wanna look at DHT PHs in detail....
 
Probably any creatine based product. It is to the point where I feel like I shouldn't even workout if I don't have it.

Creatine - My most important.
 
For me:
1. Multi- Orange Triad
2. Fish Oil
3. Hydro Whey (costs more, but I personally think I get more out of it, also the Amino IMO are better quality)
 
it would be Creapure creatine, above all others!!!
 
I love my melatonin :) sleep helps growth/recovery more than anything... I can get most other things I need from diet, but melatonin is essential for me. Also, i read 1-5mg a melatonin a night significantly increases GH levels... This can probably be attributed to the sleep benefits though.
 
I was debating this the whole time I read this thread and I just kept coming back to protein. I take it in different ways. Right now my favorite is chocolate protein pudding. Adding it into some greek yogurt making it a 3g fat 10g carbs and 37g protein snack.

I do this with ATW Cinnamon Bun and plain Chobani it's delicious.
 
I would say mine is a toss up... for bodybuilding purposes PROTEIN, pure & simple, ya gotta have your protein. But, at the same time, due to present and past injuries and trying to keep my body/joints healthy so I can continue to lift; it would be a potent combo of Omega 3-6-9, Glucosamine, MSM, & Chondroitin!
