Hey fellas, a bit of a question for you guys.
I don't really know anyone American so its mostly based on movies, tv, docos etc (from Aus).
Americans all seem like they're into the macho culture. Your movies are brudally violent, and even the action figures are massive. Guns are massive, big emphasis on the military etc. All pretty cool (atleast in movies)
Lets not forget the muscle cars, boxing, cage fighting, wrestling, NFL etc. Yeah a lot of cultures are like that, Australia's pretty into its rugby, car racing etc.
BUT
Why is it that in movies, ads and tv shows heaps of you guys drink light beer?! In aus if someone orders a light beer he'll get tampons thrown at him.
I don't mind a beer that goes down easy, but it seems like as soon as a beer is not full strength/flavour then its considered not manly enough (unless you're the designated driver I guess).
Just curious as to why theres that strange duality
Welcome to use this thread to ask about other american things you've seen in movies.
Oh, do rednecks really exist like the ones (usually) in those 'deep south horror movies)?
haha, thanks fellas
