Wow, it's uncanny that you bring the Psalms! I've likened this friend to King David. So human, but an uncommon man after God's own heart. Let's passionately claim His promise that what the enemy means for evil, He will turn to good. Believe me, if I were at liberty to say who we're praying for, the page count of this thread would double in just a little while with posts of support.

My wife has had platelet issues and was positive for a jakII test which means bone marrow check. She is possibly pre-lukemia as her grandfather had it.
BTW - It is usually treatable these days.

David is such an encouragement to me.
It always amazed me that a man "after God's own heart", could commit adultery, murder and still find grace and mercy from God.
I think him having a passion for God enabled him to become humble, admit his sin, and repent....MAJOR lesson for me.

You are speaking my language now! I believe the Lord used imperfect examples in scripture (over and over) to show us that He doesn't require perfection. We can still be used of Him despite our vulnerabilities, failures and frailties.

I'm back guys, sorry I was gone so long. It's time to get this thread rolling again!!
Our enemy has been busy lately, attacking friendships and trying to promote fear. He likes to make brothers fight, in hopes that we won't realize we should really be mad at him! He is the source of ALL hate, have no doubt about that. But I'm calling him out for the liar he is. Don't be fooled. Spiritual paralysis will provide an avenue for the devil to function through the believers who fall for his deceptions. Rebellion, jealousy and pride are his weapons, and he whispers in your ear constantly to make you believe it. But fear provides an open door for demonic traffic, it's the fuel they need to function in your life. Shake off spiritual weakness and wake up! You are children of The Most High God, and once you realize that you never settle for second best again.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. - 2 Timothy 1:7 (believe that and be strong!)
Emerge from the fog of uncertainty, and see with great clarity the purpose God has for you. Breath a sigh of relief from all the stress that's found a home in you for the last few weeks and months. This is a new day that carries with it new possibilities and new hope. Renew yourself in trust and expectation while maintaining spiritual discernment of reality.

It seems as though some of these people, and I use that term very loosely, cant seem to help themselves from acting like total and complete tools. I love this site, and the lack of respect that they bring is concerning. That good clean fun thread is horrible. Im all for a joke, and I make them frequently, but these guys are ridiculous. I know I should pray for them, but it really makes me want to become the man I used to be, and they wouldnt like him. looks like I need to practice some patince and tolerance perhaps.

It seems to me that any thread that someone posts a message of faith in Christ there is an immediate backlash from the same handful of people. I don't report anything I see though. Most of these guys feel they object to belief in God base on intellectual grounds, but the level of hostility and anger betrays something different and I believe it is spiritual in nature.
I see it as my duty as a Christian man to pray for these lost souls and it is the Holy Spirit's job to convict them. No amount of arguing will ever work IMO.

I would never want to take away anybody's freedom of speech as I believe it is a God given right, but I do wonder why when someone posts a thread another person feels they have to interject there own hatred and hostility it would be more appropriate to simply move on to another thread. Also there is an appropriate/respectful way to disagree and more often than not it's anything but. I try to steer clear myself and when I don't I always end up with this feeling:banghead:Why did i do that:banghead:why:banghead:why:banghead:why. Just my opinion.

Sorry to hear that, Z. I will continue to ask that the Lord soon opens the right door for you. Be still and know that He is God. He has you in a "season of waiting" for a reason. I love knowing that as long as we’re kicking and breathing, He can change the course of our testimonies. God hasn’t put a period at the end of our sentences yet.

Your all in my prayers tonight folks!! in regards to the Doc's earlier post, the old me of 10 years ago would have been in a rage, and wanted to smash those responsible. The new me, however, feels sorry for them. It's a great thing how enlightening the ways of God are. Can't believe I wasted so much of my life being that angry, bitter kid. My health is now so much the better for it.

Yes, I agree. It's time to fight back, because the adversary is flexing again and it's only getting worse. If we are the salt, and if we are to be the light, that means we must shine when it gets dark!! Not make excuses for the shadows.
Jesus Himself said that no man knows a greater love than to lay down his life for his friends, and He was right. He also said 'you are either for me or against me.' God detests lukewarm spin doctors that tolerate injustice, or call good evil and evil good. Be hot or cold! The code of true discipleship is strict, and you don't even qualify to serve if you don't put God's will first. You must even reject your own family if necessary, and He warned that your enemies may be members of your own household one day. Time for a backbone check boys, don't be surprised. A man can't heap coals in his lap without getting burned, just like he can't make a deal with the devil and hope to win. You will lose those negotiations, I can assure you.
I could care less if the guys here wanna engage in 'locker room talk', how many drugs they do or all the women they screw, because 10-15 years ago I may have joined them in that kind of immature discourse. I draw the line when they gang up on a non-consensual sister of mine though, and I will fight without hesitation as need be. We have an obligation to "speak up and judge fairly..." and defend the rights of those who cannot defend themselves, or those innocent ones in need that we have charge of. - Proverbs 31:9. Woe to you, any man who fails to do so! (especially just for political peace.) Remember that your deeds determine the character of your eternity, so stand for truth and be a warrior in this short life, not a wuss.

With this being said, people never stop to analyze whether they are in or out of the Godly path. Lukewarm is basically playing with God, and that is something I sway away from, I would advise people understand this analogy well. It is worth to serve God and sacrifice then to sin at will and not see God in heaven.

The ones you are referring to are "junk yard dogs" who are wallowing in the purgatory of the undead. They can't die and are not really living. They are a danger to no one. If you don't walk by their yard dragging your stick across their chain linked fence the are of zero consequence. They influence and attach no one but those who entertain their junk yard behaviors. They are on the "other side" and are powerless.
The sign on their fence clearly says beware of dog. It is the ones that have not been clearly identified that I would worry about. JMHO

*Sadly we live in an estranged world that has fallen for the deceitful promises of Satan.
*Paul says that the devil has successfully "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel" (2 Corinthians 4:4, New International Version).
Paul also calls Satan "the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient" (Ephesians 2:2, New Revised Standard Version).
*Satan is a master deceiver for he presents his ways as enlightened and wise when in truth they are quite the opposite. He cleverly appeals to our human nature, which is hostile to God (Romans 8:7) and, for the most part, concerned only with itself (Galatians 5:19).
* Jesus reveals that the most significant characteristic of our own nature is what causes sin. "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41). Satan knows how to exploit our weaknesses. He tried the same game with Jesus but failed miserably :
First he tried exploit Christ's physical hunger (He had been fasting for 40 days). Next Satan appealed to pride and lastly to common human desire for power and prestige.
A CLEAR VISION REQUIRES CLEAR FOCUS. To resist Satan we must follow the Word of God. It is that simple. We must also distance ourselves from non-believers so that their ways do not become our ways.

So true, I had that test of humility not long ago. For once I actually admitted and cried out loud, God, help me because I really, really cannot do this on my own !!!!!!
And so he did
I'm far from perfect but at least I realized He sure is there to help me. God wants true fellowship with His people. That cannot be done unless we let Him handle the burdens that are too heavy for us to carry alone.

That is what I am getting at as well, may have not come across that way
My problem was in my reluctance to ask God for help. That was my weakness being used by the devil to keep me away from God. I was reluctant simply because I believed that my trouble wasn't significant enough and so I felt it was "inappropriate" to "bother" God with it.

What is most empowering to me from this knowledge is that Jesus never said "I better pray about this" or "let's get a prayer group together" or "I better get some support from my brothers" (I'm being sarcastic for a purpose) - He stood firmly on the word of God and rebuked Satan with the very same power that we are heirs to.
Matthew 4:1-11
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'
Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'
Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'
He responded as a fully armored warrior as outlined in Ephesians 6:10-18.
Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Notice something in the NIV translation: Matthew 4:1 "Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil.
This sounds nothing like an accident to me. It sounds like a warrior fortifying his mettle. We have the very same mettle. We should not be so worried when we are called to use it.
We are Christ-like when we use it as he used and tested the very same mettle...and it was good! Better than good!
