You only pick up 5lb dumbbells because you're just 'toning' and don't want to bulk up.
OP where you getting them made at? I like.
you dont rest between sets at all? just curious. cause im pretty sure i would only get 4 sets in before dying if i didn't rest at all in between
My gym has 3 squat racks and not many people squat at my gym lol.. Its a "fitness club"..
I'm compiling a list of the top 10 reasons people fail at the gym for a shirt I want to make. This is in a joking manner so I'll start with this...
10. You spend more time talking on your cellphone than lifting
9. You utilize the mirror to admire yourself rather than perfect your form
8. You perform reps of heavy weight at 1/4 range of movement
7. Your routine consists of chest and biceps 5 days a week
6. You don't squat or dead lift
5. You barbell curl in the power rack
4. You drop dumbbells and barbells after your sets
3. You spend more $$$ on supplements than on your diet
2. Your rest between sets exceeds your reps...in minutes
1. You believe that steroids are the answer
The number one reason most guys have average physiques at the gym is that THEY DON"T WORK HARD.

Well, some on your list I actually do and feel it contributes greatly to my success. For instance,
9. You utilize the mirror to admire yourself rather than perfect your form
-Proper form has never done anything for me, if I want to stop my gains and hit a plateau, I'll do perfect form. It is knowing how to, and when to cheat are what makes me continuously move forward.
8. You perform reps of heavy weight at 1/4 range of movement
-I perform partial movements on pretty much all exercises because I find them far superior to full extensive reps in terms of building mass.
6. You don't squat or dead lift
-I personally avoid both of these. I use to squat and deadlift heavy until 3 years ago when I realized my legs and back were not growing. I switched squats to lunges and my legs ballooned up. I switched deadlifts to half rack partial deadlifts and my back blew up.
Thats just me though, we are each different.
any man who wears lifting gloves
I didnt think of lifting gloves until I was doing deads and had a callus rip off and started bleeding on everything. Then I just realized, fck what people think...its practical.

In that case you may have needed gloves, or possibly straps
gloves yes, straps no.
Straps are a replacement for decent forearm muscles.
I wear gloves even on leg day.

LOL ... Dr.D, is that because you are doing lunges with a 150lb dumbell in each hand?
I think I wore gloves the other day during a leg workout ... just force of habit I guess.

I wear gloves so I don't get thick as$ calluses on my hands, I'm a cook and need to feel what i touch. Calluses also create an undesirable surface that promotes the spread of bacteria and scrapes skin off my wang when I whack it.
I use straps because working one muscle group at a time gives me better results and I can go a couple more reps when doing dead's or rows. Lately I have been doing forearms while I watch my kid take a bath every night.
I wear back support on ab day? lol
i never wear back support..
I laughed through all of this except for that last sentence... W T F :shocked1:
Wow! I see how that could be misconstrued....I meant that I keep a forearm flexing machine thing in the bathroom and bust out like 10 sets while the baby is in the tub. Babies can't be left in tubs unsupervised....they eat the shampoo.
hahaha lmao! I thought you were just making a sick joke, but hey when ya got kids it's amazing how you can find ways to fit things into the madness...
