You should check and see where your blood levels go with that. It may or may not make a big difference, if it doesn't get your blood levels up to a decent level I would ask to be able to use more.
I agree!!!
I had a really good conversation with my doctor concerning hormone replacement therapy.
The nice thing about the gels, is that they keep your test levels pretty constant. He's had good luck with Androgel and Testim for his patients.
There was a 3rd type of gel that he mentioned. The name escapes me, but they had some sort of promotion where this new product would only cost $25 per month, insurance or not. Without insurance, Androgel is around $400 per month, and Testim is around $350.
I forgot to ask about the pellets.
My doctor was most disappointed with the pharmacy compounded gels. They did not seem to raise test levels like they should, and some of them smelled bad. Without insurance, he said they were expensive as well.
Yes, he agreed that injectible Test Cyp from Wallyworld would be the most cost effective solution.
It's always a little akward when you tell your doctor that you've done your own injections before (and you're probably better at it than his nurse).
I had planned injecting the Test Cyp once a week, to keep my levels more constant, but with a dose of only 50 mg / week, it's going to be a challenge to do that. Perhaps I need to invest in some smaller syringes. Perhaps I just need to dilute to 100mg / ml. All I have right now are 3cc barrels, and getting .5 cc tough enough. I might as well forget about trying for .25 cc unless I dilute.
As far as testing my levels, my doctor said that if I test my levels right after I administer, my levels will be high, and if I test my levels right before I adminster, my levels will be low. I am unclear on the rules, or if there is a standard, but I would think that you would want to maintain some MINIMUM level, and therefore would test right before you administer your next dose.
I really think I should get my levels checked in one month to know where I stand. I still think 50 mg / week is really low.
