Snag gets FINAFLEXed on Road to Nationals

early morning training session getting ready to happen before I work a FINAFLEX demo at my local vitamin shoppe..
awoke nice & full this morning, looking pretty tight!
weight just a fraction below 200 right now upon rising, I mean the needle wants to touch 200 sooo bad..

Men's Health never ceases to amaze me, with their silly rankings and what they think they are "qualified" to post "studies" on..
in 2005, they listed my town as the dumbest city in America..now, they rate us as the 3rd-most sexually satisfied city in America!

somehow, I would think those two rankings are in direct conflict with each other lol :p
in any event - sheesh does anybody who is really educated even read that goofy magazine>>>>

another "syndicate" has rated us in the top 8 for most obese city in America in last few yrs.. :rolleyes:
I think these ppl just have a fascination with hoosiers - I mean even most hoosiers don't even know wth a hoosier is

Thank you for re-assuring me that I'm not the only guy in the world who can't help but shake his head every time I read a Men's Health article. Gtfo of here with that crap. I can't stand that sissy-boy crap. You don't need free weights; hot yoga is all you need to get huge arms blah blah blah...

These food pics you keep showing are SO legit....you've gotten me back into greenbeans hard man, & finally brought peppers into the mix. Now I wonder how I ever went without em.

nah no worries - Pittsburgh man, august 30-31..our FINAFLEX athlete Eboni Wilson will be going for his pro card at that show too - guy's a beast

awesome on the beans! (no matter what montebro says)..they make me hard too :D
if I can inspire on food choices, I am pleased :)
 
so I went to the park yesterday to chill and play some Frisbee..and a tennis match broke out :D
played for ~1.5hrs in very hot, humid and heavy air, sweated buckets - days like these, I can easily lose 5lbs of bodyweight
and so, it shows today as weight was down to 198 upon rising, flat
no worries tho, as this is simply a process..just wanted to clarify

legs have not been mowed yet, haven't been able to fit it in, maybe today..

diet today: - low cal/low-carb on a total rest, no activity
(ooo my second rest day of the last week - me likey! they will come so far and in between, normally)

a lil flat and a bit watery at the same time..was weird
weight back to close to 200 this morning - after a lower cal day
I only use weight as a guide to judge things (elements of progress), but my body is responding differently than it usually does...i'd just prefer to follow a more linear path, as weight/bodycomp goes, is all
my cam sucks; pose wasn't really flexing, but because of the time delay you can see I relaxed a bit more in some areas than others, was very uneven pose..no interest in taking more at the time tho - it was rest day :p

upper 80s/lower 90s, but it was a heavy/humid heat that left you out of breath just walking in it

reality is, I am somewhere in the middle, only more cut as this cam is not picking up any striations I have at this point

Looking good Snags! Legs are getting some nice separation in them. Chest is looking great. I am going to have to steel your MM pose and see if it makes my triceps pop more. I just have to get the fat pockets under my chest to go away first and if you remember that happens about 6% for me which sucks but it is what it is. Enough about me, you look awesome and that chest pump is downright nasty!

actually I position my hands differently, together in front still but fingers pointing downward, seems to give better balance to the physique when everything is going same direction rather than crossed
and I see some pocket under my chest too :( the hell is that shyte..
not disturbed by my progress at all, just gotta get crackin is all - lots to accomplish yet!
 
Impressed brother Snags. Looking "striated" is the only word I can used to describe your muscle definition. Can't wait to see the final pictures in which you say "I'm ripped and ready for this show"!

just got done with some MIIT (that would be mid-intensity intervals :D) and LISS..10min worth of mid-level sprinting down the street, followed by 20min liss on treadmill in garage..my neighbors already think i'm nuts, so it prolly wouldn't surprise them if they looked out the window and saw me running up & down the street at midnight lulzz
so, nice workout today, mowed the yard for awhile, late night cardio..feelsgoodman
quick shower (3rd one today!), BCAA+SAA and a scoop of G8, and i'm off to bed :run:

anyway - whoa, I may need to start doing some midnight cardio on a reg basis..not only did I fall asleep fast (altho due credit to G8 here, as it was first day back after couple day break), but I look pretty decent here this morning, did not hit me/deplete me like extended tennis does at all, nice & full here with stomach pretty tight

Yes definitely, I find MIIT and or HIIT is great when followed by 15-20 minutes LISS. The MIIT / HIIT stimulates fat release for energy and then the LISS burns it off.
 
The sleep I get between 10 and midnight is my deepest sleep I think so would have to be earlier for me if I did it.
 
today's training + notes:
kept the pace up, focused on hitting perfect form while slowing the rep tempo a bit, weights middling until last set
did either a flex/hold or a hard-stretch for 10-15sec after every set on the muscle being worked thruout
order went like

7min light cardio to warm
couple sets leg extensions (again still warming with these)
atg BB squats
DB lunges
DB rdl's
hip thrusts
ghr's (weighted)
standing BB calf raises (toes raised on plate)
7min light cardio to cooldown

done in a bit over an hr
was fine until last set of calf raises, which were done lighter comparatively to everything else as I held hard contraction at top for 5sec and followed with hard flex/stretch for 5 setsx20-25 reps -- on the last set, I cramped up something fierce near the end of my reps!

some changes: tilting to all-out dice mode, some changes in the diet, notably elimination of postWO shake as I hit it hard for this last run of the mechabol/1-Alpha combo..that will be the biggest change, but other feedings will be changes somewhat as well

so i'm finished, drinking my BCAA+SAA immediately postWO (eat 30min later)..go to the mailbox and as i'm walking out there my neighbor also is getting his - he says "so you must be getting ready fro competition aqain huh? saw you out there running last night"..

Got those neighbours trained, mine keep me at a safe distance. Remember Canadians are usually less intensive people unless it involves hockey and taht is only real Canadians, you know hosers and there aren't many of us left. I howver and very intense so I think I make some people nervous...

shortly before that, an amway salesman came to my door - I wanted to punch him

we are a violent pair, me & the cat..he must be sneaking into my 1-Alpha

I think everybody wants to punch the amway salesman the Cat is just earning his keep :) or so he thinks....

The cat is showing you what he's done for you. If you put a bell on his collar he'll kill less

I do get tired of going out and scooping these things up..
that may annoy me, he tears around the house a lot too, very active when he's not sleeping 16hrs/day
 
I should have snapped a pic of my last meal - three meat sourcings of tuna (5oz)/roast beef(2oz)/turkey breast(2oz) with some greens and plain rice cakes, but was busy..oh well, got a pic of the meal I just made

turns out ground chicken can be a bit of a challenge on the grill :o tasty as hell tho

I don't think it is that - this stuff has more fat than my regular lean beef I eat! 2g/oz, is not breast just ground chicken
texture is weird tho, cooks differently on my foreman than anything else too

I always over cook deer burgers and tilapia on the charcoal grill because I let them cook too long on the first side in fear of flipping them and them falling apart. So much easier in the foreman but so much tastier in the real grill.

Maybe lay down some tinfoil to avoid that. I'd say you prob don't even need to flip the fish

2oz salmon + 4oz ground chicken + 3oz ham + 1oz roast beef
1/2c black beans on the side, romaine salad as well w/ low-cal vinaigrette dressing
