Notes
No jokers taken. Even though I felt like I put it all out there, maybe 1RIR, after a couple minutes I definitely felt like I could add a bit of weight and go again but didn't.

Great leg pump though, left me shakey. BBB was spicy though.

Sorta funny if I ran my BBB bench at the same weight my recovery would be faster. I think I was running it at 155lbs and going about EMOTM.

So two older women, a Mexican abuela type and an Indian. Probably 55-65 and about 40lbs overweight decide in what I assume is an abundance of modesty, to jump in the hot tub with their shirts in instead of bathing suits

No matter how fat or old a woman is, a wet, white, T-shirt is a wet white T-shirt. These gyms continue to impress me every week.

Im appreciative for their postWO show they put on
Man some wild gyms these days 🤣

When the first gal came out with basically grey sweat pants that were cut off or rolled up to her knees and a white shirt with black polka dots on, I thought... she must have a bathing suit on under that? Then she does the pre-rinse shower before jumping in (nice of her, despite wearing shoes anyways). and she climbs in. I wasn't staring per se, but I did notice just enough out the corner of my eye that this milk truck was not wearing a bra and I thought er... ok white shirt, no bra, big ol funbags and just add water. splash, she drops in. I had my headphones on so pretty sure I didn't say anything ( 😂 ) but I kept thinking, no way this is really happening right now. she lasted like 2 minutes before bailing and sure enough she had those things essentially on full display under her now see through shirt 😂😂

That’s because any squats burn more oxygen than benchpress!
so is that the thing? I think about it a lot during my sets of 10. they really do hammer the system! I have to mentally break them down sometimes to endure 50 reps lol. Like "do 5, reset, finish" or "one, breathe and down and two and breathe and down and..." lol 😂

did I mention the weird janitorial setup? I walk past the womens locker room and there is a sign that says "attention, male janitors in locker room" then walk into the mens locker room where it a sign says "attention! female janitors in locker room" and sure enough, there's a chick in there emptying garbage cans, cleaning windows etc as the guys are sitting there flopping around in nothing but their shower sandals lol

Yesterday I had contemplated splitting up my BBB work between sets of highbar, low bar, and front squats. specifically though 1 or 2 sets of front squats (while maintaining no more than 50 total reps). I did not do that cause I was feeling pretty worked and went just full low bar on each one working on the best depth and form I could. Today, I'm surprised at how strong the doms are in my quads! I can't help but to think thats a good thing to be getting so much quad engagement from my squat sessions right now, in the past I thought maybe those were a deficiency in my squats.

so good man. was craving a burger and the closest thing on the menu was a "loaded burger dip" lol.
gonna have to change the name of my thread if I don't dial it in some though haha
Haha, time to tell the wife, can you learn some lower fat ways for us to eat all of these yummy snacks?

Decent day, hit my numbers +2. I did forget my belt today so I wonder if with a tiny more bracing if I had 6-7 reps on the OHP.

I did opt to hit triceps instead of shoulders for accessory work today. Feels like there is a bigger deficit there.

Trainer comes over to my buddy and I mid set and starts talking, asking about our working weights, asks if he can work in (yes definitely, I always invite people to work in). Asks about my numbers. I don't typically like to talk about my numbers cause they're mine and really only important to me and there is always someone bigger/stronger anyways so who cares, but I tell him. He talks and talks and asks if we do this or that and starts telling me how excited he was when he hit that number or this number.

After all that I'm not sure if I'm being mogged to hire a trainer or if bro is buying me dinner on Friday night.

He saw you using that jerk off attachment and swooped in 🤣

OHP still going strong….as far as the trainer, he’s probably just trying to make money “any way he can.”😜

You’re right, I missed the jerk off attachment….that and the rope attachment were just too much for him. He had to take his shot.😜

LOL Rogue calls it a sports handle, I've found like 6 names for it so far, but I like using it for tricep pushdowns/extensions occasionally, feels like an interesting grip challenger since I have to actually grip it rather than palming it to press it down. I just grab it with one hand at a time and mostly mimic what I'd do with a rope or bar attachment.

I imagine that doesn't push the triceps as well, but helps with grip / forearm strength.

its sorta like the one handed grips in that the overall weight is going to be lower but I can change the position/rom a bit to target a specific area.

with the straight "sports bar" handle (or whatever you want to call it) I was probably only setting the stack at like 42lbs or so but walking away with a crazy pump, whereas if I was doing a two handed tricep push down we're talking the full stack or very close usually. 160lbs ish and up?

arm pump was good though!

So is this the jerk off handle? I was thinking it was the straight bar you had to use your grip on or it would slide out of your hand. Similar to the first picture.

yeah you had it right, Rogue calls it a sports bar. I could see how it could be used to mimick a golf or baseball swing like in that pic, but I just one hand it like I would a normal one handed tricep extension. I've only used it a few times as an experiement and I think there's something to it, but overall weight used is definitely less.

Well I am sure there are multiple things to it, the requirement to squeeze the crap out of the bar/handle tends to also make you contract the targeted muscle a little harder too. The leverages are definitely different, the forearm is going to get a lot more work, and depending on how you hold the bar the leverage changes could make it feel lighter, or heavier in different position of the movement.

I hadn't really thought about either of those things but just now reading your post I put my hand in a gripping motion in front my belly button and flexed it like I was grabbing the rod (stick? bar? meat monster?) and noticed just holding it there in a static position did flex my lateral head firmly, from there as I extend downwards I can engage the long and medial. so even though the weight isn't super high, thats probably why I got a good pump, being able to really get the full tricep engaged. forearm growth is always a plus too! I haven't targeted forearms in probably 20 years I bet.

I don't normally log belted but it's been a topic lately so added it in. I definitely did NOT need it at 295 but I like to put it on early to adjust to it. Plus I'm 203lbs today and I anticipated it being a little tight so 1mm of stretch is a big deal lol.

I think I had at least 2RIR but not sure. The bar never felt heavy, it was just moving slow. I actually thought I was gonna skip today cause schedule got messy with work prepping for 3 day weekend but at the last minute made the push, glad I did

Week 3, so I did take my joker and overloading. If on next cycle I can take 305 and 330 (PR) clean on week three that imply everything after is new. My birthday is around the end of cycle 6 (mid Oct) and my current plan is to take the micro plates in and see if I can PR even if only by one lb at 306 by my birthday. I'd like to do it at 198-200lbs ideally.

Shoot, 310 could be on the table realistically. I mean it’s only 10lbs off what you did today, so if you get a little stronger and just worked up instead of training prior it doesn’t sound impossible. Then you would just do all your work as backdowns after, regardless of make or miss.

I agree with you both @gphagan1 @Hyde I think it's there or very very close. 300 was an honest rep, not a piece of cake but felt great. Only reason I didn't put 5more lbs on was I wanted to get some really heavy weight in my hands (325 slingshot) and I really look forward to week 3 being like my cheat meal week where I "get" to overload

I figure I'm sitting here at 300 in training, and I believe my 1x in training next cycle is 300, so a joker if I have it would be 305+.

I'm in the hunt.... Just gotta stay mentally strong and physically healthy ....

Appreciate you guys !

Nice work man! Congrats on the PR! I’ll be looking forward to what you throw down on your B-Day

What you got this week around the homestead?
It was a crazy busy weekend where I didn't really feel like I accomplished a lot, but never stopped moving if that makes sense? we spent a lot of time marking trees. Pink ribbon meant tree stays, but gets limbed up very high. white paint means the tree comes down:

1788875117068.webp

1788875138286.webp

was able to get a bunch of smaller ones down myself with my tiny little chainsaw. gotta get my big boy stihl into the shop for a tune up this week. we have a pro coming out later in the month to do the very large trees and the limbing:

1788875181806.webp

I cooked rabbit for my wife yesterday cause she's on the fence to as whether or not she can eat "bunny". lol. it was delicious though and she liked it, so I'd say if I'm able to get my fencing done by Jan and actually get the barn built, rabbits are high on my priority list once I know I have my new chicken run and quail hutches ready to go:

1788875250701.webp

Other than that, feels like a ton of busy work. normal fall clean up, mowing, fertilizing plants that are pushing final bloom, some harvesting of garden stuff with my wife (zuchini, cucumbers, beans, tomatos, oh man we have so many tomatos coming. I did get another fence post in, just one but an important one. I'm putting larger 5-6" rounds on the corners but also about every 1/3 of the way down each fence line as anchors then filling in the middle with 3" rounds (half price). So I've been wanting to get these anchor posts in so I can snap a line from post to post and mark where I need to auger out the holes for the rest of the posts.

I have been making all these plans and talking about how my boy will be able to help me cause when the trees are dropped any that we can manhandle I had planned to cut into 10ft sections, delimbed, and stacked into a pile we can use for various things (like my wife's row garden/beds) and I realized last night that my sons labor isn't going to be available for pretty much the rest of the year cause he took a job at a farm where he's going to be working like 35hrs a week across only THREE DAYS (friday/sat/sunday) so he's gonna be earning those bucks $$ and I'll be losing my laborer lol.

Wasn't really feeling it but once I actually got 330 on my back it felt just fine. I might have had 3-4 in me? Hate to use this as an excuse but dude walked in front of middle of rep 1 and threw off my mojo. Still, it felt good enough that I had to give it another go.

Last week top end felt easier and BBB was a struggle bus. Today, top end was a bit of a fight but BBB was way easier. Still work, but not like last week
