I ordered some even though I didn't need it because it'll never be that price again and I made a trade for the DCP. I haven't run DCP in about 2 years, but it's incredible for fat loss. TTA in general is awesome, but the whole formula takes it to 11.

I've spent well over 500 bucks on supps in the last 2 months lol but I'm stocked up for a while! I'm looking forward to trying X Factor advanced. I love Christmas, my moms usually good for getting me close to a year supply of my multi V last year was Animal pak.. This year went with OT.
 
I did buy something yesterday very targeted towards my lifestyle though :D

16 lbs of 93%FF Ground Beef
20lbs of Chicken Breast.

1.69/lb on both, I couldn't pass it up. I also received a $10 gift certificate for spending over $75 on my total grocery bill, so I think I am going to go pick up some more tonight. Can't pass up a deal like that.

the safeway near me puts ice pellets in their ground beef to 'beef' it up on poundage. i never shop there.

Thats crazy, luckily I havn't had a problem. I used to shop at Jewel (Albertson's brand) and still do because they are cheaper then safeway, but the new Dominick's opened 1 block from my apartment, convenience is golden.
 
I always find it funny how certain regions always have different grocery chains. Chicago has SafeWay/Dominicks, South there is Publix, West the big chain is Vanns, Northeast is a lot of Giant's and Meijer's, Midsouth is Kroger/FoodCity/Foodlion etc. Wonder why that is??

simple economics. 30,40,50 years ago as each of those chains were starting, they were local, got their produce + meats locally (or as locally as possible). So as the more successful ones grew, they expanded around their starting territory and moved outwards.

yeah, but walmart spent a lot of time concentrating on setting up their entire distribution system from early on. and realistically, early walmart was more a sears type thing than a grocery chain, the groceries got added later. So they concentrated on inventory management and cheap purchasing from overseas.

One of the most interesting walmart related stories (at least as far as I see it) was that when Levis was nearing bankruptcy, walmart made them an offer for an enormous order, but dictated the price they'd buy for. Up till that point, Levis were made in the US. The order total size was large enough to save Levis as an entity, but the price per unit was so low the only way to fulfill it was to close down US production and have them made in china....

all walmart did was follow basic business 101, too f'ing simple. would you rather sell 100 apples at .5o cent profit. or sell 5 apples for a $1.00 profit?


i am not a walmart fan, but i give them credit for getting this right-too many business's are trying to make too large a profit margin and are wondering why they are filing bankrupcy-f'ing idiots.

I am not implying in any way that I havn't shopped at Walmart, but walmart has been able to achieve those low prices through some very cut throat methods (...as in Easy's post)
 
Just came from Walmart, by the by... ;)

I always do take note of prices there. They've consistently gone up in the past year to the point where a wise enough shopper can get better deals at the regular ol' grocery store - which here is Giant Eagle (owned by Giant). For example - eggs...used to be less than a buck a dozen. Right now, $1.62/doz. Right next to them is the 18-pack for $1.75. Uhhh..... what???

which makes sense considering sears, bestbuy, target and the like are all nationwide. I just wonder why no mass grocery chain has ever done the same.

remember, i said i am not a fan of walmart. but even though they used cutthroat methods to get those jeans cheap-a lot of greedy businesses would have still charged full retail for those same jeans.


like t-ad says walmart prices arent as cheap as they used to be-once they established themselves as the place to go for good prices now they can charge what they want and people will keep going!!! i can't understand why more businesses can't grasp this concept????

But they have. Safeway, kroger, aldi, delhaize, & supervalu are all corporations who own chains of grocery stores across the nation and some even in other countries. For instance, the delhaize group own food lion along with many other stores, they just aren't the same name but owned by the same company, which happens to be in Belgium. Aldi is pretty popular I think and most of the stores I think are called aldi except for trader joes who they also own.

This I have always found interesting. It's the same company but different chains across the nation. Why didn't one chain just expand across the country instead of merging?? Whatever Walmart is doing, they are doing it right, despite the fact that each store is like it's own communist country.

In most cases, the corporations buy successful chains and then rapidly expand them. For example, in all the years I worked at Jewel Osco, I think they changed owners 2-3 times.

I think its primarily related to the distribution of food items and inventory management. Was easier for a successful chain to buy another chain and make changes to it than to spend all the money to build a whole new distribution system and put up multiple new stores up at once. The up front investment cost on a distribution center and say 20 stores is huge if you attempt to do it all at once.

Also of course, its the whole competition issue. A certain level of population will only support x grocery stores per square mile. Adding a new store into that area could end up being an expensive proposition, with it running at a loss for a long time before it builds enough clientel. And particularly in produce + meats thats an issue, because you have to keep a minimal stock level of items, or if a person comes in more than once and you are out of t-bone steaks for instance, they are less likely to come back there to ship.

Never saw it myself, though it does seem to be pretty FX-goofy. Not being a sports fan, I'm sure I'd miss a lot of the humor.

Come to think of it, the only thing I watch on FX is Sons of Anarcy, and the season is over. So is the season for most of the shows I watch. Great...now I have nothing to do each night to unwind. Guess I'll be hangin' around here more often! (IS THAT POSSIBLE?!?!?)

Sons of Anarchy and Rescue Me are both good too.

And the Walking Dead on AMC.

My favorite is The Boondocks.....:D

Watch the import if you can. The American version cut out so much of the movie. The original was made of pure awesome... + soccer.

no re-enactments/no actors/no script. they show the actual 911 call/then they show the body/then they show the detectives questioning witnesses/they figure out the suspect/they go pick up suspect/then you get to see the actual interrogation of the suspect.

i love it-you get to see some wannabe gangster who has been terrorizing his community squirm and cry like a baby for his mommy. all of a sudden when faced with life in prison they aren't so tough-:chairfall:
 
Anybody out there still watch Family Guy? I used to a TON, particularly on Adult Swim. Since kiddo came along 2 years ago, TV watchin' late at night in bed has come to a screeching halt. I can never remember to watch it on Fox, so I have no idea how it has been lately.
 
Family Guy is getting old IMO....same old "shock" humor.....Brian gets all political, they do the gay and unfunny musicals.....prolly 3 min in a 30 min show is funny.

And we're stuck watching Frosty.....from 1969.....Yippee
