Well. I just got word on Courtney. (my best friend's gf). She has stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma in her lungs. Obviously, this is very very bad. She is really close to all of us (our group of friends) and has been for a while. . I cant imagine what she and her family are going through right now and I am realy just at a loss of words. She is returning from Vandy tomorrow and starting some really agressive treatment early next week.

Please continue praying.

Man, that tugs at my heart, sorry to hear it man!! I'll say a special prayer for her, and all you guys as well. At that age, you feel invincible, and never expect to come down with that, at least I didn't. We're all hear for you and her man!!

Telling you I am sorry to hear that, and that I will pray for her, just doesnt seem like enough, though I know it is all I can do. I pray for the heart of CHRIST, that I may feel for my fellow man what CHRIST would, but if I were gifted this, even in portions, things like this would kill me. I truley and sincerly pray that it's GOD's will to restore her health, and equally as important, I pray that you and your friends and family find strength in what may seem like an impossible situation. There is a grand design afoot, however unfair it may seem. GOD bless.

A Warm Fuzzy Tale:

Once upon a time, a long time ago there lived two very happy people called Tim and Maggi with their two children, John and Lucy.

To understand how happy they were you have to understand how things were in those days. You see, in those happy days everyone was given, at birth, a small soft Fuzzy Bag. Anytime a person reached into this bag he was able to pull out a Warm Fuzzy.

Warm Fuzzies were very much in demand because whenever somebody was given a Warm Fuzzy it made him feel warm and fuzzy all over. People who didn't get Warm Fuzzies regularly (stimulus deprivation) were in danger of developing a sickness (spinal degeneration) in their backs which caused them to shrivel up and die.

In those days it was very easy to get Warm Fuzzies. Anytime that somebody felt like it, he might walk up to you and say, "I'd like to have a Warm Fuzzy." You would then reach into your bag and pull out a Fuzzy the size of a little girl's hand.

As soon as the Fuzzy saw the light of day it would smile and blossom into a large shaggy Warm Fuzzy. You then would lay it on the person's shoulder or head or lap and it would snuggle up and melt right against their skin and make them feel good all over.

People were always asking each other for Warm Fuzzies, and since they were always given freely, getting enough of them was never a problem.

There were always plenty to go around, and as a consequence everyone was happy and felt warm and fuzzy most of the time.

One day a bad witch became angry because everyone was so happy and no one was buying potions and salves.

The witch was very clever and devised a very wicked plan.

One beautiful morning the witch crept up to Tim while Maggi was playing with their daughter and whispered in his ear, "See here, Tim, look at all the Fuzzies that Maggi is giving to Lucy. You know, if she keeps it up, eventually she is going to run out and then there won't be any left for you."

Tim was astonished. He turned to the witch and said, "Do you mean to tell me that there isn't a Warm Fuzzy in our bag every time we reach into it?" And the witch said, "No, absolutely not, and once you run out, that's it. You don't have any more." With this, the witch flew away, laughing and cackling.

Tim took this to heart and began to notice every time Maggi gave up a Warm Fuzzy to somebody else. Eventually he got very worried and upset because he liked Maggi's Warm Fuzzies very much and did not want to give them up. He certainly did not think it was right for Maggi to be spending all her Warm Fuzzies on the children and on other people.

He began to complain every time he saw Maggi giving a Warm Fuzzy to somebody else, and because Maggi liked him very much, she stopped giving Warm Fuzzies to other people as often and reserved them for him.

The children watched this and soon began to get the idea that it was wrong to give up Warm Fuzzies any time you were asked or felt like it.

They too became very careful. They would watch their parents closely, and whenever they felt that one of their parents was giving too many Fuzzies to others, they also began to object. They began to feel worried whenever they gave away too many Warm Fuzzies.

Even though they found a Warm Fuzzy every time they reached into their bag, they reached in less and less and became more and more stingy. Soon people began to notice the lack of Warm Fuzzies, and they began to feel less warm and less fuzzy. They began to shrivel up, and, occasionally, people would die from lack of Warm Fuzzies.

More and more people went to the witch to buy potions and salves even though they didn't seem to work.

Well, the situation was getting very serious indeed. The bad witch didn't really want the people to die (since dead people couldn't buy salves and potions) so a new plan was devised.

Everyone was given a bag that was very similar to the Fuzzy Bag except that this one was cold while the Fuzzy Bag was warm. Inside of the witch's bag were Cold Pricklies. These Cold Pricklies did not make people feel warm and fuzzy, but made them feel cold and prickly instead.

But they did prevent people's bag's from shriveling up. So, from then on, every time somebody said, "I want a Warm Fuzzy," people who were worried about depleting their supply would say, "I can't give you a Warm Fuzzy, but would you like a Cold Prickly?"

Sometimes, two people would walk up to each other, thinking they could get a Warm Fuzzy, but one or the other of them would change his mind and they would wind up giving each other Cold Pricklies. So while very few people were dying, a lot of people were still unhappy and feeling very Cold and Prickly.

The situation got very complicated. Warm Fuzzies, which used to be thought of as free as air, became extremely valuable. This caused people to do all sorts of things in order to obtain them.

Before the witch had appeared, people used to gather in groups of three or four or five, never caring too much who was giving Warm Fuzzies to whom. After the coming of the witch, people began to pair off to reserve all their Warm Fuzzies for each other exclusively. People who forgot themselves and gave a Fuzzy to someone else would feel guilty because they knew that their partner would probably resent the loss. People who could not find a generous partner had to buy their Fuzzies and they worked long hours to earn the money.

Another thing which happened was that some people would take Cold Pricklies.....which were limitless and freely available..... coat them white and fluffy, and pass them on as Warm Fuzzies.

These counterfeit Warm Fuzzies were really Plastic Fuzzies, and they caused additional difficulties. For instance, two people would get together and freely exchange Plastic Fuzzies, which presumably should have made them feel good, but they came away feeling bad instead. Since they thought they had been exchanging Warm Fuzzies, people grew very confused about this, never realizing that their cold, prickly feelings were really the result of the fact that they had been given a lot of Plastic Fuzzies.

So the situation was very, very dismal, and it all started because of the coming of the witch who made people believe that some day, when least expected, they might reach into their Warm Fuzzy Bag and find no more.

Not long ago, a lovely, strong woman with big hips and a happy smile came to this unhappy land. She seemed not to have heard about the witch and was not worried about running out of Warm Fuzzies. She gave them out freely, even when not asked. People called her the Hip Woman and some disapproved of her because she was giving the children the idea that they should not worry about running out of Warm Fuzzies.

The children liked her very much because they felt good around her. They, too, began to give out Warm Fuzzies whenever they felt like it.

The grownups became concerned and decided to pass a law to protect the children from using up their supplies of Warm Fuzzies. The law made it a criminal offense to give out Warm Fuzzies in a reckless manner, without a license.

Many children, however, seemed not to know or care, and in spite of the law they continued to give each other Warm Fuzzies whenever they felt like it and always when asked.

Because there were many many children...almost as many as grownups...it began to look as if maybe the children would have their way.

As of now it is hard to say what will happen. Will the forces of law and order stop the children? Are the grownups going to join with the Hip Woman and the children in taking a chance that there will always be as many Warm Fuzzies as needed?

Will Tim and Maggi, recalling the days when they were so happy and when Warm Fuzzies were unlimited, begin to give away Warm Fuzzies freely again?

The struggle spread all over the land and is probably going on right where you live. If you want to, and I hope you do, you can join by freely giving and asking for Warm Fuzzies and by being as loving and healthy as you can.

D, that is a great story, I especially like the lie of the witch that the warm fuzzies will run out, and I know I sometimes act too carefully about the blessings the Lord has given me and not sharing them enough. For all those with requests, please have confidence that God intimately cares about them, they are probably actually more important to Him than even to you. Though we always pray for the best as we see it, always for healing, for prosperity, because we love each other, unfortunately sometimes it is not always Gods will. It is also not Gods will to abandon us and to stop caring, no matter how dark the day, look up for your salvation is nigh.

Indeed my friend. I started to offer my symbol interpretations parenthetically, but then decided not to so people would form their own conclusions. The witch is definitely satan's sorceries IMO: the drugs, the pretty jewels, anything or any 'bribe' (plastic fuzzie) we try to substitute for the healing and fullness that only true intimacy can provide. Dare to be real and give to whomever asks, game and lie free living! Nothing subs for love, it just can't. The Spirit is our limitless supply of warm fuzzies, including prayer and encouragement for each other. Don't get stingy with your blessings. God is not impotent, He has no shortage of power and He wants to give it to anybody who desires to distribute it for Him. ;)

No more updates really, except for I do know that according to the doctors, she will not live through this. They arent really giving her any hope.

I cant help but to think what a great opportunity God has to "flex his muscles" in this situation. When all conventional wisdom is pointed down, this could be a great miracle if she was to pull through. Please keep praying that his will is for her to be healed and the glory go to him.

The man on the tape is named Pastor Dwayne Miller. He was the associate pastor of the very large First Baptist Church in Houston Texas, about 16,000 members. Dwayne was a very, very effective pastor. He had a large Sunday School class, but in 1990 Dwayne contracted a disease that, to my knowledge, caused the muscles around the voicebox to deteriorate and almost disappear, so he lost his voice. He went to every major clinic in the world, in fact, one of the doctors from Pavarotti was one of his consulting doctors. And after going to all the major medical centers in the world, they concluded that Dwayne's voice would soon be gone and that he would no longer be able to preach. When the tape comes on today you're going to hear him in a very grubbily, gravely voice. What they did at the church was very wise. They got an audio expert and they designed a vocal microphone that fitted right next to his larynx, here, and then they brought that up and had a kind of a shield so that every guttural sound would be caught in the shield so at least you could pick up much of what he says. And over a period of three years, Pastor Miller taught that Sunday School class and all the time, of course, they would tape his teaching, because he is an excellent teacher. And on January 17, 1993, as he's teaching his class, God heals his voice. You're going to hear it with your own ears. It's a fabulous tape. Six years ago I played it, but I wanted you folks to hear it because it fits right in to the subject of miracles.

Im still praying for her physical healing and I wonder where she stands spiritually? It wasnt Gods will for this to happen BUT "He works ALL thing together for the good of those WHO LOVE HIM and are called according to His purpose"

Im also praying that if she doesnt have a relationship with Christ that she will and if she does that she will be strengthened during this trial.

She is where she needs to be spiritually. And she is actually handling this with a GREAT attitude. She knows it will be a fight but she is willing to go for it and is at peace with what God will chose for her.

She will begin radiation this week. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks for the update tyler, it's good to hear that she is in a right relationship with God. Continued prayers for her healing.
 
Tyler 4 praying for your friends girl man, my god take her hand and guide her.. Just wanted to say thank you for all your prayers Crystal has been making great improvements. She SPOKEN for the first time since the accident and she is now tube free. They have removed the trach and her feeding tube. She has also started to move her right side, even tho she needs time to speak to you, she can hold somewhat of a conversation. She goes through rehab everyday with a speech therapist and a physical therapist. Long road ahead but she is defiantly headed in the right direction. John and Casey the two other survivors both have had surgeries again and they have went well but still need help with day to day activities. Thank you for all your prayers and keep them coming..
 
Thanks for updating us. We will give thanks for the progress so far and continue to lift them to the Lord for healing.

Hope the car endeavor went well today. I prayed for you to handle the situation with grace, dignity and strength, rather than the outcome. Cars are cars, buying em, maintaining them, and not kicking them and lighting them on fire, there's the spirituality/test at work.

thank you everyone who prayed. everything went well! i'm praying/thankful for this board!
 
My wife passed out at work last night. I got a call from her work that she was going to the hospital by ambulance and her blood pressure and heart rate were elevated. I of course quickly got myself together and got over there asap worried sick the whole way. We spent the night in the emergency room while they ran test after test, everything they did came back normal (thank GOD) She has been experiencing dizziness and severe head and neck pain for the past week and will be following up with our Dr. asap. I ask that everyone please say a prayer that whatever is causing these symptoms is nothing serious, everyone who knows me knows that she is everything to me so to to say that I have been anxious is an understatement. Thank you and God bless you all.
 
Me and medical problems go way back. My prayers are with you and i hope its nothing serious.

Thaty is completely normal SWG. it is difficult to feel the Holy Fire at all times, try focusing on not only praying for others, but being as selfless as possible in your daily actions, that always works for me. Remember, your level of gratitude is directly related to your spiritual condition. GOD bless!!

Thank you for the well wishes. I have always been a skeptical person myself it's my nature. Since as long as I can remember I have needed to see for myself if something someone tells me is true. I don't see this as necessarily a problem, it led to a spiritual "quest for the truth" for me. The result of that was faith in Jesus Christ and in his word as trustworthy. I have felt far away from God on more than one occasion and can honestly say that it was always a result of me pulling away from God and never vice versa. Remember that anger, confusion, fear etc are not from God. I will be praying for you bro, God Bless you.

Likewise. I made a decision not long ago to stop pulling away once and for all. Now I find that God's grace is sufficient in one's life because it takes care of EVERYTHING else :) If you follow Him, He makes you learn all the hard things in life the easy way. If you choose your own way instead, you'll be learning even easy things the hard way.

I'll pray that you find God's grace too SWG.

My friend, anger is like a cancer that eats at you from within. It will hinder every effort at finding happiness. It affects important relationships and destroys inner peace. It's good that you recognize it and want to deal with it. We can't know your pain, but we can promise to help wrap you in the love of Christ as we combine our prayers for your comfort and release from the grip of this pain.

It may not happen over night, but make your mind up to release the pain. Between that determination and our compassionate Father, working to heal your wounds, you will beat this. Hang in there.
 
Satan brings doubt to people in order to destroy the faith in God that is needed for miracles and glory(manifestation). I pray that God gives you a special encounter with him so that you can see how REAL God is. So that God can use you in many ways and the next time the devil puts doubt in your head, you may rebuke satan in the name of Jesus; the most powerfull name on earth.
 
I guess the same could be same for me, I feel kinda distant right now and sometimes I let my bad attiude/anger take control. :/

King David is one of my favorite authors. Our Psalms show a man of fleshly nature who so sought God's face. It's beautiful that the Father uses such REAL people as our examples. Even David found himself right where SWG and Fighback have told us they are right now. Crying out, feeling out of step with the Lord. Life can throw so many distractions at us.
 
Its a big world out there and one trying to do his or her best may run into walls looking out for their kids, with their spouse, work, money, personal relationships... I am now starting to realise what the role is that organised religion and church plays. Its a support group IMO. I always missunderstood that i didnt NEED to go to church to find god and i could look everywhere as oppsed to into books. I have seen great damage done by the power of organised religion and the missconceptions and greed infiltrating faith. I have however done myself no good to ignore all the GOOD that religion has also done that likely far far exceeds the negative.

Church is a support group and the bible is a study guide for life. I think i am stubborn also to think i can find my own path.

I appreciate the kind words and support, my problems are nothing in the face of others and their challenges but have been met with kindred spirits and heartfelt compassion.

To those offering support and trying to use their experience to aid another take a second to know my gratitude.

When i search my answers are always the same, smile, love, laugh, share, help and be peaceful and that has always kept a smile on my face, love in my arms and food in my belly.

I am now starting to realise what the role is that organised religion and church plays. Its a support group IMO. I always missunderstood that i didnt NEED to go to church to find god and i could look everywhere as oppsed to into books. I have seen great damage done by the power of organised religion and the missconceptions and greed infiltrating faith. I have however done myself no good to ignore all the GOOD that religion has also done that likely far far exceeds the negative.

Church is a support group and the bible is a study guide for life. I think i am stubborn also to think i can find my own path.

I appreciate the kind words and support, my problems are nothing in the face of others and their challenges but have been met with kindred spirits and heartfelt compassion.

To those offering support and trying to use their experience to aid another take a second to know my gratitude.

When i search my answers are always the same, smile, love, laugh, share, help and be peaceful and that has always kept a smile on my face, love in my arms and food in my belly.

Almost on the money, yes the church is for people to support each other, but the church is also a place where one is INFLUENCED by others to look for the things of GOD. I am glad you are starting to see the big picture, we are to look for God at our houses as well, not just the church. A lot of people think that christians are to just be servants of God at the temple, but that is wrong. Chistians are to be servants of God at ALL times. Guys, I just talked to one of our sisters here, keeper. She had a surgical procedure performed this morning, and she told me that the post-op pain was very intense. She's a tough, strong woman, so if she says it hurts it really must hurt pretty bad for her to say anything. Please put her in your prayers for the next few days, that the Lord's grace and mercy surround her.
