Oh this started well before I started this stack, lol.

It could be the increased dose of Synthroid (some information suggests this is possible), but I attribute it mostly to my frustration with a lack of results in terms of being able to not lose weight with a nearly spotless diet with calories tapered down into regions they never should be. I never noticed any anger in the past when using bulk DAA or LitUp. If anything, I'd notice some additional aggression, but it was easily utilized in the gym positively and then gone - this is something very different.

Not sure about the aggression . . . As far as the "lack of results in terms of being able to not lose weight with a nearly spotless diet with calories tapered down into regions they never should be" - have you considered that your body doesn't operate the best re progress and results in this state? I for one have noticed without a doubt that the more stringent and strict I am with my nutrition (please note that this does not mean cutting calories low low, but enough for fat loss, being perfect and "spotless"), the slower I get progress, and when I am eating as one would consider a "cheat" or high-high calories every other day is when I get my best and fastest results. Something to think about - you might need to reassess your diet and change it up . . .

Thanks for the input, Rosie - I always appreciate you sharing your knowledge :)

This has actually been something that's followed me my entire life. Prior to the diagnosis of hypothyroidism, I've varied cals, carbs, etc. at all sorts of levels (along with varying my weight-training, additional cardio routines, etc.). I've switched a lot of things up. It was always like pulling teeth (due to the hypothyroidism I didn't know about), but I could lose...it was just with way less cals than I should have needed to be at lol.

However, once I "bulked" for the first time in my life this past summer/fall, something changed - I simply couldn't lose more than ~5 lbs without it coming back -- didn't matter what changes I made (believe me). That's what triggered the blood work and me finding out about hypothyroidism. 50mcg of T4 didn't do any good. I've only been bumped to 112mcg for 2 weeks, so there's a chance (fingers crossed) that this will fix the problem.

However, I spent last Saturday afternoon in an urgent care due to some things I don't even want to discuss and now have a medical procedure lined up (consultation coming up on Tuesday; not sure when the procedure will take place).

Basically, I know that there's something wrong inside of me; whether it's just the hypothyroidism and the new dose hasn't kicked in or my body doesn't utilize T4 properly in terms of conversion or whether it's something worse linked to my internal problem(s), I'm not sure yet.

I'm not looking for sympathy or anything like that, I really hope that's not how any of my posts come across. I'm just sharing this so others know what I'm going through when I run a log and my starting and final weight end up roughly the same despite attempting to cut lol.

No worries, bud :)

You don't have to explain yourself to us, but I understand the frustration of having physiological issues that you either cannot explain, or you know what they are and if you don't use accepted means of control require unconventional methods to manage them (often causing conflict with others and endless questions, easier managed by just not mentioning it).

Scale weight is IRrelevant - as I have said throughout this forum - and if you change your body composition for the better with no change or even an increase in overall body mass, then that is still progress and something to be proud of.

Hope all goes well with your consult visit :fingersx:

Hit delts and traps this evening; I'll update the numbers sometime tomorrow or this weekend.

Getting ready to drive back to IL in a couple minutes -- nice 6+ hour haul ahead of me. Planning on hitting chest tomorrow and taking the weekend off.

Got a solid chest and ab workout in on Friday afternoon at the hometown gym. Took the rest of the weekend off and will get back to the grind tomorrow.

Numbers will be posted once I'm back in KY (too lazy to go grab my notebook right now lol).

Did want to say, though, that I took Wyked with me to the gym back home and let my friend who is an MMA fighter try it and she loved it. She's been using Jack3d for a while and was getting a bit bored with it and also up to like 3 scoops for lifting (told her she needs to take herself a stim break lol).

Okay, folks, UPDATES, UPDATES, UPDATES!

High-5!
Invalid Link Removed

All right, well I'm settled back in, home in KY, and kind of back to the normal grind.

Here's the update from a week ago today:

5/5/11 - Delts / Traps (Max-OT Week):

Overhead Nautilus Press: 300x5 / 270x6 / 270x6 / 180x8
DB Side Laterals: 95's x 12 (x4) / 45's x 10 (really slow) / 55's x 8 (really slow)
Seated Rear Delt DB snatch / clean: 45's x 6 (x2)
Olympic Bar Shrugs (bar in front): 465x4 (x2) / 405x8 (x4) / 315x8

Total Workout Time: 52 minutes

Decent first set on the overhead presses; lost some strength after that, but good reps/form. DB side laterals were solid again and I tossed in 2 extra sets at a lower weight, really slow movement to hit them a little bit more. The snatch/cleans that I stole from Tomahawk are still very new to me and I'm not used to them, yet. Therefore, my weight is low and that makes me angry since I use the 95's on my rear delt lateral raises lol. It's good, though. Definitely feel a lot in my traps, too (which I attribute to my lower numbers to an extent on the only 4 reps twice on shrugs at 465).

Definitely need to find my straps at some point, because grip is what gives out on those shrugs; never the traps.

I road-tripped back to my hometown to see the parents shortly after that. Got into town around 2:30 AM central (3:30 my time, so I was zapped). Passed out and hit the gym back home the following afternoon.

5/6/11 - Chest (Max-OT Week)

Incline Bench Press: 275x5 / 275x4 / 275x4 / 225x8
Bench Press: 285x6 / 295x4 / 285x5 / 225x10
Decline Bench Press: 245x6 / 275x4 / 275x4

Decline Crunches: 4x15
Pushups with 25lb plate on m back: 3x15

(above supersetted back and forth)

As with every other lift (unless specifically mentioned), this was all without a spotter.

Rest of the weekend was off from lifting, as I went down to visit some college friends and then spent Sunday hanging out with Mom for Mothers Day. Made the trip back to KY on Monday.

I actually whipped up 3 scoops of Wyked (first time using more than 2) in a shaker cup in my roadtrip cooler. Had myself a diet Mug, then a diet Sun Drop and saved the Wyked for the last stretch. Delicioso and smooth, focus and energy for the final 2-3 hours of driving. It was great. I actually wanted to work out really bad, though, too lol.

5/10/11 - 1.5 hours of basketball

This was actually the first time I've played in quite a while without lifting immediately before. For a change, I didn't get the sharp pain in my lower back (slightly to the left) that I had been dealing with. So, that's good. I must be putting just enough stress on it that hinders things when i start playing. This was the best I've felt playing in quite a while. My split is now set up to have Tuesdays and Fridays off from lifting, so I'll have my Tuesday nights good for basketball.

5/11/11 - Chest (High Intensity Week):

Cable Fly (low pulley): 110x12 (x3) / 100x12
Cable Fly (high pulley): 130x12 (x2) / 120x12 (x2)
Incline DB Bench Press: 85's x 12 / 85's x 11 / 75's x 12 (x2)
Bench Press: 205 x 12 / 205 x 8 / 185x12 / 135x18

Total Workout Time: 33 minutes

+ 12 minutes LISS on the elliptical immediately after

I rocked 2 scoops of Wyked before basketball and then 3 again, pre-workout tonight - I definitely love the focus and energy. I'll be really interested to see how it feels after a long stim-detox :yup:

So, some new stuff going on with me. I had a consult with a doc yesterday and was planning on an outpatient procedure for Friday morning. Well, the number their office estimated for me versus what the hospital called today to tell me I'd be paying were WAY off; like 4 times the initial price. Even though my insurance "covers" it, the horribly high deductible screws the whole thing. It's just not worth it.

So, in the meantime, I'll be praying that things work out on their own and save that procedure in the back pocket for a time when I hopefully have better insurance (which will hopefully be soon).

I also switched back to my prior style of eating from IF. I'd been doing it for about a month and it wasn't working for me. I've switched my Synthroid dose to pre-bed, so I can eat breakfast upon rising again (which was a major perk to the IF - being able to take my T4 without waiting around on food and all that nonsense).

So, I'm back to 7 small meals a day. Both have their benefits and I'd like to venture back to IF again sometime; it just won't work for me right now.

Tomorrow will be a back workout for me and I'll be switching up on this and delts/traps days to a lot more DB / Cable related work to help work on an imbalance I'm noticing. I just feel like my shoulders are slightly twisted, so I'm hoping to resolve that.

How i missed this im not sure but im in bud and i hope everything worksout for you!

Thanks, bro.

And you probably missed it because being gone for 4+ days kept me from updating like the OCD person that I am lol.

Well, yesterday's "workout" was pure garbage.

It started off on a bad foot as soon as I got home, so I should have expected it. I got home from work, slammed 3 scoops of Wyked and 1 scoop of DA-HCG, then got changed and mixed up my intra and post drinks.

This is the time I have the most drive in my day. As soon as I get home from the gym, I just want to lay around. So, I decided then that I was going to pull all of my supps out from the cupboards and organize them by groupings; then, put what I'm not using for the immediate future away into a huge bin and put the rest back in the cupboards so they're organized.

That took a little longer than anticipated (maybe like 15-20 minutes). I left them all over the kitchen and went to the gym. I ended up talking to my friends who were on their way out for at least 10 minutes when I got in. By the time I got over to the weights, I didn't have any drive at all. Not to mention that it was going to be a different workout for me, anyway, to focus on evening out an imbalance that's been taking place in my back.

So, I started off with really light lat pulldowns but took forever on the pulldown and contraction. After that, I moved onto DB rows; which I haven't done in forever (just seated and BB rows in the past several months). That was really the only good part of my workout. From there, I moved onto seated wide grip rows and I was just done after that. My mind was not in it at all and I wasn't going to go through the motions for a half@ssed workout.

This made me upset, but I suppose since almost all of my workouts are so great, this really shouldn't be that big of a deal. I just want to go hard for this final week, because for 2 weeks, I'll be in Hawaii and plan on deloading that entire time (longest break I'll have taken in probably 7-8 years).

In this whole process, I've finally concluded that one of my legs is longer than the other; just slightly. Apparently my right leg is slightly longer. I can notice when doing leg presses, in particular, that they don't line up right. When I was sitting on a bench, I put my feet at even locations on the floor and my left quad is lower to the ground. I predict that this has led to off balance BB rows and other lifts and that has helped in this stupid imbalance.

It's not something that's very visible to the naked eye, but I can certainly feel it. When I go through a shrug motion, it's like the left shoulder blade goes straight up, but the right pulls slightly back. So, I need to figure out how to address all of this, as well as if I need to start wearing double socks on the left foot or different shoes or what. Sucks lol.

On top of all that, I can't seem to decipher between what psychological issues I have now and which are actually physiological. I've been on Synthroid since Feb 2 and my energy levels seem as low now as they ever were before, but I don't know if I'm just imagining that or not lol. My body composition seems to have stayed exactly the same for 3 months, too. I mean exactly. It's very odd.

I'm really hoping the stim detox for 3 months along with 2 weeks in Hawaii will help things out. I'll have bloodwork when I get back (beginning of June) to see what this 112mcg of T4 has done; regardless, we will know that either it isn't working or there's something else that's causing all the issues.

Today is an off day from the gym (luckily, with as poor as last night was). Tomorrow will be biceps/triceps.

5/14/11 - Biceps / Triceps (High Intensity Week):

Olympic Bar Curls: 110x12 (x3) / 110x6 + 6
DB Hammer Curls on Preacher bench: 35x12 (x4)
Overhead Ring Curls: 90x12 (x3) / 100x12

Rope Pushdowns: 190x12 (x4)
Overhead Rope Extension/Roll: 120x12 (x4)
45 Degree Reverse Ring Curls: 80x12 (x4)

Total Workout Time: 41 minutes

This was a great workout. It was much needed after Thursday's debacle lol. Popped 3 scoops of Wyked and 1 DA-HCG about 30 minutes before my lift and it was fantastic. The gym was almost completely empty. Only 1 kid in there and he was gone after the first 10 minutes, so I was in there alone, which I enjoy (in the middle of the day).

I'm definitely looking much wider and fuller through the shoulders and tapering down; whenever I can get the mid-section fat trimmed off to complete the V, I'll be ecstatic. I didn't get any insane "pumps" today, but my arms felt very, very full.

Tomorrow will be legs after church.

It would be worth getting someone to mobilise your sacroiliac joint. If you take the most medial point on the malleolus and measure to your anterior superior iliac spine (on both sides) you can often find that any discrepancies can be instantly fixed. I have practiced this on people who are diagnosed with one leg shorter than the other and for a quick treatment the results can be outstanding and instantly visible.

Any problem at the hip can effect the ankle and shoulder if you follow the deep longitudinal sling system and fascial pathways. Look at the hips first as they effect the spine and the therefore the latissimus dorsi (the only muscle joining the spine and the glenohumeral joint) and go from there.

In short. I am in for this log!

Thanks, T. I've built my upper back much wider than I ever thought it would get, so now I just need to get \ / instead of >< lol!

this DAA-HCG sounds great, id love to try some

I can't wait to give it a shot down the road once everything is sorted out and I'm far leaner, too :yup:

Thank you for all the time of typing that out for me, man. I appreciate it and will definitely look into that.

ps Glad you're here :cool2:

Okay, so leg day was nice. I focused on almost all single leg movements to work on really hitting each muscle group and not allowing the dominant side to take over. This was definitely the most evident in my leg curls. My left hammy is certainly weaker and I had to help finish the movement for the contraction with my right foot hooking over across my ankle on a lot of the reps. All in all got a great leg pump from it and the front squats were fun as I usually do leg press on this day; this hammered my quads.

I topped that off by heading to a friend's parents' house to help his dad move a box spring and mattress upstairs for him lol. These are never heavy, but always a pain to wind around the staircases. His dad was cool and didn't get edgy about anything, though, so it was a breeze.

Tonight's workout was great, too. Striations on my delts were nuts when I was rockin my side laterals. I was winded by the time I hit rear delts. I really only did reverse cable flys because the cage and smith were both taken. It was a nice stretch to work on pulling my back in line, though. Then, I couldn't fiddle with that any more, so I rocked some DBs and held them in front of my thighs, palms in, with my back slightly bent forward and really squeezed my traps out on these - very, very slow contractions.

The cage finally opened up (someone was benching in it - go figure), so I racked it and did some olympic bar shrugs with the bar behind my back, which I haven't done in a while. These were some great contractions again. I could have gone heavier for sure, but I wanted the slower contractions to help sort my back misalignment out. My traps were toasted by the end of this workout - much more trap emphasis than usual, which I'll likely do more of.

I felt like a beast in the gym today, which was nice.

When I was wrapping up, a woman actually asked me if I wanted a free massage (no, no back alley or windowless van, it was actually legit  ), so I said sure. I'd actually been thinking about this with my back issues and I haven't had a massage since I was in undergrad; and even then, it was just a girl I was dating, so it wasn't that long or intense of a massage.

They put me in the chair and she said it would be 5 minutes, but she definitely went over that. It felt good, but not super relaxing or anything like that like some people tend to act. The big question will be how will I feel in the morning? If I feel much better, then I'll definitely look into this on a regular basis. She said it's sort of a trial with the gym at the time, but she's hoping to have some regular hours there eventually (she's actually a member there, too). I was talking about my back issues and she said that she could definitely work on that in the future if she had her table to focus on stretching at the pecs and working on the alignment -- may be something I do, we'll see.

I was also chatting with my gym owner for a bit right before the massage (this is the guy who keeps asking behind my back if I juice even after I've told him I don't). He was saying I looked a lot bigger, which is definitely evident on my delts/traps, day - I'm just really wide up top. We were BSing a bit and he was asking about me getting bigger, etc. and I told him to be honest my main focus was cutting the fat. He and the massage therapist both said it didn't look like I have much at all, but I told them I'm good at hiding it and it's definitely there. He busted out one of the handheld BF% readers and it had me at 19.7%. That actually seems about right to me and kind of made me happy. Not that I ever put much stock in it, but my digital scale says I'm 27-28% lol. By this reading, If I didn't lose any muscle, I'd be at 5% at 204 lbs, which would be awesome.

So, for the time being, my current goal is getting to 15% at 228 lbs. Then, I'm shooting for 10% at 216 and then 5% at 204, or darn close to it. With these small jumps, I think I can actually get there. It sure might take me a lot longer than it does anyone else, but it can be achieved.

I have my goal(s).

Tomorrow night I'll be hooping at the church and this time my buddy who played with Tony Allen will be coming with me. Turns out last time, he had left that day or the day before and was gone for a week or so because his father had passed away (didn't see him until just yesterday). We talked for about 40 minutes. I'll likely go in and hit some ab work before hand.

I was going to go for a run outside, but just couldn't bring myself to do it lol. So, I hopped on the treadmill and walked half a mile on varying inclines at 3-4mph and then got the urge to run when Eminem came on the iPod. So, I banged out .75 miles at 5.5 for a total of 1.25 in like 18 minutes or so.

For the longest time, aside from basketball, I've just been doing LISS and not running like I used to (for fear of burning muscle and all that good jazz). Anywho, I'll be doing this more often because it feels good and I want to get into beast-mode on the basketball court again.

damn, man-you have been busy!

Today was a very productive day and a good one. Still have to fight to find the energy levels I want, but we just switched to Summer hours, so I'm working 7:30-3:00 now. Sucks getting up earlier (read in - going to bed earlier lol), but it's great having so much day ahead of me.

And I have to go hard this week since Hawaii is Saturday

I' m in buddy....wyked is pretty good...got two bottles last week ordered another one with daa-hcg....good products...wyked is my pre-workout of choice since last week :)

I hadn't been for a while, in all honesty, but I'm getting really excited as it gets closer. I don't think it's set in yet that I'll be there for 2 complete weeks lol. That's a LONG time off!

Glad to have you aboard!

Wyked is solid and delicious. I don't get hung up on flavoring as I chug everything aside from my intra (chugging 1/2 a gallon isn't fun  lol), but it's still great when they do taste nice.

It's right up there in my top favorites list right now which was once Jack3d and is now a mixture of: Wyked, N2KTS and LitUP (still haven't tried the new Mesomorph).

Also, I don't particularly drink, but I can see kids making some homebrew Four Loko with a jug of Wyked and a handle of vodka in a big Gatorade cooler lol. I'm just waiting til that happens on college campuses. Kids would be NUTS!

Where would one get this done at? Chiro, masseuse, ART, ??

A chiropractor should be more than capable of measuring leg length and mobilising the SI joint, I would be concerned if they weren't.

ART I have no hands on experience of getting treatments with and don't know what is in the syllabus. I know guys who are qualified in ART and know there are many different modules so you would need to check with the practitioner themself. They may have only done an upper extremity course.

Massage therapists in general I would say no. You obviously get some better than others but I do not believe it is likely to be known by a majority of them.

I would go with chiropractor or osteopath. It isn't a very advanced thing to do necessarily so you shouldn't have to hunt very hard. My knowledge on what is taught on courses in America is fairly poor so take everything I say with a pinch of salt. :)

Just to let everyone know about the BTGO Wyked sale!!

This will be going until we use up all the old labels so take advantage of it while you can :bigok:

All right, so I brought my ringer to play ball tonight. We ended up on the same team and whodathunkit, we went 4-0, haha. THIS is what I miss about playing ball at the college. You'd get yourself a good squad together and run all night long.

We played the first game half court, 4 on 4. Then, I was able to convince them to run full court for the remainder, which was awesome (since it's usually only 3 on 3). I'm still getting my basketball lungs back (was able to run all of this no problem, but I used to get 8 games in no problem), but it was great. Full court is where I always used to shine, because I would out-hustle everyone I could. There are tons of guys better than me, but not many who'd sprint back and forth as long as I would.

I managed to get out on a few good fast breaks and got my D-Rose on; it was fantastic. I was good to go until 2 or 3 points from the end of the last game. I got in on a baseline drive and went for a reverse layup and my right calf cramped up on me pretty good. I was able to tough it out, but it was actually kind of nice because I haven't had a chance to play hard or long enough to cramp up in a really long time.

I hit 2 scoops of Wyked and 1 scoop of the lemonade Purple Wraath before I hit the gym because I didn't feel like eating (not optimal, but whatever). I had 2 32-oz Gatorades with 12g BCAA mixed into each that I drank throughout (love this versus my concoction of WMS and aminos, etc.). I always was so OCD about carbs/cals/etc. since I learned about nutrition a few years ago that I never wanted to take that in, but I'm easily burning it off and definitely utilize it. Back when I played baseball I'd hammer them during games, too, so I'm going back to not worrying about that stuff.

Tomorrow is chest.

This was my last workout with Wyked and DA-HCG.

I really enjoy Wyked - one of the best tasting pre-workouts I've come across and great energy/focus. I do have a few scoops left, but I was up to 3 pre-workout and I decided to start my stim-detox today. I'll be going a full 12-weeks (unless otherwise noted) without, so I won't get back into them until late August. I'll see what Wyked really kicks like when my CNS is hopefully refreshed.

I'm also very much looking forward to trying the DA-HCG solo at some point, eventually, too. I didn't notice the effects quite as much as I'd hope to, but I'll honestly say it's very likely due to psychological and other physiological reasons. Whenever I found out about the hypothyroidism, I've been "noticing" a lot of other issues and then I can't decipher what actually is a problem and what my mind is coming up with to play tricks on me. DAA normally gets me all sorts of revved up and the writeup on this sounded even better than plain DAA. Near the end, I did start to get the insane libido rush, and that was also at the time I decided that I didn't have as much fat to lose as I thought and my overall outlook got more positive. Just seems to be a lot of things linked together, there.

Anywho, I'd like to thank Eric and all the guys at Taurus for this opportunity because it's been great. You've been around for a brief time and you already have a killer lineup and a killer team - you should be proud of that.

I'll be tossing up a review that will sum this up a little bit better soon, but it may be in a few days once I'm already in Hawaii because there is just far too much to get done today.

Thanks again, guys, and thank you everyone else for following along - I appreciate the extra motivation.

12 WEEK STIM DETOX!!!!:omfg: Good luck with that! LOL! I do good to do a 4 week detox let alone 12!!! Have a great time in Hawaii and be safe!

I've done 4 and 5. The 4-week was done with Reset AD, too. Neither of them reset my tolerances at all. I'll be running Revamp (the Reset clone) for the duration and I have some other support supps that I'll likely add in along the way. Part of this is to ensure that my sensitivity is brought back down to where it was so I can feel a pre-workout kick like I used to, but also in hopes that this helps with my adrenals and helps figure out my thyroid issues.

Maxx actually shared a great article with me earlier and it was one of the best reads I've ever come across:
