I've been doing that stretch since well before it hit IM. I have had shoulder issues for 20 years.

All points are true here. What helps in one way will hurt in another, we get so one sided looking towards our goals we forget that there needs to be some natural balance. If we flex hard we need to stretch too. Depending on how things go I may start doing a deload week once every 4-6 weeks. You know totally change it up for a week, going lighter or not even going at all or just doing something else all together like playing tennis that week. I am finding I need more recovery now and once a month may be too much but I am starting there. This month I won't need it this month will kind of be a deload for upper body. Don't get me wrong there will be a heavy lift once a week, and a leg day but upper body id getting a well deserved break from getting smashed on for a while.

Taking a break every 4-6 weeks is a great idea. I do this as well. sometimes I do not want to I do it anyways though. The reason behind this is when a person is training with so much intensity, you simply can not train that way year round with out a break or the immune system breaks down, ie colds, sick, injuries.

To those you do not train balls to the wall,like an animal in the gym this need not apply.

also One thing Dorian Yates mentioned and I have taken his word on it, is back off on the intensity 6-8 weeks out from a contest, this does not mean go light, still go heavy, just do not go to failure and above(forced reps) because with body fat and calories that low your really not building muscle at this point.

Definitely, he hurt himself in that time frame on 2 occasions I think.
 
10 minute leg workout.

Hey I didn't have time to do a fll leg workout today. I got side tracked with doing some rep stuff but here is how I made up for it.

Squats 135x25, rest 1 minute, next 225 10 minutes 50 reps is the goal.
225x54 reps total in 9 minutes it took 4 sets to complete, and all were done until failure. Reps were 20, 13, 13, 8 minimal rest obviously.

Oh yeah here are the chins from the other day.


I am finishing my food and going to bed.

You know not one of those guys looks like they should be messed with. Speaking of Vikings, I wonder if the Techno Viking was in that parade this past week when they stampeded and people were killed. It was the same parade from the one he is in the video in. Apparently there were 1.25 million people showed up for the parade but only room for 1/4 or something insane like that. Now I am gonna have to go check.

Your rear lat spread looks really good, you notably widen out. It seems that only in the amateurs, do bodies look like they go from nothing, to really 3D. There's a real apparent shape shift when they flex, whereas, in the pro's, they lack that going 3D aspect, probably cause they're already so damn big. They only tend to harden to express detailed contour, as oppose to shape shift, if you get what I'm say'n.
 
I remember I couldn't go that low on chins last year because the 100lb plate would bang against the floor.

Thanks guys, I will tell the wife you like her Christmas present to me. I am collecting more and more. Currently Standing target punch/kicking bag, heavy bag, reflex bag, Power rack with Dip station, Lat pull down, pec deck, and low row attachment. A standard dumbell set up with screw on collars and 2 adjustable benches. One has an leg curl/ext attachment and a preacher curl attachment. Oh yeah and a trap/deadlift bar. 1000 watt surround stereo system with 12 inch powered sub for my tunes. Now I want some heavy chains, and some bands, a few kettle bells and more free weight and I am good to go.

Okay tonight I hit up the Push moves and will go to 135 on the overhead db extension and see what happens. Will be a PR as long as i get one rep, mentally planning on 10 got 9 last week with 125 but I am ready to kill it!

My legs are nice and sore from that 10 minute leg day. I may incorporate things like that a lot more often. I forgot how well they work.
 
jealous, jealous and jealous. I wished I had a home gym. I'd probably still have a gym pass, but I'd love to have 24hr, easy access just because.
 
i need more stuff to add to mine, and question, my squat machine, the bar is having trouble pushing foward to its lock position ( this is a big problem bc it hurts my wrist to push it that much when i have 250 + on the bar ) could i just slap some wd 40 up and down the bar that it moves on ?

I would call the manuafacturer but I would say either grease or silicone spray depending on the materials used with the bar and if has bearings in that chamber or just metal on metal. Mine came with a thick grease like axle grease and it is 7 years old and has no issues just reapply a little 2-3 times since I have had it. Mine is not a smith machine though.

Todays workout

Well I did not do the overhead triceps ended up going to a gym where they are so big and clumsy that I just culdn't get any range of motion with the 130. I ended up working out with my buddy and we killed it anyway.

Bench - 135x20 185x15, 225x8, 225x6, 185x12
Incline DB Flies - 40x15, 50x10, 60x6
Cable Crossovers - 80x15, 70x20, 50x25

HS Shoulder press 70 per side x 12, 55x15 alternating sides but "resting" in up postion but not locked out to keep tension, 45x11 done same way.
T-Cups 30x10, 30x10, 20x13

Hammer Strength dip machine 180 weight only, goal was 60 reps. 20, 16, 8, 10, 7 total 61 reps 8 minutes...

I am very depleted right now. I did not carb u this week. As I lose weight and size in my waist my abs only improve slightly. I had more visceral fat than I thought. It is going to be a race to get to the abs by the 1st of next month. They are improving and I lost a belt hole worth of girth, but skin is loosening up and pooling a little on lower half of abs. The mix of a little sub q fat and loose skin has e looking a little sloppy in that region but it will clean up as I go.
Here are pics from today. Other than the oblique shot I am only holding abs in tight enough so they don't hang out but not "flexing" abs.

HAHA I was Stone Cold for Halloween one year a long long time ago. At my sons school back then when sStone Cold was everywhere I picked him up in a wife beater and all the kids the next day were like dude I didn't know your Dad was Stone Cold... WOW Keep in mind this was when he was in 3rd grade so they were yung. I have a little statue drink cup thing of him that someone gave me because they said I look like him. LOL

Just progress pics. The here is where I am now variety. I am looking pretty full right now as I am doing a 500-600 gram carb up over the course of the weekend those pics I was depleted, I am up about 3 lbs since yesterday and will probably fill out another 2-3 lbs today.

Cardio day today.

Let me give a run down of the week ahead, I flipped my weight and cardio days around so I could workout with my buddy on Saturdays again. So today is cardio. I am going to get in a total of 5 cardio sessions per week this month to try to kick this subcutaneous fat loss into go mode. I have some cardio to make up on from last 2 weeks while my son has not been home making the schedule hard to do. I knew that would be a problem so during the week I cut my cals down by 500 since this is typically the range of cals I burn in a cardio session. Also since it rained last week I was not able to do cardio on my lunch hours. I will walk as many days as possible at lunch this week.

Oh by the way HOLY CRAP MY DOMS!!!!!! That intense workout on Saturday has my chest so sore I am just like what the fug! My shoulders too. Triceps not as bad.

lulz at the stone cold story. I can still hear the glass breaking at the beginning of his theme music like I was 14 years old. He's one of the best ever. One of the best WWE moments ever was when Arnold was promoting his End Of Days movie and came on WWE and guest commentated, then slid a chair into the ring so that Stone Cold could crack it over Triple H's head, then proceeded to backhand Triple H after the bell, beat the tar out of him, then had a brewskie with Stone Cold. Vince couldn't have written a better script ever.

 
That was a cool WWE moment. Those were the good days.

Arnold's backhand to Triple-H looked pretty convincing........for professional wrestling. LOL
